They handmake their salsa and chips every single day. The fish in their tacos is tilapia, slightly breaded and crunchy, yet soft and firm. I should have taken a picture, but I devoured them so quick ! I highly recommend this restaurant. Dos Amigos has a lot of other types of food besides Mexican; they have pizza, puffs, hotdogs, a poor boy meal plus spaghetti. But they offer the best Mexican fare!

I pointed this out and asked them to either refund my money or make me a proper one. He said they would make me another one and he brought it out. It had meat, lettuce, a little sour cream, and two little squares of tomato placed strategically at the opening of either half. Still no cheese, still no onion and no other tomato other than the two little squares. I didn't feel like dealing with it again, so I just took it. Then we went to leave and he said that they were out of sacks. If you want to eat there again, you better hurry because I don't think they're going to be there long.

My wife and I have been here a few times and I will say it is very off putting in appearance at first. It's on the corner of a strip mall, it is a bus stop for a few of the Mexican bus lines and the interior is a little outdated, but man the food makes up for it. We have both tried numerous things on the menu and we have liked everything we have had so far. It all has good flavor and spice. I don't recall either of us having anything bland. The serving sizes are huge, which I will never complain about, I usually like having leftovers. The prices are on average with the other restaurants in the area, but I feel like you get more. I am a Guacamole snob. I love it, but many places have it and some do not make it right. TDN does an excellent job with their guac. You also get a good amount for what you pay for, which can't be said for many other places. We have also never had an issue with the wait staff. They always seem to be on top of things and will come often to refill drinks and such. I have and will suggest Taco Del Norte to people who live in or are visiting the Kankakee area. It's only a few minutes directly south of I-57.

The corned beef could've had a few more slices, but it's not scanty by all means, I just prefer a super thick sandwich. The onion rings were crunchy and the onions were from real sliced onions and not the commercially bagged rings. Overall we're happy with the food and will be back to try their other menu items.

I'll be honest it doesn't look like much from outside; it's a small place. But do not judge a book by its cover! But I ordered my super king burrito with pastor and no sour cream, and was very pleased with my meal. Roughly 10" long and packed with food, no refried beans running out. The pastor was cooked well and had a strong taste. It doesn't need hot sauce, but it does taste better with hot sauce. Taco Burrito King may not be the most authentic Mex place around. As I'm waiting for him to remove it from the bill, I say "Normally sangria has alcohol in it" and he goes "No it doesn't". I'm flat out flabbergasted at this point. That's what I'm telling them. But why are they only now realizing what I'm talking about?! They acted like they'd never heard of normal sangria before, even after I'd described it to them ("it has alcohol!"). After being proven by Wikipedia, NOW he knows what it is! Honestly, the food is ok, good enough that I want to go back. But I'm so upset that I had to spend an extra 3 minutes at the register basically arguing with these people about something they should be very knowledgeable about, that I also want to be able to never go back there again.
