I had an Italian beef with hot peppers, very good. Hot crispy fries and a delicious chocolate shake. Very reasonably priced.

Quick and efficient with food service. Food itself was excellent. The gyro rivaled my favorite place in Oak Lawn at 103rd and Cicero. Gyro meat was not greasy, tzatziki was flavorful and not watery, and the veggies were crisp and fresh. Pita was a little soft and not griddle and was able to hold a good amount of stuff. Fries were crispy and tasty, and were a little thicker than normal. My son enjoyed his burger which was a little larger than your standard one at similar places. The pizza puff was tasty and not too greasy as well. Overall we were glad we tried The Poor Dog and will likely come back to carry out again in the future. read more

This place have always been good, rather I grab a salad or polish it's always good. I tired their meet on a stick and quickly realize that's not for me. I like the variety and my girl swears by their patty melt. I don't have anything bad to say about them and I like that everything is cooked to order. I had forgotten all about this little gem for years.... Until today!! I was craving a gyro and remembered I tried these gyros years ago and fell in love. When I rekindled my romance with them a few minutes ago, I realized i was still in love. I usually get the gyro plate to share and it comes with enough meat for 2 gyro sandwiches, 2 warm pitas, a great amount of tzatsiki sauce, onions and tomato, and my favorite that not many places do, feta cheese and olives, all on the side so you can build your own sandwich. Ooooh, and did I mention it also comes with fries and a drink. All under $10!!! Customer service is great as well so props to the staff. They're fast, friendly, and on top of their work! Definitely recommend to any gyro lover and anyone who wants good food and good service overall. I moved and am now only about 10 minutes away. After bowling, while searching for where to eat via the internet, this place was suggested, and it we chose to go here. The location if you are not where it is, is right across the street for Marist high school in a little mall. And this place gives you a lot of food choices on their menu, from burgers, hot dogs, mexican food, to dinners which even includes a chicken tender dinner. And they also have combo specials that comes with fries and a 20 oz drink, but I do see they have pop also in cans as well. I opened for a double cheeseburger special, that is $6.99. And I even see for side orders they have chicken biggest that comes in 5 , 15, and 30 pieces. 30 pieces of chicken nuggets they charge for $8.10. Where can you get that many for that low of a price? read more

Best in town!! I love their chicken tenders and they're burgers are so good! They have the best fries I have ever had anywhere nearby. Their salads are also delicious. The workers are fast and extremely kind and the food isn't even that expensive either like nickys down the street! Thought I'd give it a try. Ordered double cheese burger and hot dog specials. Burger was over cooked and burnt, outside of bun was over toasted, fries were so-so. Hot dog was just on par with every sub-par place that claims to serve Chicago style dogs. Slim cheap dog on a over seeded bun, I guess that passes as good these days. Nothing special here, YMMV. At least it is better than La Papa's down the street on Pulaski, or that Demon Dawg place nearby. But that is not saying much. When a microwave sits prominently on the ordering counter, you are pretty much guaranteed nothing special at such an establishment. read more
