Friendly service, quality food. Love the atmosphere, clean and friendly

I was in the area visiting family, and we decided to stop in for a bite. I have an affinity for diners, so I was excited to visit. We visited around 4:30 pm on Friday evening and were seated promptly. My brother ordered the ribs, and my sister had the fried chicken. I opted to play it safe and only ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. My brother enjoyed the ribs, but my sister said the chicken had no flavor whatsoever. I had a bite, and I completely agree. It was as if someone just fried the chicken without seasoning it. My sandwich was fine, just as I expected. The fries, however, were nothing special. I assume that they came from a bag in the freezer. We all ordered the cream of chicken rice soup, which was delicious. My sister and I enjoyed it so much that we ordered some to-go. The vibe was relaxed and comfortable. I liked the old Western feel. Our waitress was attentive and friendly too, which was awesome. I'd probably stop in again for another sandwich or burger. read more

Omg what happened to this place went there today,,my husband had a twisted tea, they didn't have jack for my coke , so I had to make something up..the food was, was nasty, the chili was watered down, potatoes skin no flavor..the waitress new us to take the order, I ask her for a cup 3 times..it took the bartender that didn't wait on us ,, she was very polite,,to finally get my cup and bill..This place has gone down... read more

Food was decent but delivered warm, not hot. Fries and hamburger just warm. Jalapeño peppers were pickled from a can. For a $14 burger, I expect it to be hot and don't use cheap ingredients like pickled hot peppers. Slow service but they were busy read more

Started things off with a blended lime margarita that was huge... I had the chopped steak with blue cheese sauce on top with mashed potatoes and green beans... the steak was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside... The blue cheese sauce was a little salty but acceptable. .. the mashed potatoes were creamy and tasty with the gravy. The only problem was the green beans were way over cooked! My friend had the deep fried catfish with green beans... he said the catfish was cooked perfect but said his green beans were also over cooked. Both our meals came with soup... I had the split pea and my friend opted for the clam chowder. Both were very tasty. Service was prompt and good... Atmosphere is your typical neighborhood bar type eatery. read more

I have been a steady customer for 9 years, Brian knew me and greeted me by name. You can tell that Brian is retiring or retired. There is a severe change in the attitudes of the wait staff that would not be tolerated when Brian was there. The food is still good, but there was an increase in price that was noticeable. I do not pay more for workers to treat me poorly. And apparently after 40min of waiting to get my order taken, I was told it was my fault. I am Sorry that Brian is gone, I will advise the people I work with what happened and leave it to them if this place is preferred. Myself, after 9 years I am calling it quits, the place lost its soul when Brian sold it. read more

If the place is busy, expect to wait for service... a little over an hour before food will be on the table. Food can be hit or miss. The pancakes and hash browns were served a bit blackened today. But the country fried steak, sausage gravy, and cinnamon apples were very yummy. read more

Had the Monday taco special...was good but no salsa for tacos which made them really dry. Service? Took our order, delivered it, never came back to ask "do you need anything?" Never brought the check either...could've walked out without paying. Asked other server to bring the check...too many other restaurants, out there that HAVE IT TOGETHER! Just ate here not long ago and I LOVED the food! I had the chicken strips and seasoned curly fries. The decorations were nice too! It wasn't to bright and flash or too dark and boring, it was perfectly lit and had great tv channels and music! The staff was also VERY kind! Hope to eat here again some time. read more

Stopped at this place on the way home from a Bears game. We were greeted right away and told to seat ourselves. Place was really clean and motif was very eccentric and eclectic. The menu includes a large variety of options with daily specials. Prices were incredible and portion sizes great. They also have a full bar. Are server was very good. We will definitely be back on our way through. read more

Awful....... Our waitress was awful. Rude. Got our order wrong 2 times. Never apologized. Blamed us that we ordered wrong. We had to flag her down multiple times. A fight broke out during our dinner , the cops were called. Monee and Will county cops showed up. Did not feel safe after that. Terrible. We have come for years. We won't be back. We will also deter people we know to go there. Sad to see. read more

Took my niece and nephew here for a cheeseburger and some cheesesticks...I had the MonteCristo. First time and was really impressed. The food was very good and the portions were decent. The menu has many items to try. Will def' be back. The only downside was it took a while to get the food...they werent that crowded...Saturday around noon. Still...a DEFINITE MUST TRY! Nice place, food is good. Some items are really good. Friendly place. Bar and restaurant, bar dominates, back room has more tables. Can be under staffed and times slow getting the check, not bad getting your order placed though. I go here often, burgers and fries are really good, the soups are also very good. read more

Relive them cowboy days at this lil' bar an' restaurant in Monee. YEEEE-HAW! Love the Old West decor in the dining room and bar. And the lightin' seems to add to the feel, 'specially on a sunny day. The bar is respectable there (which I'm findin' VERY important). And to let you know, they let kids in the restaurant, so all the whole family can come in. It's a good stop for a couple hankerin' for some old West feelin'. It's even better for a family with a little 'un who loves the Old West. However, it does always seem to be crowded at that waterin' hole. read more

I've ordered several times now using Grub Hub, they consistently wait until the estimated delivery time is just about done then cancel the meal. Tonight's excuse the kitchen was closed and they couldn't make the meal. If they are closed why did they confirm the order and wait an hour to cancel it! read more

Food: The food is average. There is better food in Monee. Service: I've only ordered pickup and the service was fine. I've ordered twice during Covid (trying to support a local small business) and only one member of the staff wore a mask. I could see the cook walking around in the back without a mask. Politics: They can't stop at putting up pro-Trump messages and signs. They have to go a step further and bash democrats and Joe Biden on their store sign. Thanks for letting me know I'm not welcome. Stopped in on a recommendation from a friend of mine because i was working in the area. Ordered a classic Bacon Cheddar Burger, medium rare with fries. Also, add a soup for $1! Dont mind if i do- got the Chicken Dumplin'. Soup was first, not overleat creamy or thick. Perfect amouth of dumplin's and chicken. Great flavor as well! Burger, the bun looked enormous. However was very light and airy and held the burger perfectly. Bacon was nice and crisp, burger temp preference med rare was on the money! Juicy burger, basically melted in your mouth! Was on point. I'm from out of town, in the area for a few days and I've been there twice already. I will go back. My dad grew up around the area and he goes here all the time. Great place to meet up with friends after work for a few drinks and a good down home meal. On Monday's they have Taco Monday. The BEST blanket taco's I have every had. And during the summer there is a sand volley ball league you can watch or if you are lucky enough to get on the list to play in. Good times! The owner has many events during the year there as well. Brain has the best burgers. They serve a half pound burger with all kinds of crazy toppngs, fries and Cole slaw for $6. Brain's is the Kuma's corner of the south side. Same atmosphere but half the price with plenty of seating indoor and outside. Never a wait. A great place to take the Harley for ride to. read more

What a fun John Wayne lovin place this is. The only watering hole for miles and it's full of locals. Heavy pours and friendly people. The décor is early ghost town with about 200 pics of the Duke for good measure. The Monee fest was a dud, so this was a natural. Good times! read more

It's a townie bar. I've been there three times and each time I felt like I wasn't welcome. The first time we went my friends and I (dressed in business casual) didn't get service for 40 minutes. The waitress only came over when she saw us leaving. Understand that the wait staff will not serve you alcohol if you are not sitting at the bar as well (a little odd for a bar). The patrons were fine but the staff were down-right rude. If your family isn't from Monee I wish you luck getting service. read more
