My single burger and small fries came to around $9 bucks which is a little expensive for what you get. But I guess the worst part of my visit was when I needed to use the restroom........ I came here with my boss for lunch and I was glad we chose Schoop's. I ordered a mushroom & swiss burger w/ fries and he tried the chicken club sandwich w/ onion rings. Our waitress was very prompt and kind and brought out our food quickly. I've got to say that that was the best mushroom & swiss burger I've had in a long time. Watched two other tables be seated and get their food promptly and still waited another 15 min after that to recieve our food. Total time from order taken until we got our food was close to 45 mins. The food comes and its just OK, and the waitress didnt come by to see how things are until we are halfway thru our breakfast. No apology, no manager visit, nothing. It was nice to find this gem while staying in Monee during a business trip. The place is really clean with a 1950s feel to it. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. I had a chess burger and fries. The burger was so tender it came apart as I was eating it, but that didn't slow me down! Mold in the kitchen, they pay off their health inspectors, machines don't get cleaned properly, they over work their underage employees and the boss Patti pushes the servers around(literally), and they try to short their workers on their paychecks. They lost their last business probably due to the lack of cleanliness. Otherwise they have great food if you like your burgers unseasoned and your food coming out of dirty fryers. I love to have breakfast here. The waitresses are so friendly and give great service, the bacon is thick and crisp, the food comes pretty quickly and is still piping hot. Yesterday I was pretty hungry so I got the "mickey" (their featured hamburger) and a chocolate shake. Both the food and the service were top-notch, they also play great oldies and Hank Sr. while you eat. Today I got the "Little Ben" (mini burger) and a delicious cup of beef and barley soup. It breaks my heart to see people going through the KFC/Taco Bell drive-through with such a great place next door. They don't know what they're missing. read more
