I've been to A Fusion almost 10 times in the last 2 years just to get hibachi. It's so good EACH time. I haven't been disappointed.. in the slightest. I know it sounds crazy to be a regular to hibachi but it's that good. I haven't tried the other side of their restaurant (and I always say I will). The service is great (Pablo, one of the hibachi chefs, is my favorite). The ambiance is your typical sit down setting but that makes it even more likable. I ordered my food from Uber Eats and due to the fact that I had missing vegetable egg rolls that I paid $10 plus dollars for, I called the establishment and the "SO CALLED" manager gets on the phone and as I explained the situation to her she was not really listening to me! She was so very rude, with horrible customer service, no true listening skills and have no true respect for the customers that frequents that establishment which I s disappointing because it was such an easy resolve! In addition, she hung up the phone on me and when I called her back she said to me "I told you that you can come an pick up the egg rolls" yes she did say this however, your restaurant is not a (3) minute drive from my home, maybe offering credit for the egg rolls for the next time you come in, would have been a better suggestion! They have an AMAZING sushi bar with a huge amount pf different ingredients. They offer hibachi is you are dining in as well! Now I typically go in with my parents to treat them to dinner and they have very affordable family meals that I adore! They start you off with appetizers (soup, egg roll, rib, shrimp) and then they load you with rice and your choice of meats depending on how many people you have with you. I took my friend there for her birthday. The service was terrible and slow. Food was bland and not good at all. To top it off, the bad service and they had the nerve to add 18% service fee (for two people). When I complained at the check out counter, they said this was on the menu. NOT!!! This is my favorite place to eat in Chicago! The food is amazingly beautiful when when presented. My go to is the delicious beef pepper steak. This entrée includes delicious tender slices of beef with crunchy red and green peppers. Their spring rolls are a must have! Don't be afraid to order two orders! You only get two in an order! The food is always so good when we come here. They have so many items to choose from on the menu. I usually get one of the Thai items. This time I had the Thai red curry, which I asked for it hotter and it was definitely packed with heat! But it was so good!! My spouse ordered the Mongolian beef and it was very delicious as well. We had veggie egg rolls and some sushi to start. The sushi was great as always! If I had any complaints it would be that the food comes out so fast. I had sushi: Snow mountain maki And Godzilla roll. SOOOOO GOOD!!! Everything came out in a flash!!!! Hot, fresh tasty! I couldn't eat all my sushi, so I asked for a to go container. As we wait for the container, my husband sees a bug crawling on the wall next to him. I'm like NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! I put the flash light on the wall to be certain! I was hoping it was some OTHER BUG! It has been nice weather, perhaps a bug that WAS NOT A ROACH was just hanging around???? I took a picture, blew the image up. I was still trying to make myself believe it was NOT a roach. I turned my flashlight on to get and even better look. And dammit!!!! It was indeed a roach!!!!!! My heart was beating so fast! I was sooo disappointed. The host was walking by. Saw me and was like "omg, I am so sorry...." She reached over me, tried to grab the bug from the wall, dropped it in my plate (where the sushi rolls were that I WAS gonna take home). The bug was not killed, and it continued to crawl. She picked it up from the plate, she dropped it again on the table! I sat in silence. I just didn't know what to say or do. People kept coming in, being seated-and honestly, I did NOT want to make a scene. So I didn't say much else. She apologized multiple times and told us that we did not have to pay for our lunch. I went outside, shook my coat and scarf put for "safe measure". I dare not bring any creatures home with me. Listen yall, I was very disappointed. Yes, I have heard rumors of a bug/bugs. I always love a good hibachi experience but A Fusion seems to always do it for me. You'd think the food was horrible because they're never crowded however, I just think it's a hidden gem. There's never a wait, the service is great and prompt, the food is delicious and they even have baby sake (juice) for the kids when it's sake time.
