While gassing up at a convenience store just off the interstate, my traveling companion said he really wanted to stop for some sliders at White Castle. Well, according to the GPS the nearest WC was over two hours away. But I was hungry so I grabbed a sandwich and snack at the gas station. My companion decided to continue on to to the WC and so we drove, and drove, and drove, and eventually arrived. Meh! I'm glad I didn't wait for my lunch. But in the interest of expanding my culinary horizons, I ordered a slider with a side of onion rings. I've actually never had a WC slider before because they are not located where I live. And I probably won't stop again, especially if it means driving two hours to get there. I can understand why many people like WC sliders. They're small, they're cheap, you can buy them by the box full, and a few will fill you up -- especially of you have the "munchies." But for me the "convenience store chicken salad sandwich" I bought two hours earlier was tastier -- I found the slider quite dry and bland and the onion rings excessively greasy -- and and my sandwich and snack was comparably priced to a bag of WC sliders with a side. I should also mention that the cleanliness of the facility was subpar -- I could only find one table that was sufficiently clean, and even during a lull in service, no one emerged from behind the counter to clean up the dining room. If the "front of the house" is not kept up, you can only wonder about what the "back of the house" might be like. read more

The last 3 times I've been to this location has absolutely sucked..where to start. 1. The front doors are locked making drive through the only option. 2. The bag I was given was falling apart from the grease and even the sliders were disassembled in the container. 3. The drive thru wait times was horrendous. 4. We are very disappointed with our visit to White Castle today. They weren't very busy and it still took 20 minutes to get our food. The dining area was filthy. The floors looked like they hadn't been swept since the day before. Not one clean table. We picked the cleanest dirty one to eat at. There were no napkins, ketchup or salt in the dispenser area. Which also looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Our food was not warm, let alone hot. I don't know why they ask "is this for here or to go" because we didn't get a tray, it was all in bags. And to top it all off, there was a white hair stuck to one of my onion rings. When I gave it to the manager she said nothing. Just made a face and threw it away. Went inside yesterday at the Bradley, Il location and the floor was so sticky like a drink had been dropped on the floor by the register and never mopped up. There were no napkins in the holder and it took about 10 minutes to get 2 sliders. Two stars only because its not the foods fault that people at this location don't know, how to be DIVERSITY friendly, or warm food. Its about 2-3 am, last Saturday, picking up some food after a long drive down here to drop off a friend. Decided on some jalapeno cheese burgers and some chicken rings. Whats wrong with you people, peeking in windows? shoo now , go away" My friend who was the driver, korean guy, both of us, dressed pretty fcukin awesome, it is a Saturday night, we don't look drunk, we aren't driving a crummy car. We both hold our tongues, we haven't gotten our food yet, if I curse her out, we may have to eat spit and urine stained cheeseburger all the way home. Of course we drop the smiles, he says kindly " we were waiting for our food." Then this chick says.. "oh".. " well, I didn't know.. " doesn't apologize for being rude. One of the staff members here is SO rude. I ordered a crave case and asked for them to put the everything sauce on the sliders. Well, they forgot to put the sauce so I went back in after waiting in the drive through for 20 minutes, I wasn't even upset they forgot the sauce as mistakes happen and I figured they could just add it, but the lady who made the sliders was so rude. She yelled at me that that wasn't how it got rung up and rolled her eyes like that was my fault and then snatched the box from my hand and threw it in the trash. She then proceeded to yell "well do you want everything sauce, ketchup, what do you want" in a very rude tone even though I had just asked if she could add the everything sauce to the ones in the box. The burgers are pretty much the same whatever WC you visit. This one has decent food. However, when they still had an open dining room it was CROWDED - this was the pre-Covid days. It's hard to get around the restaurnt - to get soda or go to the bathroom without knocking into someone. Need a MUCH larger space. read more

I was sitting in the hotel I was staying at watching the football game and drinking Old Style tall cans. I started to get hungry so I went over to this local White Castle for eight sliders and some fries. I brought them into my room looking like a pervert with a dirty magazine. I opened the sack, brought out the burgers and Man they tasted fine going down. About 3 am, the White Castle Curse hit me. I began farting and didn't stop farting until noon the next day. One major blast split the back of my pants and knocked a flock of sparrows out of a nearby shrub. After standing at the register for over five minutes without any acknowledgment of our existence, a youngster finally came to wait on us, but was interrupted by another high schooler who had to enter an Uber order. The food was great but the restrooms should be a little more clean. Also they forgot some of my order but they were really understanding when I asked for the food they'd forgotten. Overall White Castle is a great place to eat with the kids also the burgers are small and cute and they will fill your kids right up. This is also one of my favorite places to get a strawberry shake!
