My husband is a "watch golf while having two beers" kinda guy, therefore an afternoon visitor. One afternoon I asked to come along as I was done cooking for the day. The bar is a sensory overload while having several screens turned to a main sports event there is another with amusing gags. Another screen is closed captioned with random offerings likely customer selected. In addition there is mostly country music playing in the bar. So he can be happy while consuming his super-cold beer and I have plenty of distractions too. There are always food specials on the board as you enter, and he and I have tried a goodly share of them. We revert to the ginormous hamburger often, which is served with fries or mac+cheese. Fries are good but that mac+cheese is spectacular! We've tried the baked oyster appetizer and loved it so much we ordered another as the main course. The soups have always been hardy and flavorful. Reuben s are my favorite and don't disappoint. The party nachos are over the top. I have had a few mixed drinks specials and since I can't bear too sweet I am guided through the offerings well. The owner has turned this former German restaurant into a welcoming place, always stopping by to ensure satisfaction. For starters, where else on earth can you find a 3-course meal for $20??? I've never had fondue before so I had a ton of questions for the staff. The manager actually came around and introduced herself to all the tables and was more than happy to stop what she was doing to explain to me all about the fondue. So the first course was cheese fondue, and they gave us broccoli, carrots, apples, pretzel bites, and French bread to dip in the cheese. The second course was all meats dipped in one of their flavored broths. We could pick from beef tenderloin, smoked sausage, chicken, scallops, shrimp (I may be forgetting, there may have been other choices too- their menu is huge!). The manager explained that a lot of places typically do this course with oil, but they use special broths for the added flavor. The last course was all chocolate fondue. They gave us all sorts of goodies to dip in the chocolate: rice crispies, marshmallows, cookies, bananas and strawberries, etc. The food here is always so good, and the fondue was no exception (and that's not even counting how many good drink options there are here). I'm so happy we lucked into stopping by here on fondue night. And seriously- where else is there where you can get so full on great food for only $20???? read more

We arrived around 5 PM for an early dinner. We were seated in a side room away from the busy bar area and given menus. It took a very long time (over 30 minutes) to get any servers to the side room. Another group showed up and sat at the only other clean table. They got a server right away but I think they were regulars. As their server was leaving I asked if he could stop by our table. The server seemed confused but came over. I ordered the pork chop dinner. The salad was good but the pork chops were very overcooked and only a small part was edible. I think the main focus of this place is only the bar and any food is an after thought. We had bottled drinks but being stuck in a side room with overcooked food and slow service pretty much made the dinner one we wont repeat. read more

We visited here at 7pm on a Friday night after a wake. We were seated the server seemed anxious to take our order. We ordered drinks and then food. Drinks tasted watered down. The food came about 25-30 minutes later one person had hair in their food. Overall the food lacked flavor. This was our first time here although we had heard good things about this place. read more

I've been to fire pit twice. The restaurant is very hot inside, uncomfortably hot. One of the times I went a meal never came.

Normally a pretty nice stop I would guess. However today it was terrible. Fondue night. which was advertised by them was a disaster. every course came out with a cold pot. cold cheese. cold broth and cold chocolate. we had a 6 pm reservation and left at 8:15 without being able to heat our entrees the chicken wings were excellent as appetizers but took 48 minutes to be served. i had 3 glasses of cabernet red wine. 2 were warm the third was very cold. super weird when i told the manager it was the worst meal i have had in 25 years she said oh. ok. but never once said im sorry. Whatever. zero people skills. Waitress was good and felt sorry for her. every table received cold pots of cooking liquid and two other tables left early. out of 5! 145$ of disappointing crap. hopefully the manager didn't steal the cash tip we left for the poor waitress who has to deal with that all night. Wife was so embarrassed but the restaurant surely was not. "It takes time to cook meat "was the closest thing i got to an apology: yes it does. especially when you bring out cold broth and think a sterno can is gonna do the trick . Gordon Ramsey ? well actually anyone with a brain could do way better. lucky for me i had some frozen white castles at home. super disappointed in the reaction and handling of an obvious blunder. but i assume the regular menu is probably good. as the wings were great. next time i have 3 hours and want to sit in. a room thats 85 degrees i will definitely stop in. I placed a pick up order and the person who took my order couldn't even answer my first question. I felt rushed when she proceeded to tell me a time when I had 4 other items to order. The online menu says kids meals come with a pop...I was told at pick up they don't. i ordered 3 kids meals. I ordered two orders of wings with blue cheese and celery...got none. I ordered a kids quarter pound cheese burger and there were no toppings included, nor was I asked if I wanted them. I also ordered a chicken Caesar salad and received no dressing. I was told 20 mins on the phone. It took over 40minutes. I paid over $50 + tip only to find everything missing. I will never come again nor do I recommend. read more

There are not many places to eat in this area, one would think that with limited competition you could capitalize on the location and service especially if your food is on point. Well we missed all the marks here. Service is less than stellar. Our server spent more time at the bar than with the table guests. Let's talk about food flavor profiles, if you think this food is good, you really need to venture out more. At least the Italiana restaurant across the street has good food as we have utilized the take out from there many times. Ok so getting back to this place. Was back in town visiting family after being away in California for a few years. I wanted a fun bar to meet up with friends while I was in town, my brother told me about this new place that opened shortly after I moved away, and thus I discovered the FirePit. Really fun friendly bar atmosphere on one side with a chill separate dining space on the other, depending what kind of mood you're in. SUPER good drinks (the bartenders recommended some new beers and cocktails based on what we said we usually order and we were not disappointed! The campfire shots were AWESOME.) The food was yummy too. I'm lactose-intolerant and one of my friends is super finicky but they went out of their way to accommodate the two of us. Definitely a lot more stuff on the menu that I wanted to try too (kicking myself in the ass for forgetting to bring Lactaid on my trip)! The lamb I had was SO good (slid right off the bone), and my buddies said the meatloaf pie and brisket they had were great too. Definitely missed this kind of cooking since I've moved! The owners came around and checked in on tables periodically. Really friendly couple, they mentioned to us about a bunch of events they hold at the bar. Sounds like a lot of cool live bands and bag tournaments and things going on pretty frequently, but unfortunately my flight was the next morning :( Cool atmosphere, lots of social events, yummy food, and AWESOME drinks. Hmmmm. 4.5 stars??! It must have been an off day for this place, because nyther the food nor service was 4.5 stars.. We ordered the soup and never got it. Iced tea was barely noticeable...very weak. My husband had the RON DON brisket sandwich. Meat was horribly tough & didn't taste like a smoky BBQ at all. It was just a scoop of meat with some BBQ sauce on it. THIS IS THE REAL CLINCHER: I ordered the FIERY BURGER, which says it comes with pepper jack cheese and grilled jalapeño peppers. So why was I charged for a SIDE OF JALAPEÑO PEPPERS??! No garnish for a burger??? No lettuce, tomato or onion. Mustard bottle barely had a squirt of mustard in it. Server was paying too much attention to drinkers to care about us....
