I had already ordered a dinner special. I tried to order sangria. They added 75¢ to the price, so I got suspicious. Why would sangria cost only 75¢ more than a watered down fountain drink? I said I want to see the bottle, and the guy waiting for me to pay. I repeat that I'd like to see the bottle. He's waiting for me to pay. I tell him that I'd like to read the bottle. He continues waiting for me to pay. I say Me Gusta ver the bottle (I'm trying hard at this point). Still no success. I say Can I See The Bottle while walking to the refrigerator and he finally hands it to me. I read it and it says "Sangria soda". I continue reading and it says Less Than 0.5% alcohol. I start laughing and I'm say out loud "this is not sangria". The guy goes "That's the name." I'm lowkey offended. I don't care what the name is, that's not sangria. You can call a Kia a BMW, but that doesn't make it so. He should know what I mean. No normal person would call that sangria. I tell him I don't want it and we're back at the register. As I'm waiting for him to remove it from the bill, I say "Normally sangria has alcohol in it" and he goes "No it doesn't". I'm flat out flabbergasted at this point. There's another employee standing next to him nodding her head! Both of these people are Hispanic. I'm confused beyond all belief. So I pull out my phone and google one word, "sangria". Wikipedia is a top result and I tap it. I show them the very first two sentences, which say "Sangria (English: /sæŋri/ sang-GREE-, Portuguese: [si.]; Spanish: sangría [saŋi.a]) is an alcoholic beverage originating in Spain and Portugal. A punch, sangria traditionally consists of red wine and chopped fruit, often with other ingredients or spirits." The guy goes "ohhhh that's same name but different". Yeah no shit it's different. That's what I'm telling them. But why are they only now realizing what I'm talking about?! They acted like they'd never heard of normal sangria before, even after I'd described it to them ("it has alcohol!"). After being proven by Wikipedia, NOW he knows what it is! Honestly, the food is ok, good enough that I want to go back. But I'm so upset that I had to spend an extra 3 minutes at the register basically arguing with these people about something they should be very knowledgeable about, that I also want to be able to never go back there again. Was all that a ploy to get me to spend a measly extra 75¢ ?? How else does a fluent Spanish speaking Hispanic not know what sangria is? Even the word sangria comes from sangre (blood), because of the red color, which comes from RED WINE! I'm so disgusted! And both of those people tried to act like I'm an idiot for thinking that sangria has alcohol in it! I told them that I'd never heard of sangria not having alcohol before and they acted like I was crazy. This area is sooo desolate that I'm most likely going back there very soon. BUT I'm asking both of them about this again. They will have some time to have thought about it and we'll see what they say. Taco Burrito King is a small chain with a few locations in the suburbs. Has pretty decent prices mostly. Unfortunately all the food sucks. I have tried a Veggie King Burrito. It's $9.25 for a pretty big one so you get a lot. This is a lukewarm mess. Barely even hot. This has beans, cheese, green peppers, grilled onions, guacamole, lettuce, sour cream, and tomatoes. Leave off the dairy items for vegans of course. This is hardly worth paying anything for. Bad and cold. It has big burritos but it doesn't matter if you won't eat it. This makes Taco Bell seem fucking stellar. read more

If you want soup in a burrito, this is the place for you! Pastor tasted more like BBQ, & not a good one, was so watery it needed to be strained! Cheese wasn't even melted inside. Ordered guacamole in it, and you could only tell it was in because of the glimpse of green in the soup that poured out of my soup rolled in a tortilla. I ordered the Fajita Plate off the menu...I chose the steak for my meat option and received a huge plate full of food, wasn't expecting that much food. It was really filling and delicious. I have said it before, but this time I mean it... I will never go back here again. I keep going even though the service and food is disappointing is because living in Wilmington, IL leaves very few convenient Mexican options available. This time I asked for a Super King burrito and asked for extra meat. My hubby and I share it. However this time the meat was less than the regular amount I normally get, the meat was tasteless and salty, there was so little bean that I couldn't taste it and there was a smidge of lettuce and tomato. Seems like they had a little rush and decided not to put extra meat down and split the meat between all orders. Previously I have been told there was no steak left, and had to choose pork instead, only for a male to come in and ask for steak. He refused another option and was going to leave, so they whispered to him that they had fajita steak to substitute. I knew that they were planning on offering because I understand Spanish, which they were unaware of, and conveyed it between themselves. Customer service has always been lacking here; I ask for my tortilla to be crispy, it is always soggy, ask for extra salsa I get 2 which others get anyways, and now they Rip me off on meat I paid extra for. I will just have to inconvenience myself and travel further, I will never step foot in this place again! read more

Before hitting a haunted corn maze last night, the Dude and his brother made a run for takeout at Taco Burrito King. I perused the takeout menu before they went and was impressed by the low prices. I ordered a steak sope and a steak taco for less than five smackers. The steak was seasoned nicely and they threw on toppings that some places tend to either forget or assign an upcharge (hooray for sour cream!). The Dude had a cheese quesadilla and a veggie tostada that was covered with lots of fajita vegetables. He was full, happy and ready to tackle the haunted corn maze! Bonus points: homemade hot sauce that is actually hot! This place is right by the Dude's brother's house, so I'm sure we'll be visiting again! read more

Especially when he is painting 1300 sq ft of our house by himself and not complaining one bit! With paint covered hands and a toddler in tow, I made the quick drive to Taco Burrito King. It is a ghost town, but its Channahon, not Chicago. The food was great, and I loved they have a daily special. The customer service was bleh, but they were quick and still polite. My husband loves coming here for lunch for a king size steak burrito, with the green hot sauce! He finally got me to cave in to giving it a try. So, we took the family (us and our kids 4 and 3). I had the ground beef taco plate, the kids split a quesadilla plate, and he had his usual, and a large horchata. The 4 of us ate well for just over $20. My tacos were very good! Haven't really tried too many things here. Their enchiladas were o.k. & their burritos are the main trump card for this place, especially with the pork as the meat, which was very flavorful. Make it a super king burrito and you can save your money & get 2 meals out of it. I've noticed that ordering over the phone can be a little tricky since there were moments when me & the TBK recipient couldn't understand each other.
