Honestly, it's more like 2-1/2 stars. Here's why. I went on a Friday at Happy Hour time, but theirs is only on Mondays thru Thursdays. Fine. The prices were reasonable enough without it, so I took a seat at the bar. My server came over quickly with water and menus, then got my hot sake. A few minutes later (after some too-loud conversation with fellow servers in the main bar area where everyone could hear), he came back to take my order. Then back to his conversation with other servers. When the food came out, it was was good, though not the best I've ever had. The hot-and-sour soup had good spice but could have used more sour (as in vinegar). The edamame were not hot enough. The pot stickers were probably the star of the show but they were deep-fried, not "pot-stuck" and nothing on the menu indicated that. After dropping my dishes, back to the other servers. So ... why 2-/12 stars? I think you sense the theme emerging here. The food was not great but good enough that I'd probably go back, if not for the servers who seemed more interested in talking among themselves than interacting with their guests. If I'd been with someone else or in a larger party, that would have been fine but I was a solo diner. A wait staff on top of its game would have recognized that and at least tried to engage. We saved 20% ($8) which made the dining out less guilty and more pleasure. Also, the Thai House Fried Rice is supposed to come with fresh tomatoes and cucumber slices. We've ordered takeout from here several times. Originally, our hope was to find a convenient Asian restaurant that served good sushi. After trying the sushi here, It was lackluster for my taste. So, during my next couple of visits, I ordered shrimp fried rice, vegetables, egg rolls, and orange chicken for my family. My folks, who are sometimes finicky, really liked the orange chicken. It was consistent each time I've ordered it. On the other hand, the shrimp fried rice and egg rolls were good the first time but got progressively worse each time I've ordered them. Worse, meaning both were a bit greasy for me. I prefer fried rice that's lighter in color and taste and not dense with finely chopped green onions and not onion chunks. I also like egg rolls that are fresh and taste fresh. It seems like the quality of these two items just weren't consistent, hence my 3-star rating. Will I return? I am giving them a 4 star rating for there eat in/to go hibachi lunch. Atmosphere: decent, asian style restaurant vibes. As you walk in you can either eat at the regular tables or the hibachi room, where they cook the food in front of you. I've not ever eaten at the hibachi room and was recommended by other other that their regular food is not as good. I've never been where I had to wait to be seating, it's always pretty empty when I go which works for me. Customer service: There host/cashiers are always a little below average. They never smile and always seem like their in a rush even with an empty restaurant. When you can for a to go order I'd recommend knowing what you want to order before hand because the person isn't entirely helpful. They have a menu on their website. As for as the hibachi servers and cooks, they are always very friendly and attentive. The cooks are the best! They crack jokes, talk to you about current events, do tricks, and are always smiling. Food: like I said before, I've only ever tried their hibachi style foods. I get between steak, chicken, shrimp or do a combination. They are always cooked to perfection, even when getting it to go. Obviously, when it's cook fresh in front of you it's twice as good. The meals come with a salad, onion soup, vegetables, rice, and noodles. My boyfriend always subs out the rice for more noodles so that's also an option. Their prices are very decent considering the amount of food and their competitors. Decided to check this place out for their lunch special before a crowd would arrive. We sat at the bar for a few minutes as they prepared our hibachi station. We ordered two of their Hennessy drinks. The sunrise wasn't good but they had a peach drink that was really good. The food did not taste good to me at all. It honestly felt like I could have made it at home. The restaurant located on Lincoln Highway, in front of the now "dead" Lincoln Mall. It is clean and nicely decorated, with a pretty attentive staff. As others have mentioned, there is the option of Hibachi, Buffet, or ordering from the Menu for dine in or carry out. I truly love Chinese, Thai, and Japanese Food. But, the only reason I keep going back to A Fusion is because my kids and the hubby LOVE the sushi. On the other hand, I have tried the A Fusion Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Egg Foo Young, Orange Chicken, Chicken Chop Suey, and Chicken and Broccoli. i should be suing but they are really playing with peoples lives, every time i try new food i ask the workers to ask the cooks if their food have nuts, treenuts, cocunuts etc. because i'm allergic to them (literally the most common allergy in the U.S.) When i asked the waiter said no but i felt that she was unsure. So, admittedly, me and my family are Hamada fans, but they were closed on Mother's Day (seriously?!), so the next closest hibachi restaurant to me was A Fusion. I was not at all optimistic, but I gave it a shot. I placed my order at 2:35, and the estimated time was 3:45. Again, Mother's Day, so I wasn't pressed. The online ordering system was VERY easy to navigate, and gave options to customize the order, which was great! Prices were your standard hibachi price. I waited in their parking lot (it was raining, so I wasn't going home and coming back out, you know?), and was called and told it was ready 10 minutes earlier than expected! Another plus! The wait wasn't long at all! Went in to get my order, and it came with a mask! Another one. *DJ Khaled voice* When I got home, mom was surprised and I was elected favorite child. The food was AMAZING! Ample portions (I'm still trying to figure out how the got the container closed), order was accurate, hot, and fresh! They didn't even forget the appetizer shrimp. Beautiful. Hamanda's use to be my spot but the service and the food is never consistent. Too expensive not to be consistent or considerate. A Fusion has been a life line of deliciousness with a huge menu and great service. There was one order that incorrect...missing an item and I called the manager corrected it right away. No questions no back and forth just apologize. My favorite meal the steak and shrimp hibachi the only reason I can't give a complete 5 star is the golden sauce isn't quite how I like it. When we are feeling Asian take out, we definitely think of A fusion first. If the close convenience isn't enough, the food sums up our frequent visits. I usually get the same thing which is the shrimp fried rice with extra eggs, the shrimp egg rolls, the large shrimp with sweet sauce, and I have tried the Crab Rangoon a few times. Each time I am never disappointed. The staff are always polite, the place is tidy, and I never have to wait to long to pick up my food. I have sat in for their hibachi experience, but honestly I was not as impressed. It seemed like the food was way more oily and it just didn't hit quite the same. Not great, just ok. Their food is expensive. We had sushi and no alcohol. There were 2 of us and I spent $118. Here's the reason for the 1 star. They added an 18% gratuity automatically - for 2 people. Myself and my 11 year old daughter. I typically tip 20% but if they feel they can dictate the tip, then who am I to argue. I'll never go back. Any place that forces you to tip a certain amount regardless of the service should go out of business. If you want your servers to make a certain amount, then pay them regular wages. Gratuity is optional, not mandatory. Either earn your tip or get a different job that doesn't depend on people grading your service by financially rewarding or penalizing you. read more

This has been my go-to restaurant for literally over a decade, and they never seem to disappoint. The sushi prices for all you can eat are reasonable, considering the fact that there aren't too many sushi places around this suburb. I've had a good share of their Chinese dishes which are pretty standard to other Chinese joints, but this is a great lowkey spot for hibachi and sushi. A-Fusion has really evolved over the years from the development of the menu to restaurant renovations. It's a shame that this is restaurant is in Matteson/doesn't have more than one location because it seems as the demographic here isn't that appreciative.
