This was my first time here. My grandma wanted a burger for dinner and I personally did not want to go to the same old places in the area, so I googled burgers. Which lead me to find Retro Burger. They have pretty good reviews and it is super close to her home, so I decided on going there. They had a decent crowd of people when I pulled up. Major props to one man doing it all alone!! Even taking phone orders. I didn't wait long, maybe 15-20 min am fine waiting for fresh food. I ordered two meals and when I got home, I was impressed. The french fries were good. Not too soft, just the right thickness and flavor. The Burger looked and smelled amazing. My grandma was just raving how good it was. I had the chicken sandwich which was good (I don't eat beef and tbo it is rare I find an amazing chicken sandwich). The ingredents were very fresh and the bun was perfect on both. They only have cans of pop which I prefer. I also, was happy to see the sandwich packaging is compostable, that is bonus points!!! All in all this is a 5 star!! We will be back. I just had the best burger and hot dog here while i was working in crestwood. They offer lots of free toppings and premium extras. So you get it the way you want plus the owner cuts it all fresh to order! Buns are fluffy meat is flavorful and toppings are FRESH like everything else. This comfortable place serves phenomenal Burgers, Hot Dogs and service. If you're in town and want a great bite instead of all the poisonous food thats around stop and and show some love at this homemade burger spot. Quaint roadside truck styled box, two tables but thankfully the weather was ideal for dining outside despite the wind taking away our napkins. A bit awkward relaxing payment is taken after the eating! Seems a more obvious solution to proving out quality dining in however I bet people forget like we nearly did. Loved the simple menu, many free toppings, excellent options and freshly made beef. Onion rings were surprisingly tasty too. It's a quality burger joint! read more

This looks like an old school burger stand, easy to miss when driving down Cicero. My mom was getting an infusion across the street so I was looking for lunch in the area. The burgers are amazing! Huge fresh made to order smash burgers with unlimited free toppings. I ate the whole burger and needed a nap afterwards but it was too good to save for later. I will say they are a little pricier than I expected. For a cheeseburger, fries, and Pepsi it was almost $15. In the future, I will only get the burger with unlimited toppings and skip the fries and drink, save myself $5. read more

Literally incredible. I stopped by and got a bacon cheeseburger special and it was phenomenal. The bacon is the thick crispy kind not the crappy soggy microwaved kind, the burger Patty's are thick and Juicy, the bun was toasted, and the onions and mushrooms were grilled to perfection. The fries were really good too but not as much to write home about as that burger just standard shoestring fries that had a decent amount of salt. The only caviot is, it's a little pricey since for a bacon burger with onions and mushrooms with fries and a drink it was about 17-18$. Thought I'd try this place since I live closeby. $20 for a burger and a side of tater tots......and the meat on the burger looked weird and had a strange texture when I was chewing it. Is this 100% beef or something else mixed in??? After I placed the order and tried to hand him my debit card to pay, he sort of turned his back on me and walked away saying he'll take my payment when he's done making the food. Wow, really? What's with the attitude?? They close at 7pm and on 5pm on Saturdays. What kind of a burger place closes early like that? So to summarize: Expensive, weird meat, and attitude. The name implies that it comes from the past, however their high quality ingredients and simple, clean aesthetic imply that they are well versed in executing the modern, fast-casual experience. The customer service experience was friendly and efficient. I ordered their burger and fries. They started making my burger as soon as it was ordered. I think my whole order took less than 3 minutes. Everything was super fresh. I loved the warm brioche bun and the fatty, salty patty. The fries were perfectly cooked, their flavor and texture reminded me of a non-crinkle version served by a popular Chicago chain whose name rhymes with "pillows". Fantastic burger and fries! You can tell by the quality that they use fresh ingredients. I've been here a couple of times now and haven't been disappointed yet. Honestly, I don't understand some of the negative reviews. "They don't give out free water...". What? Is this 1986? Or, "my fries were cold when I drove home, so they weren't good." Sheesh. I have yet to try a burger here, but their Chicago Dogs are absolutely perfect. Cheese fries are the "McDonald's thin-style" kind, which are very tasty and absolutely HUGE, perfect for sharing.
