This place used to be my favorite Thai spot. I used to come here very often. These last two times we did carry out they have forgotten one of our items. We live 20minutes away so that would've been a 40minute drive just to pick up something they forgot.! They returned the money for the item but did not offer anything for the inconvenience. The curry portions are extremely small. They charge $15 for the yellow curry. The bowl was not filled and had maybe 4-5 small pieces of chicken. Not worth it. They don't really advertise that they have gluten free options online but if you check out their menu I've posted they can make almost everything gluten free. The chive dumplings were FANTASTIC. Was tempted to order many more and take them home. They were crispy and flavorful. The dumpling portion tasted homemade. Second favorite was Pad Khee Mao with chicken. The extra wide rice noodles were phenomenal. The portions were generous and loaded with fresh ingredients. Third favorite was the Green Curry. It had a lovely spice, but if you're sensitive to heat I'd ask for it to be a bit more mild. We didn't ask for extra spicy or anything but it had a really lovely kick to it. Fourth would be the Basil Fried Rice with chicken. It was delicious and fresh. And lastly, the chicken Pad Thai. It was quite good, but this is a more common dish you can get elsewhere. Don't get me wrong, this was still fantastic and I would get it again. The staff here were soo sooo sooooooo nice too. Such kind ladies that genuinely seemed to be happy you were there. I wanted to love this place. Hard to find any good Thai on the south side. My go to is always Pad Khee Mao. The good: This place is cute. Prices are ok. Portions were fine. Friendly service. Noodles were cooked perfectly. The (medium-hot) spice was nice. The bad: The sauce was not good. It basically tasted like half a bottle of soy sauce. I love the vibrant, spicy, basil flavors of thai spicy basil dishes. This one was basically really dark, not sweet at all, overly salty and just generally a chore to eat. I didn't even finish my meal. If you can fix your sauce on this classic dish I would definitely come back, but as of right now I would give it 2 stars for flavor. Bumped to 3 stars for the rest of the good stuff about this place. Tiny chance I might try one of the other dishes and update my review as people seem to like this place. read more

This is probably our 5th time visiting. What is to love about this restaurant? First off, you'll always be greeted by a smile especially if Napha is the hostess / waitress, which she will be most often than not, as she shared it's a small family business. The booth seats have a cute signage that says "You and Me". Love, love that. Adorable for a partner with mutual adoration and into that mantra (me, lol). It's also quiet. You can speak softly to be heard (if you have WDL in hearing). I appreciate that Napha always repeats your order before stepping away. She also comes back after your dishes are served to make sure your food is alright. It has a very humble, tasteful interior decor. Every single dish is delicious! Love this place! It's small and cute tucked in a strip mall near Cal Sag Rd and Harlem. They recently reopened for dine in after the holidays. It's a family owned restaurant with delicious food. The prices have increased with inflation but the portions are still large and the service is top notch. There aren't many authentic Thai restaurants on the south side. If you are in the area and want some delicious Thai food please do stop in. My favorite dish is the pad see eiw with shrimp. First, the disappointing. $15 chicken green curry portion was ridiculously small. It's not an expensive dish, it was mostly sauce (tasty sauce but still, and it should have been enough for two meals for one person but it was about 2/3 the size most places provide for green curry at that price. Sadly also they only have green bell peppers, which I can't stand, no red to substitute, so they subbed other veggies but not enough. Chicken Basil was more generous portion but the chicken itself tasted almost gamey. Chicken satay was fine, peanut sauce delicious, super small bit of cucumber salad. Tom yum chicken soup was good, not great; plain mushrooms not the nice ones usually used in Thai soup. Upside: the pad Thai with pork was excellent; lots of pork, cooked perfectly, with a decent amount of garnishes (though some cilantro would have been a nice touch.) But again, usually an order of pad Thai gives me 3 portions at least and this was only two. So I spent $75 on 4 dishes & an appetizer that really should have been a lot of meals but wasn't. I get Thai food often so have a good basis for comparison. I'll just get the pad Thai next time. It really was good. read more

Yum! Finally a Thai place out here who really make the spicy food spicy when requested! They also have khao soi on the menu,which not all Thai places have. I tested positive for Covid about a week ago, so was stuck at home with a sore throat and congestion. My usual congestion remedy for years was khao soi from Opart. I think I might like the version from Tuay even more. Hard to believe, but there it is. My food arrived piping hot and a nice large portion. Noodles and veggies were separate and so were the fried crispy noodles, as they should be. It was delicious. I've heard of people losing their sense of taste from Covid or from Paxlovid (which I've been taking), fortunately I had no such issue. I tasted the coconut milk, spices, cilantro and everything. I devoured the whole bowl and was no longer hungry, yet sad I had no more khao soi to eat. Delivery with Door dash was no problem I also had some mussaman curry for the next day, and while also good, the khao is really where they shone for me. Went there for my mother's birthday. She wanted thai and this was the closest one in the area, but Ive never been there prior. Went above and beyond expectation, server was super polite and patient, food was so good and flavorful (orange chicken batter was crispy which is so good), and the ambiance was super welcoming and simple which is what I want. The Thai Restaurant that was there before Tuay Thai was just awful. We gave it about three tries and never went back. So we avoided anything Thai in that location based on that experience and wound up going to LaGrange to two locations we thought were pretty good ( I won't name them here so as not to deter the focus from Tuay Thai), but not as good as the original and first place I ever tried Thai food at (again, as much as I love it, will not name it) and always used this place as a standard upon which to compare other Thai Restaurants because it always uses fresh, simple ingredients and presentation, equaling consistent deliciousness. Nothing "fancyschmancy", as my grandma would say. Why am I telling you all of this? Because last night I had such a craving for Thai and my favorite place was a bit to far to drive to at 7:15 P.M. to make it in time before closing and I was already in LaGrange calling from the other two liked locations which were closed to indoor dining. Ugh! However, I remembered seeing a new name, Tuay Thai, on the old Thai location about a month ago, so I took a chance and called them. They stated they were opened until 8:00. I knew I could make it there to Palos Heights in 15 minutes or less from LaGrange, so, I made the mad dash for the game of exploration to satisfy my craving and nagging tastebuds! I was off! Arriving, I casually and curiously walked in, immediately greeted by this meekly soft and quiet Asian woman who gracefully seated us, handed us menus, welcomed us and offered us something to drink. We settled for waters down knowing we only had 30 minutes before they closed, we never felt rushed or pressured to hurry to order at any time during our visit and the young lady was pleasant and and conversed with us explaining the dishes being quite patient with us. We first ordered appetizers, waiting until after to order our entrees. We ordered Fresh Spring Rolls...delicious! Moreover, the Shrimp Tempura was excellent and like none I've ever had before! Fresh, tasty and extraordinarily extra crispy as it was wrapped and fried in noodles and not your typical tempura batter which can be somewhat soggy and greasy. They were great! I had Khao Soi and it was absolutely delicious! Folks, I tell ya', I will definitely be back! I live five minutes away, ya hoo, so I can come as often as I want and I will! Very happy with this restaurant. I love Thai food! My favorite dish is pad see ew, so it's always the first dish of a Thai restaurant that I order. I was very impressed. The Tom Kha soup was perfect. Some places will overpower the soup with coconut milk, but Tuay Thai has a perfect balance. I didn't see dessert on the menu but I asked anyway because I love Thai Custard.
