Got the two hotdog with fries and drink special for $11.50. Hotdogs (Chicago style of course) are average but for the price it hit the hunger spot. Nicky's has a few locations and it seems the more places a business has, the less quality they are. As much as it seems I'm complaining, I ate everything and am satisfied. After all a Chicago dog is always a treat. read more

I stopped in to treat myself and my daughter for Mother's Day and originally wanted to order ribs, but unfortunately they were unavailable. That wasn't an issue, so I decided on the half chicken dinner instead. However, after receiving the meal, I realized the chicken was not fully cooked. The cashier was very kind and , but when I brought the issue to the manager's attention, the only solution offered was to place the same chicken back on the grill rather than offering a replacement meal or another option. At that point, the meal was no longer appetizing to me. Unfortunately, I ended up throwing the food away and leaving. I paid for two full meals and ultimately only left with the tenders. I just wanted to share my disappointing experience, especially on Mother's Day. read more

Do yourself a favor and get their Greek chicken dinner. If you are like me and get tired of eating chicken all the time, GET THE GREEK CHICKEN DINNER HERE ANYWAY! I've had enough of the food here to say you can't go wrong with anything on their menu but that Greek chicken, simply amazing. The service is amazing also, they are extremely nice and fast. This place has the feel of the hot dog stand I went to in high school on the north side. Pleasant welcoming ambiance, like returning to a simpler time. Their prices are reasonable. read more

Horrible experience. I'm never going here again! I attempted to call in an order. I had to repeat the order and contact information FOUR times because the person answering the phone could not understand English. When I arrived, I attempted to pay with a one hundred dollar bill. I was told they do not accept "old" bills anymore. There is no signage saying this. When I told her I don't have another payment methods, she got on the phone to ask the owner and was told not to accept the money. Very frustrating! I can accept a company's policies, but I've been here lots of times (just last week) and there is no signage of this policy. This is a place I've been coming to since I was a kid and has great nostalgia, but it has changed for the worse, and I am done. Went a couple doors down to another restaurant and had no issue paying with American currency. read more

Great food! A little pricey but what isn't. Service is always fast and the people who work there are always nice. Parking is a little slim, so if you do try to get food when it's busy the parking lot is a disaster. read more

2nd time now that I have ordered the 3 hot dog and fry special to come home and find no fries!

Service is always great! They also have the best rib tips, Grecian chicken, gyros around.

I have come here for years for there greek chicken dinner, Don't know if it was a off day but I got home to see the driest reheated chicken I have ever seen! I could barely cut the skin and the seasoning was not on the chicken, It wasn't its usual pieces- just the wing and thigh. That's not half a chicken, that's a quarter. They have definetly lost my buisness, I called and asked what was with the order and the lady had a attitude and told me that's how it always is. Not true! I am on the lookout for a new place now. read more

This spot is one of the go to's if your looking for a good restaurant in Alsip, Illinois. This restaurant has good food with speedy service, and their eating area is very clean. My favorites from their menu is the Fish sandwich meal, Steak Burger meal, Gyro meal, and the Chicken on Pita sandwich. I also suggest foodies to get a side of BBQ sauce to go with your fries. I will be going back to try other items on their menu. So I recommend people to checkout this restaurant. read more

Out near Alsip and hunger pains began, not to familiar with the area (currently) found the regular fast food chains, decided on Nicky'! Place had a Chicago south side vibe! They offered the regular fast food Greek style food (will try their half chicken next time) went with my favorite Gyro's with Fries. Staff was positive & patient, even though I worked it out on Yelp, I was definitely overwhelmed with their selections (they cater too). Gyros was a good choice, meat wasn't dry and sandwich was well balanced with Tzatziki sauce, tomato's & thinly sliced onions. Looking forward to stopping by, again. Cheers & Opah! read more

This is normally a place where I can get something quick and enjoy. Not this time . I was so hurt and disappointed and the quality of food I received. Somebody made this and decided to serve it to a paying customer. I will think twice before eating here again. read more

Nicky's the Real McCoy - Boneless Rib Sandwich - Fast Food Near Me - Alsip, Illinois

I actually dined in here once before back in July but realized I never wrote a review about it. We ordered takeout for lunch yesterday from here, my partner did their 2 big baby special (hamburger with sautéed onions), and I did 2 pizza puffs with an order of fries. We also tried their baklava -- I quickly realized it was too rich for me, and I'm not a big fan of sweets that aren't cake, ice cream, candy or chocolate. The food was tasty, and I believe they gave more than one location in the Chicagoland area. I'd recommend Nicky's to anyone in the area looking for fast food. read more

Greek chicken dinner so very excellent. Roasted chicken, salad, rice, and fries. Tender and tasty chicken. Worth priced.

Ok . So This is my Second time here.. I usually give Restaurants second chances and then thats it..well, The first time I did order a Gyro... The bread was Flimsey and semi hard.. second time. Which was pretty recent..On June. 4, 2023 saturday evening I tried once more. So I get there and order from the lady at the cash register that had an Attitude already and did not smile at me.. So, that upsetted me because if you are working anf have a bad attutude then do something else for a profession. She took my order which was 2hot dogs and fry.. so i get home ready to eat it andi got barely any Fries which you will see in the photo.I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE- RUDE, NOT GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR ME. AND VERY CHEAP ON THERE FRIES! TO: THE OWNER... PLEASE TRAIN YOUR STAFF TO SMILE AND BE COURTEOUS TO CUSTOMERS??? THANK YOU. BUT I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! read more

I actually found this location by accident. On vacation with some friends to Chicago, we decided to try deep dish pizza at some restaurant. Well my GPS kept sending me in circles. And after much frustration and hunger, we decided this place looked good with the big lighted sign outside that said since 1970 or something like that. Well, that was a lucky move because we all enjoyed that moist, juicy, steaming hot chicken and left nothing but bone. Lol. I even bought Greek seasoning when I got home. We had never tried Grecian chicken before but the foil unleashed a lemony, tender creation that I can't describe. This was several years ago (maybe in 2009) but I'm still thinking about this wonderful meal and how it saved the first day of our vacation. One of my friends loves to cook and she started cooking her own version of this and we still talk about this to this very day. read more

Food is terrible I wouldn't recommend this food to my enemies. Food is over priced and not worth Pennie's

If you're into premium dog food then this is the place to be. I've eaten here a couples times and always ended up disappointed. There's not really much of a menu so you would think the selections this place has would atleast be AVERAGE quality. Nope, not a chance. I give this place 2 stars because you shouldn't expect much from a fast food joint anyways. read more

Nicky's the Real McCoy - From the parking lot. - Fast Food Near Me - Alsip, Illinois

I normally go to the other Nicky's on 58th and Kedzie, but today I was in the area. I ordered my normal Grecian chicken dinner that I've grown to love over the years. My chicken was overcooked, hardly any lemon juice. Just dry dry. My salad was equally pathetic. I ended up throwing everything away. Just please go to the one on Kedzie instead of this location! I gave two stars because the cashier was nice and my fries were okay. read more

One of my favorite places for Grecian Chicken, very flavorful and moist. Also their Gyros are very good.

Terrible customer service. Missing items in third party delivery orders. Not accommodating in fixing issues.

Purchased gyros from here. The biggest negative is their gyro sauce doesn't taste like real tzatki sauce. It tastes like it's missing ingredients. I requested an Oreo strawberry mix for my milkshake. That was really good. Overall this was was descent. read more

I use to go here ALOT back in high school/college-----but just haven't gotten around to going here as of late. Went recently and the place still looks the same. It's a typical looking fast food joint---LOTS of signage for specials and combos, some seating indoors and outdoors. When hubby and I go, we always get the grecian chicken dinner and gyros dinner---these are pretty safe. They both came with fries, greek salad, and pita for the gyros, garlic bread for the chicken. The fries weren't that exciting---the usual frozen kind-----would be nice if they could kick it up to the fresh cut fries or even yummy oven baked greek potatoes would be a welcome addition. The gyros was pretty standard to what we've had elsewhere. The grecian chicken was on the dry side but we were hungry so it was ok once you lathered it into the lemony broth. All in all service was efficient and food was ok. read more

My favorite items are the Big Baby and Grecian Chicken! Big Baby's are thin patties of meat and super delicious! Grecian Chickens have a great lemon butter sauce and loaded with seasonings. You can tell the chickens are super fresh. Fries are excellent and don't make it home! I eat them on the way. And a really delicious garlic bread comes on the side with the Grecian Chicken (plus rice and side salad). Worth it when you don't feel like cooking and need something fast. read more

So I ventured into Nicky's to grab some hot dogs. The place has been here for at least 10 years. They have another location at 57th & Kedzie. Anyway, the dogs are usually pretty cheap and the fries are good. I ordered a #10 which consists of three dogs and a large fry. The dogs were ordered "plain." I also ordered a second #10. The dogs in this order were to be "no onion." In the meantime, Jabba the Hut comes in with a bag of food that was apparently recently purchased. Jabba proceeds to the counter and complains that the order was wrong. The counter girl tries to fix the order but then tells Jabba that they need another buck and some change. (Hey, you guys screwed up the order. The changes should be comped. Nonetheless, this wasn't my business. I just wanted my hot dogs and fries.) I did take notice of the fact that the counter girl removed a bag of fries from Jabba's order and placed them back on the "food waiting to be served" counter. That's right! She took food that left the store, was likely fondled by Jabba, and brought back with the intention of giving it to another customer. Great. Real classy. Methinks that good health practices require that any food that is brought back be deposited into the garbage. I digress. Eventually, Jabba got his correct order and left. In the meantime, I kept watch on the returned fries knowing that there would be hell to pay if she tried to pawn them off on me. As it turned out, she placed the "dirty/used/returned" fries into another customer's bag who seemingly did not mind and left the store. Some ten minutes later, my order was bagged and I left. So what did I find upon my arrival home? Three hot dogs with pickles only and three hot dogs with onions only. Really? You screwed up an order so simple? It's not the guys in back making the dogs that messed up. It's the useless counter girl's fault who punched in "pickle" rather than "plain" and "onion" rather than "no onion." Needless to say, I was not impressed. So I leave it to fellow Yelpers: If you want screwed up orders and risk the potential of eating returned food...enjoy. read more

This Nicky's used to be @ 5something? & Pulaski. And for the people here, that's actually important. In the country's most segregated city, exactly where something used to be located is REALLY important. Almost more important than the food. Really??! Because without the white flight nostalgia, it's just a pizza puff / gyros/ grease spoon spot with decent prices & a great refill policy for delicious fountain drinks. I liked the fried mushrooms. They were good. Cops eat here. They are usually a good food barometer. I'd only come back here if other joints were closed. read more

I went today and because I have dietary restrictions wanted to order some Gyros meat only. I was going to order the dinner with no pita or tomatoes, etc. since she said that they don't have cucumbers. I didn't care if it only came out to a small amount of meat. The girl at the counter said she couldn't do that. I said even if I paid $20 for some meat? I wasn't worried about price just wanted to not have bread or tomatoes on the plate. She said no. She reluctantly offered to ask management but I told her to forget it. You should focus more on your staff before you advertise to new customers. read more

Nicky's has always been a staple in my life, growing up on the south side; I have fond memories of visiting the location on Kedzie. With the being sad, I'm glad now that I'm a suburbanite ‍ I can still enjoy Nicky's. Only complaint is they don't include sport peppers w their hotdogs, not sure if this needs to be requested. I'll definitely ask next time I'm there read more

This place has taken a huge turn for the worse. Nicky's used to be really good, but sadly has fallen downhill. This location is much different than their Kedzie location. This location is dirty, screws up my order almost always, and food is either always undercooked or overcooked. The people working there aren't very nice. We called in ahead to pick up, which was pointless, because there is one cashier, so you have to wait in a line of people, who aren't sure what they are ordering, to tell them your picking up an order that has been sitting as long or longer than you were in line. We have learned our lesson and will not be going back again. read more

I'm going to tell you a story about the greek chicken dinner they serve here for $9.79 first let me tell you I'm not affiliated with the restaurant I am making this review on my own So my name is Mike and I work for a fire equipment company that works in the kitchens of many different restaurants so I eat a lot of food from a lot of different places. If you do one thing when you come here try their Greek chicken dinner from the salad to the garlic bread from the rice to the chicken All I can say is this dish kicks ass. The sauce The chicken is marinated with is unbelievably tasty. Try it if you don't absolutely love it let me know and tell me off by email or comments but I have a feeling that you're going to thank me and thumbs up because this is some of the best chicken I've ever put in my mouth. read more
