Friendly diner along the I-55 corridor. Older building that feels a little like grandma's house. Bathroom was clean and set up nicely. We stopped in for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Our hash browns were the best we've ever had at a restaurant. Seriously amazing and crisp. Fresh soup daily! Daily specials! Adult beverages! Hostess and wait staff were friendly and attentive. Shit show today!!! I just wanted a toasted everything bagel with vegetable cram cheese. After patiently waiting over a half hour, I got a plain cold bagel with veg cream cheese ..... they sent it back and "fixed it" and I got the sane thing again. I was out of patience at that point and left. Take peoples names when you take their order and call out their name when the order is ready. read more

I placed an order last Sunday. The Patty Melt was well seasoned and sautéed onions not over cooked. The seasoned fries, the outer layer had the perfect crisp. The chicken and rice soup was hot, great favoring and a was delicious. I highly recommend this meal. read more

The people here are very nice the food is good but lacks flavor you need salt and pepper for anything you order here forsure. It's ALWAYS busy and you barely ever can reach them by phone but the commute however far it is is definitely worth making. Every time I come to Yannis I am greeted by Friendly smiling faces. Mayberry's in town was crowded. So I thought I would try this place. I don't like to leave poor reviews but I have to. I never received my coffee that I ordered. Fortunately, I wasn't charged for it but I wanted it. My chicken noodle soup was cold and seemed like something from a can. I couldn't finish it. My roast pork entree was also cold. It's as though I received someone's leftovers that weren't reheated. I sorry to write this but I learned my lesson. Stick with Mayberry when I'm that way read more

Have moved to Manteno a little over two years ago and visited Yannis in numerous occasions. Very satisfied with the service each and every time. Never had any problem with any of my meals. Waitresses have always been friendly, courteous and professional. My wife and I will continue eating there as well as when I met a friend there for breakfast. read more

Walking in can be a bit intimidating. Almost like walking into someone's kitchen uninvited. As soon as you walk thru the door you're in the small dining room. All eyes on you. BUT the staff that I've encountered made me feel welcomed. The staff are friendly and accommodating. I don't live in the area and I only order when I'm at work but the the food is always hot and tasty. I have yet to have any complaints when I order from here. read more

I was in town for a baseball tournament and we stayed at an Airbnb nearby. We went around 9:30 on a Saturday morning, it was busy but we were seated within a few minutes. Prices are more than 25% Higher than what the website menu advertises. I expected to pay $36.00 for a call in order for the office and was surprised with a $60.00 bill! There is absolutely no warning about the credit card fee until it is time to pay. I do not like these sort of surprises. I will not be back. read more

This is a cute hometown restaurant. Waitresses seem very stressed though. I give 2 stars because I've been here a handful of times and every time their eggs have an awful taste. Almost like wet dog. & I mean every time!!! I also had a conversation with people who live in the town and they all say the same thing about the eggs. They just don't taste fresh at all and definitely something is off. Never had worse eggs. Hopefully they will look into this. read more

Five stars. For us lee go to yannis three or four times a week .for breakfast or lunch. Food is always good the staff is friendly. And effient. Coffee is kept refilled at breakfast. The owner is fantastic and will send extra soup home with us to help feed shut ins in our senior park. We love this place . read more

Greeted with smiles and warm hospitality, and barely sat down before server was there offering us hot coffee. Before we even entered tho, we noticed the posted signs out front protecting our constitutional rights. We travel a lot and this was a first! Our waitress was awesome. I accidentally ordered the wrong meal and she took care of it right away with no issue. My mistake and she still took care of me. A table full of law enforcement was there. We mentioned that we wanted to offer something to contribute to their meal and she said that's great and all but her boss already picked up their tab. Omg, YES, how cool. So proud and impressed. Our meal was delicious. Coffee, orange juice, crepes, skillets, all just delicious. Service was on point. Didnt need to ask for anything. Have been quite a few times and always pretty good. Service is good. However, so embarrassed today, met 2 friends and I picked the place and the food was terrible. French toast was burnt! And they still served it to 2 of us. Awful. Why? Another just had eggs. Everything plopped on plate... not a garnish, parsley, orange slice... could have even dusted that French toast with a powder sugar shake to try to hide it being blackened. read more

Our fellow Yelpers were right on target again. No nonsense breakfast and lunch cafe in downtown Manteno. Had a delicious and large Yanni's omelet stuffed with spinach, bacon, feta cheese and tomatoes. Large serving of hash browns. Substituted the toast for two yummy pancakes. The waitress said they make their own corned beef so we also ordered a reuben sandwich deluxe which was fantastic and came with hot (temperature) chicken noodle soup and (homemade?) cole slaw.
