An update 3-12-26: Went today (Thursday) as it was my wife's b-day. The ruby red and emerald green curries were tasteless. The noodles (Pad Woon Sen) were old and so they clumped together in a sticky mess. The real problem, however, was the server never informed us that they were out of white rice, every dish was served with brown rice. How does a Thai place run out of white rice? No true Asian dish is ever served with brown rice. Never heard of it and it completely changes the taste of the accompanying entree. I won't change my rating as this may have been a one-off, we'll see on the next outing. A top rung thai restaurant that will match or surpass any in the city for down home authenticity. Just wasn't really a fan. The flavors were not there.... I ordered Thai fried rice which was very bland... The pad kee mao aka drunken noodles lack the basil flavor... And for some reason this was very spicy... Not the normal traditional entree...Pad thai usually you can feel the flavor of the peanuts didn't really taste them. Peanut flavor. Came here for lunch with my friends. It is in a strip mall so there is ample parking. The ambiance is casual and the decor is nice. Our waitress was really nice, friendly and sweet. We ordered pot stickers, shumai, and spring rolls for appetizers. Entrees: drunken noodles, teriyaki chicken, and I ordered the chicken pad see ew. Everything was delicious. For dessert, we ordered sweet sticky rice with mango, which was my first time trying it. It was just as delicious! If we are in the area again, we will definitely come here again! read more

Originally I was going to go to Joy of Thai but Google said they were open but they were really close on Mondays and Tuesdays it was a disappointment thank goodness I looked on Google and I called first for indra Thai restaurant. Someone answered and said they were open in regards to the food it's very authentic in regards to the curry dishes and the fish toast. The fish toast was very fresh with the fresh cucumbers as a condiment or garnish I ordered the chicken ruby red curry and it was delicious too service was very attentive and friendly. Ambience was very traditional and Thai much cleaner in regards to the facilities. I had also ordered Thai iced tea which is my favorite and it was also delicious too. Their Curry was a bit not as creamy but it's still just as good. Four out of five stars the only thing is prices are little expensive but then again things are going up other than that if you're in the neighborhood and you want availability for Thai food this is the place to go they're not closed on Monday and Tuesdays like Joy of Thai. They had a dessert menu and I finished it up with fresh coconut ice cream I was going to go for fried banana with vanilla ice cream but according to the server she said it's just regular banana that they fried in pieces with ice cream they didn't add any other sweetener or spices to make it unique read more

Not impressed by the food or happy about the wait, though I wouldn't have minded if the food was better. I've had a lot of Thai Iced Tea, theirs tasted off - perhaps they include an ingredient not typical in most teas. We could not finish it. The panang had no flavor besides sweet, not many ingredients in it, and no basil was even added to it! I also realized I was not asked what level of spice, so it had absolutely none which did not help. Wow! So glad we decided to check this place out! We ordered for delivery through uber eats. Despite our driver taking longer than expected to arrive, everything traveled very well -- no spills and was still hot and fresh when it arrived. My massaman curry was excellent. Absolutely bursting with flavor, and prepared with scalloped potatoes rather than cubed/boiled, which was a game changer for me. My partner had the Pad See Ew with scallops which were fresh and tasted great. He also asked for beef added under the "special instructions" section, which they accommodated without any issue. Finally, we had an order of pork dumplings for him, and Tom Kha for me. The Tom Kha has a bit of an extra kick compared to what i've had before, with the spices balancing the coconut just right. I got Indra through Uber Eats. The flavors were good, though some of our dishes were a bit pricey. The fried avocado was innovative, and I loved the dipping sauce. With only four pieces at $6, though, it felt a little like a rip. The Bangkok duck was solidly spicy and flavorful, but, again, at $17, it felt a bit too expensive for the quantity. The pad see ew seemed more adequately priced ($11) and was a solid Thai choice. It did take a while to arrive, but Uber Eats was pretty accurate on the expected time. read more

I definitely recommend! Being relatively new to the area, I am looking for Asian cuisine that I can enjoy. First, the decorations are very lovely for a casual restaurant. They have the walls freshly painted a placid yellow that is soothing, lovely tables and tablecloths. And they walls are decorated with images of Thai minstrels. I ordered the red curry. The color was a bit different than I am used to but the flavor was delicate and delightful! Also, they use fresh vegetables that are not over or undercooked. The dish has green beans and Asian eggplant which was surprising and welcome. The spice level was low for "medium", so, if you like spicy.. adjust accordingly. Delicious food and very friendly staff! We came here on a Friday night and there was plenty of seating. I started with a lemon drop martini which was great- sweet and tart! We shared the panang curry with tofu, veggie pad kee mao, and the fried red snapper. Everything was so flavorful and delicious! The sauce on the snapper was almost like sweet and sour sauce. Ordered take out from here. The person taking my order was very nice and patient as I was choosing what to get. She gave lots of info as to what all the dishes were. We ordered chicken satay, emerald green curry w/ chicken, tofu pad thai, and the three flavor beef. Chicken satay was seasoned well and the sauce is good. It wasn't any better than others we have had but it met expectations. The emerald green curry was so flavorful. The veggies and chicken complimented each other well and it was so tasty with white rice. The tofu pad thai was also flavorful. Sometimes pad thai can be underseasoned as the noodles soak up all the sauce, and this one is on the drier side. However, all the flavor is still there and was enjoyable. The three flavor beef is an excellent dish as well to pair with white rice. It has a sweet, with that five spice kind of flavor and it works really well in the sauce. the beef was very tender and the veggis in it (mushrooms, peppers and zuchinni) were not overcooked and still had a bite to them. Overview: This is a nice, clean, quiet restaurant with friendly wait staff... but, the food was really bad, to the point that it was almost insulting. Shrinkflation is real. We ordered chicken larb, a curry, tea for two, and rice. The bill came out close to $50. The larb was some ground chicken topping a plateful of iceberg lettuce. Although the curry was described as having about 5 different ingredient, all we saw was chicken (which we paid extra for) and sliced potato. In addition to the subpar ingredients, the curry was loaded with msg. Conclusion: Shrinkflation is making it really difficult to go out to eat anymore. As consumers, we are paying more for our meals, which is fine, but when we get our meals they are half the size and mainly filler ingredients. The pandemic and inflation has been hard on small businesses, but meals like this are convincing me it's better to cook at home. read more

If you're eating in, make sure you're not in a hurry. They do cook their food made to order and the place is very busy also with their to go orders. It can take a while to get your food. This is our favorite go-to spot to have a relaxing dinner in this area! The staff is always really friendly, food arrives quickly, and everything is always fresh. If you're overwhelmed by the choices on the menu, you can't go wrong with the specials. For appetizers, the fried avocado and crispy pancakes are delicious. The last time I went, I had the Penang curry seafood and the portion was just enough, and just sweet/spicy enough. My family members all loved what they ordered, also, as usual. Another thing that is really good is their ice cream, which takes a minute to come out, but I'm pretty sure they make it in-house. We'll be back for sure, we've already been several times! read more

Let me start by saying I am incredibly satisfied with my experience here. This is the third time I've had the luxury of attending this Thai restaurant and every time I have left more than content. The food was FANTASTIC each time I went the meal was consistently as good as the previous time I dined in. This time was truly special, however; I ordered the "Chicken on fire". If you are a fan of spicy food this is the place to be. The dish was a perfect flavor bomb that was certainly complemented by the spicy Thai peppers. The Tom Kha soup is an excellent way to start the meal and left a lasting impression. If you're looking for a great appetizer for the table look no further than the Shumai. The sauce was unique and offered a different flavor than other dumplings I have had in the past. To finish off the variety of ice cream-like desserts are the perfect way to end the meal with flair and style. I am without a doubt recommending this wonderful place to my friends. The service was also very friendly as well as comforting. The atmosphere was calming and in general, I couldn't have asked for a better time. First time we've ever tried and we loved it! The drunken noodles were super good. I'd recommend that over the pad Thai. The pot stickers were AMAZING! You only get 3 (so order lots!) but they are huge and absolutely delicious. A lot of the portion sizes are a little smaller than expected, more personal sized than shareable just for reference when ordering. We also all really enjoyed the crispy pancake. I had something similar in Nepal a few years back and haven't been able to find anything comparable and it really brought me back! The beef dish and jalapeño chicken were mostly veggies, not much meat but still good. Their menu is huge, can't wait to try more. We wanted to order the duck, calamari & crab rangoon but they weren't available on Uber Eats. Food was still hot and fresh when it arrived as well. read more

I'm not sure what real customer would be giving this place more than 1 star, But if they did they need to get their head examined. Or the place possibly pays for reviews or have family do it? Not sure. My daughter was in from college and this was the one night we were able to go out for dinner. We typically go to a local place but like a fool I wanted to try something new. This was only about 20 minutes away and had a 4 star review so I said let's give it a try. I also looked at the menu and it had a handful of things we could eat. (We eat Vegan) Huge red flag when we walked in.....there were people at 5 tables, but no was eating. The place is small and it was too quiet. Not one person who worked there was in sight. No waitperson, no bar tender, no busboy, no one. We stood at the front desk for almost 5 minutes before someone emerged from the back and told us to sit anywhere. We did. They took a drink order about 5 minutes in and then it took about 15 minutes to take our order and we got a couple apps too. By that time 3 of the tables cleared out and 3 people came in behind us. So 4 tables of people remained. Took about 30 more minutes before the fried tofu and 4 mini egg rolls came out. Meh. Then we proceeded to wait and wait and wait. A table of 2 that had been sitting waiting when we walked in got their meal about 15 minutes later. They chowed snd bolted. They looked angry and didn't wait for the check. I assume they had been waiting for a while to eat. They walked up and asked to pay at the counter. The other couple left too, so only 2 tables remained. We waited and waited and waited some more. Now we've been here for about an hour an 1/2. The 1 plate of food came out for the other table. Then 5 minutes later another. Then we waited about 15 more minutes before ours came out. My daughters 1st and them 0 minutes later my wife and mine. A couple of tables in a restaurant and we wait almost 2 hours of eat. My daughter got sweet and sour beef and it was nasty. The veggies were almost raw and the meat was like mush. She compared it to soggy cereal that was sitting in milk for an hour. She took 2 bites and that was it. She was done. I ordered Spicy Eggplant with tofu and they brought me some sort of basil tofu. But at this point I wasn't about to order something else. It was ok. I ate it all. Just not what I ordered. My wife got what she ordered and said it was ok. She ate about 1/2.. In the end the waitperson bright us our $67 check along with a $15 gift-card for "next time". Since we had to wait and I was visually not happy. I left $70 and the gift card, that would have gone right in the trash anyway. I'm not sure how dinner for 3, with only a couple of other tables could take about 2 hours and cost $70, but I'm here to tell you it did. read more

What an incredible disappointment. We sat for 40min to wait for Pad Thai and there were only 3 people in the restaurant. When I asked she said, "10more minutes. So sorry we just put it in!!!" They let all the takeout orders go before ours, and we were sitting here for 40min- after we ordered. The people next to us got here after us, and got their food within minutes but they called and ordered ahead to eat inside. Note taken. Takeout orders have precedence over dining in. What horrid service!!! We had to keep asking the staff, they were NOT on it like a normal restaurant. Do NOT dine in! read more

When I was told to head to the burbs to celebrate my uncle's birthday, I was dreading my family's choice of restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised with Indra's. The appetizers were really good - especially the "Golden Pouch." It was sort of like Thai nachos. I ordered their special Indra's Noodles which has REAL crab meat. Yum! My mother, as usual, went crazy and ordered an abundance of other dishes to share, including Chicken Pad Thai. It's your average pad thai, good but not extraordinary. Servings are large enough to pass around "family style" so bring your appetite! Some of my cousins were yum-yumming over the Tom Yum soup. One of my cousins who recovering from the flu found it to be a big bowl of warmth, spice, and comfort. I definitely need to try this next time! Apparently, my parents and uncle are regulars there, as evidenced by the personal service they received from the waitstaff. Of course, I shouldn't be surprised as they love to chat it up with just about anyone who will listen! I can't say how happy and appreciative I am that some great thai food has finally found their way into the Orland Park area. I used to love Bua Thai a lot that used to be on Harlem near 159th as that was authentic and delicious. Thai Smile has been unpredictable, with some good days and some bad. Jewel of Siam is pretty good but the dining room is tiny and without double doors, is a freezing experience to eat there in the winter. That was a few years ago though. Indra's is awesome. The decor is very tastefully done and this is a family run restaurant. It sounds like they had a few rough weeks at the beginning but all is smoothed out now and they are a well-oiled machine. Their food is very carefully and thoroughly cooked, you can tell that the chefs care about each dish that they put in front of you, both in appearance and taste. Their Indra signature dish is amazing--they use a special spinach noodle that is so tasty. I've had their spring rolls which are delicious. The pad kee mao, garlic fried rice, and spicy basil were all excellent. One of my favorites are the custard dishes--OMG. So delicious and reminds me of the homemade desserts my family makes in India. I've had their mung bean custard, rice custard and yucca custard and I can't explain how delicious and unique they are. The service is very friendly and helpful. The chef frequently comes out to hang out to say hi to the diners and smile. When I inquired about gluten free noodles the waitress took the time to give me some options as to what I could order with the noodles that are GF which I really appreciated. They were able to make the signature dish with the GF noodles but unfortunately the crab tasted a little weird on the dish so I scooted those aside and proceeded to eat the rest. When the waitress came back to pick up the dish she was alarmed that I left the crab and I explained why. She rushed back to the kitchen to inform them of why I didn't eat the crab and they took 50% off the bill, no questions asked. That was really nice of them to do, without me even asking!
