I took my teenage twins that are 14. They ordered the All you can eat Sushi and they got 1 small salad, edamame, and 3 rolls apiece. For myself I ordered chicken bites and Ramen. I don't eat sushi or seafood. So the waitress watched us the whole time to make sure we weren't sharing with each other. So if you don't eat everything they will charge you for whatever left. But you cannot take the leftovers even after paying for it. So they will literally charge you to throw away the food. The food was ok, nothing special in flavor. I was looking for a new Chinese restaurant nearby and this spot is right around the corner. It looks like there is no parking from U.S. 30, but there is plenty of parking in back. For those with disabilities, there are a few steps to get inside. There is also a ramp, but it's a little bit of a hike to get from the ramp to the entrance. I went late afternoon on a Monday and was seated right away. I was seated in the enclosed patio/sunroom. It was bright and inviting. Because it is sort of indoor/outdoor space they need to pay special attention to cleaning the base and corners of the retractable doors, but it was mostly clean. The menu is a blend of Japanese, Thai and Chinese. I ordered the crab rangoon as an appetizer, a glass of Thai tea and an order of kung pao beef. The crab rangoon came out promptly and was hot and delicious. The Thai tea was good, but I wish it had a little more cream in it. The kung pao beef came out hot. The flavor was really good, but it lacked spice. It was supposed to be spicy, there was none. There was a good quantity of beef in the dish, but the quality of the beef was mediocre. A couple pieces had cartilage and was very hard to chew. I actually had to spit some out which is never good. If you like peanuts and water chestnuts then you will love this dish. If the dish had more spice and a better quality beef it would have been perfect. Overall, I spent about $35 with tip. I left with leftovers, so the entree is big enough for two people to share. So... they've added an AYCE sushi option. Umm. So good. I generally don't go back when I've written a "their food is too salty" review. Cuz generally that's just a chef issue with being heavy handed with salt but sushi? You can't make that salty. It's up to ME how much soy sauce I dip it in. Seriously. So good. We chose your establishment to celebrate Valentine's Day with my son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. Unfortunately, what should have been a special family evening turned into a disappointing and unacceptable experience. When my son and his family arrived, they were told they had to remain in the waiting area. He politely asked why they couldn't be seated inside and was told it was because their party exceeded four people. When my husband and I arrived shortly after, I asked the same question and was given the exact same explanation. However, the dining area was nearly empty -- only two couples were seated inside at the time. Shortly afterward, a larger family (five or more people) walked in and was immediately seated indoors. At that point, it was clear that the reasoning given to us was inconsistent. After I addressed the situation, another staff member stepped in, apologized, and attempted to make things right, even offering a complimentary drink. While I acknowledge that effort, the issue was not about a free drink. It was about how my family was treated from the start. The way my son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren were initially handled was unacceptable and left a lasting impression. Good food does not excuse poor or inconsistent treatment. This experience reflects a need for better communication, consistency, and customer service standards. Because of this, I will not be returning. I hope this is taken seriously so that other families do not experience the same treatment. read more

1st timer, ordered thru Door Dash. The portion was a little off, I ordered a Large Shrimp fried rice but the portion looked like a medium. The rice needed more seasoning, shrimp were a decent size. The crab Rangoon was great, soft and not burnt. I think the next time I will go have dinner at the restaurant to see if there is a difference. The food was just OK. I had the fish lover sushi, and the pad Thai noodles. On the menu it has a pepper that indicates spicy, but it was not spicy at all. Our waitress was a young girl who was very awkward in her communication. It was a little offputting that one of the workers used a zapper to kill bugs that were near the sushi bar. I asked for ice water to drink and wasabi mayo. My appetizers came out first they were pretty good Then my sushi came out. The sushi was not very good quality. The tuna had a really bad smell to it. I pointed this out to the waitress and she shrugged your shoulders and then asked her where is the water that I ordered and the wasabi mayo she said OK Never gonna be seen again absolutely horrible if you wanna go out there for all appetizers places in bed if you want to get sushi tastes old then you wanna go to this spot I should've known when I went at lunchtime. I came back! Wow, I was blown away at the food provided today during lunch. We ordered: Crispy Rice, Spicy Kani Salad, Gyoza, Orange Chicken, Chicken Lo Mein, and the Den Roulette Roll (comes with a shot and 1 hidden spicy roll, loser takes the shot!) everything was fantastic. We had few different sushi rolls. It was delicious, fresh and HUGE. This is by far one of the best and most authentic sushi place in the area. I am embarrassed to admit that this was my first visit to Den Asian Bistro. There is this AMAZING Asian restaurant right down the road from me and I have not experienced this... crazy. So today is the day. My mother in law and I stopped in during lunch for sushi. You walk into this inviting foyer or your watch back to this little bump out porch that they have inclosed. So bright and a cozy. There is also a huge dining area for seating but this little bump out was perfect. As we walked to our table we were greeted by the sushi chef who was working on some really fantastic creations. Our lovely waitress sat us down and gave us a huge menu. So much to try. But this time we were there for the sushi. We shared the Godzilla and the T-Rex. Our waitress surprised us with an appetizer from the chef. It was a chef special and not on the menu, and absolutely amazing. The Godzilla and T-Rex were big portions, we had no room for more! I want to say Godzilla was my favorite! This was a horrible experience. First, we found a bug in one of the serving sauces on the table. The bug was still kicking. The salt/pepper shakers were all dirty and looked like they've never been wiped down a day in their life. The food was very mediocre, I would recommend Furin in Valpo for some WAY better sushi. The menu has a nice selection of Chinese, Thai, and Japanese with a decent sushi selection. The 2 rolls we had were quite delicious- very fresh tasting with nice soft rice. We ordered the Seafood Delight (scallops, shrimp, and crab for $15.95. Imagine our surprise when there wasn't a single scallop in our entree. My husband called immediately and was told that "we ran out of the scallops and the chef meant to tell you" . Ummm , NO, that's not how it works.
