New Wok is just such a small place it seems like it's popular. Actually it's not that bad. The food is pretty cheap which is the best thing. Busy especially when it's lunch. It's as if there's no other place to go around here, and there's not a lot from the looks of things. This is carryout only, and once you get inside you'll see why. Has no tables at all. There's only a counter and people lining up from the entrance to it. It's about $7 for an entree. We got the Vegetable Chop Suey. Basic. This is noodles with vegetables. Comes in boxes. Small hidden Chinese restaurant in a strip mall area. Came close to closing (about an hour) but was still able to order and got my food fresh (and very hot). This place is CASH ONLY, just so everyone is aware. There is an ATM inside if you did forget. Got the mongolian beef combination plate and my friend the szechuan chicken combination plate. Both came with shrimp fried rice and an egg roll. The egg roll was freshly fried and delicious. The shrimp fried rice was okay, primarily soy sauced rice with a small amount of small shrimp spread throughout. The fried rice took up half the plate, probably more than what I wanted but it was fine for the cost. The mongolian beef was okay, not the best that I've had, but I didn't mind eating it. Same with the chicken per my friend. The combination plates came out to be ~$9 for each, and given the amount of food we were given, very worth it. read more

This place is honestly one of me and my family's favorite to-go Chinese takeout restaurants. Last time me and my father got the new thick hibachi noodles which were the lo mein but thicker and no sauce; and it was honestly so good. We also got their signature chop suey, which were vegetables and with your choice of meat; chicken, beef, jumbo shrimp, or pork, you could also just get a vege chop suey which is also equally as good. Oh my god, this place is amazing. I came here on a Tuesday with my wife and the food was delicious! Me and my wife got a large orange chicken and the portions were unimaginably huge. The cap of the container with the orange chicken looked like it was about to combust, we even got a portion of rice with the orange chicken. The service was amazing, the lady was quick and got my order precisely. She was very nice to us, even suggesting us orders as it was our first time there. Okay y'all so I'm back with another review, but this time y'all need to get up and RUN TO THIS PLACE! My first time having New Wok was back in October and I didn't know where my husband's aunt ordered from. I just knew they lived in Markham and it didn't take them long to get back with the food. Being the foodie I am, I had to find the place with the freshest most delicious Chinese food I've had in years. I'm not a fan of chicken egg foo young or chicken fried rice but it was IMPECCABLE. The gravy was the right consistency, the egg, the foo, and the young was perfectly cooked and you could taste the freshness of the ingredients used. Overall 10/10 for both the egg foo young and fried rice. Now from the outside of the restaurant you'd think eww I'm not going in there. It's small, no room for dine-in, but it's your typical hole in the wall carry-out place. And it's always the little mom and pop places with the best food and service. Price wise, it's relatively cheap compared to other Chinese spots I've had lately. For an order of chicken wings, large egg foo young, and small fried rice I spent under $20. Even with extra sweet and sour and soy packets. This place is CASH ONLY with an ATM inside. Save that $3 atm fee and swing by your cash station before you go. read more

What a great deal and on top of that, the food was delicious! It just reminded me when I was younger and tasted Chinese food for the first time. When food does that, it means it's really good. My wife and I just ordered for the first time based on the feedback here. No one mentioned that the portion sizes are ungodly huge! My wife got a combination platter (broccoli and garlic chicken) and the dish came in a large styrofoam container that is sectioned into three. Her entree filled, and I mean filled the large section and the ample fried rice filled the other two sections and the lid was hard to close. I ordered pork lomein and a small fried rice as it didn't come in a combination platter. Same container as wife's, completely filled overflowing with pork lomein. And if that wasn't enough, we ordered a few egg rolls too. Everything was fantastic! So the food is really good and the serving size was too much for us. We could have ordered just hers and still had leftovers. My advice, agree on a single entree and order that as a combination and feed a party of four with it and additional egg rolls so everyone has one. You might still have leftovers. While we were there to pick up our order another patron came in and raved that they had been coming here for years and it is the best. We agree! read more

A tip from a regular place your order in advance and give them about fifteen minutes before you head out. Also, make them repeat it back to you. New Wok is fantastic! I haven't had time to truly explore their menu, so I'll write about what I know is good. The shrimp with lobster sauce is the best I have ever had! Truly amazing! The flavor is phenomenal, and they give you jumbo shrimp inside of it. They also have great shrimp friend rice which I like to get extra shrimp and green onions added to it. There is always a few people inside ordering and it does take them some time to get out the sweet deliciousness, but it is worth the wait. Hard to find a great Chinese restaurant, but this is one of them. My only critique is possibly their shrimp egg rolls. I like nice amount of shrimp inside and that slight peanut butter taste that makes egg rolls to me taste so good. All in all fantastic place. Magnificent Orange Chicken.. It is personally the best orange chicken i have ever had. The pieces of chicken are huge and crunchy, and dont get soggy if they sit or are refrigerated, and the sauce is, i reapeat the best!.. Why only 4 stars? Ok this place was awful. I ordered the orange chicken lunch special extra spicy. The rice had no flavor. There were some small pieces of shrimp but no flavor. The orange chicken was awful. It was sweet, but not spicy at all. I bit into a piece of chicken and it was extremely chewy, it was unbelievably awful. Three was water and oil dripping from my food. I asked for some extra sauce packets and they charged me! Who charges for extra spicy mustard sauce. I don't know how they have 4 stars.
