Authentic and really good. We have been to Poland several times, and this stacks up writing against the best food we've had over there.

Me and my grandma had been here before, the food is amazing, and it was my favorite restaurant. However, the last time I went here with my boyfriend, we had gotten chemical poisoning from the water. We immediately felt extremely nauseous and dizzy after taking a few sips of the water. The staff was notified of the issue, but claimed it was just the lemon & mint flavouring and not our suspicion of leftover cleaning chemicals. I am rating this restaurant 3/5 because the food was delicious and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. I am taking off a few stars for being poisoned and getting very sick. This could have easily been prevented if staff made sure there was no soap or bleach cleaning agents in the vessel before use. Staff, please make sure you are cleaning everything properly after use so no one else gets highly sick.

This restaurant has been on my list for sometime. I had the beef goulash with dumplings and my guest had the Highlighter Special which was beef stew with potato pancakes. Both meals were delicious. My tip would be to ask for extra plates so you can split dishes . Our server Klaudia did a wonderful job. I was disappointed that they changed a credit card processing fee and it was not posted.

Brought the whole family this time for dad's birthday, all 17 of us, and the service and food was outstanding again. We were seated in one of the side rooms which was perfect for the younger kids. A couple pierogi plates and bottle of limoncello were great to get us started. I had the beef stroganoff this time and wow, just wow. Wife had the polish plate and loved it again. My son had a half slab of ribs and wish he ordered the whole slab. Can't wait to return, we can't get enough of this place!

Traditional polish restaurant with hearty homemade food. We stopped while on the road, got soup, sausage and a half order of pierogis- delish-quick and perfect! Will definitely be back for their generously portioned dinners. The staff was warm and inviting as well.

First timer! It was a delight to partake in a Polish culture for Dinner time. Nad Tatrami Polish Restaurant was amazing. Located in Monee, IL. The inside of the establishment was decorated with the cutest decor. The waitresses even dressed in their cultural entire. Our waitress named was Claudia. She was super funny and very kind. We ordered the Beef Stroganoff & Dumplings along with the Polish plate and mushroom soup. Everything looked so tasty, flavorful and smelled delicious! I can see the Polish Culture authenticity through their cuisines waiters and the restaurant atmosphere. I really enjoyed everything about Nad Tatrami Polish Restaurant. I will definitely be back to try other entrees on the menu. Gotta check em out!

    Polish sampler. Really tasty.

What a cool place. Delicious Polish food in a charming restaurant in a charming small midwestern town. The service was friendly and competent. As far as I can tell it is a far drive from most places, but well worth it! We had a polish sampler plate. The kielbasa was the best I've had. So was the potato pancake. Seriously -- give this place a try!

Small in size but so big on the inside with great service. You feel like you stopped at someone's house to eat they are that welcoming . Our server Eva was beyond amazing she was the only one but she took the time for a one on one experience. Food and service can compare with any 5 star restaurants in the big city but you get the small town feel here

Walking in, you feel like you were in an old school comfortable family type restaurant. The buffet is incredibly large filled with so many goodies. Beer served to a perfection - you can't go wrong with a Żywiec draft! If you are visiting Chicago - take the journey here - you will come out feeling like you just had dinner with one huge family. I didn't really have much of the salad bar with coleslaw and whatnot. It looked decent. The bread is on the top of one of the sections. A couple of people I was with missed those pieces of bread, but I'm glad they said something because we were able to point them to it. The chicken, the sauerkraut, the pierogies were all good. We had the lunch menu, so it's a little bit different than the dinner menu, but everything was tasty and tasted fresh. The desserts were absolutely out of this world. I didn't know what everything was. I asked my waitress or server, who was picking up our plates and whatnot, and she told me. I have to say it was a revelation to know that they actually make all of their desserts as well. Absolutely fantastic. Good flavor. Our server was really excellent. I'm sorry I didn't get her name. She gave us some good information about meat pierogies being available or other types of pierogies if they're not on the lunch bar, which was really cool. For a lot of people, the place may be a little difficult to get into with a walk and whatnot. I wasn't really aware of all the entrances, but one thing to note is it is on the more dimly lit side. Not so much so as to be annoying, it actually sets a nice vibe. I absolutely love that the staff has a sign up there to discourage unattended children from running rampant by the food bar, which I think is very fair and nicely stated. That made me feel good, too, that we had quality control in effect versus other cafes that I've been to where I know the places try, but they don't do a really good job of monitoring the situation. No such issue with Sawa. They did a great job on that front. One issue I did have was with the bathroom. It seemed like a stall. The door opens up really wide into the area where we've been washing our hands, but everything was well maintained and well kept. That made me feel good. Overall, I will say I enjoyed the experience, and I'm looking forward to going back. I specifically want to check out the dinner options because I really enjoyed the lunch, but I want to try out a few other things that they have for the dinner menu. My pictures did not turn out with the lighting, so I'm not going to post them, but needless to say, the food was very good, and I'm definitely looking forward to going back, as I mentioned. The service was excellent, and I think the price was pretty fair for all the food I just ate, so I was definitely pleased.

You can order them frozen to go home and cook on your own - or have them cooked to order. I also got the order of polish sausage w/kraut and some fries. The polish sausage is snappy and the kraut is great. The bun I could do without, but I just removed it and ate on it's own. The fries were salty with a mix of crispy and soggy ones. A True Gem for Polish Cuisine Lovers!…read more We had the pleasure of visiting Delight Wish on a Thursday night, and what a fantastic experience! Our party of two was seated right away, with no wait, making for a relaxed and enjoyable evening. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and I absolutely love the huge wooden tables--plenty of room to spread out all your plates and truly savor the meal. Their drink selection is impressive, featuring a great variety of European beers, wines, sparkling wines, and classic Polish/Eastern European liquors. I ordered a Prosecco (they offer convenient, single-serving bottles--such a great touch!), while my friend opted for a Perła (Polish beer) with raspberry syrup. If you've never tried this combination, I highly recommend it! It's a nostalgic taste of Polish summers--a crisp Polish lager or pilsner with a hint of raspberry syrup. For food, I ordered the sauerkraut and mushroom pierogi, while my friend chose the potato and cheese (ruskie) pierogi. We both had them fried to perfection and served with sour cream on the side. Absolutely delicious! I also added a side of beets with horseradish (a perfect complement to the pierogi) and a serving of bigos (hearty and flavorful--just as it should be!). The prices are reasonable, the portions generous, and the flavors authentic. Plus, while you're there, you can pick up Polish bread, candy, chocolates, and chips to take home, making it a perfect spot to stock up on your favorite treats. I'll definitely be back--and if you're in the area, this is a must-try!

Sour Rye Soup: Not bad, but honestly, I wouldn't order it again... the fermented sourness was just too direct and intense. Polish Hunters Stew: Apparently a national dish of Poland. The first bite tasted like Italian meat sauce, with a rich tomato flavor and a slight smoky aroma; then I discovered the ingredients included sausage, cured beef brisket, minced meat, and sauerkraut, making it quite substantial and much more satisfying than Italian meat sauce. Overall, it was a rich, sweet and sour flavor, perfect with rice, pasta, or bread. Sauerkraut & Mushroom Pierogi: Dumplings, but the Polish version. The sauerkraut was only slightly sour, refreshing and delicious with the mushrooms, while the sour cream added a touch of creaminess and richness. Unfortunately, the skin was thick and sticky, as if it had been boiled for a long time. For better dumplings skin, please turn to a Northeastern Chinese. Half Duck: Strangely, it reminded me of confit de canard. The meat was incredibly tender, falling off the bone with a gentle pull; the melt-in-your-mouth texture was truly delightful. The cranberry sauce was perfectly balanced between sweet and sour, with a rich fruity and fermented aroma. The rosemary emerged in the aftertaste, enriching the flavors and cutting through the richness. The accompanying sauerkraut was even better than the duck, with a crunchy texture and a mild, pleasant sourness, enveloped in a rich buttery and creamy flavor. The accompanying fpotatoes were also soft and delicious, but the roasted pear was too overpowering in its softness and sweetness, not meeting my expectations for a palate cleanser. Table Bread: The bread itself was unremarkable, but the generous amount of butter was commendable. I cannot believe that there is only one server for all the tables.
