He says the flavor was good and the portion size was definitely worth it. I ordered the Al Pastor burrito bowl. I definitely don't think their meat was very good at all. It just didn't taste like the Al Pastor I've gotten from actual Mexican grocery stores. Also my bowl barely had rice at all. There was probably more guacamole and sour cream than anything. Well I decided to give the new location a shot. Can't believe I am saying this but I think It actually got worse. Order a buritto. It was a good size but it completely fell apart. There was also a big hole in the tortilla. The worst part is that after I tried a few bits I actually vomited into a garbage can. This has never happened before. Excellent quality food. I wasn't sure whether they would bring it to my table or if I had to stand near the counter and wait for my number to be called. The sound level was quite high which made it difficult to hear when placing my order. I was able to find a more quiet place to enjoy my meal. read more

I finally got around to trying this local chain. I've driven past several of their locations throughout IL and have said one of these days I'll go, well today is the day. I placed a pickup order on Toast, and by the time I arrived, there was a short wait for my food. They were starting to get busy around 11:30am as lunch is starting, and I love that this location also has a drive through option, dining in and carrying out. Knowing now, I wish I ordered more tilapia tacos because they're so delicious, it's grilled to perfection, and one of the fish tacos I had had a small bone in it -- that's how you know it's real fish but also be careful. The steak wasn't what I expected -- not sure if it even is, since I saw a bit of chorizo juice / sauce in it. The chips were crispy, but can be a bit more chips to sauce ratio. I ended up with way more sauce than I needed. Other than that, it was a great experience and I can see myself coming back. There's limited free parking on premise as they do share a lot with other businesses in the strip mall. I didn't have any issues today. I'd recommend this location to anyone in the area looking for Mexican cuisine. They have something for everyone. read more

Well yesterday was National Guacamole Day, so I took a chance and ordered some Nachos from the Taco Burrito King. That was a big mistake! The entire container consisted of Beef, toppings, and a few chip crumbs. I didn't get enough chips to even enjoy the toppings! How can I dip into the guacamole with no chips? Celebration was ruined to say the least! In addition, 2 customers in the establishment were not wearing masks. The cashier ignored the risky behavior! I just had the worst experience at this place, and I've been a loyal customer for over 10 years. I live down the street and even went to high school with one of the Ortega family members, who own the restaurant. That connection is why I've always supported them. Today, I went in at 4 PM, and initially, they mistakenly packaged my food to go instead of for dine-in, which I understood as an honest mistake. However, when they replated my food, it was clear that something was off. The meat was visibly old, the portions were small, and there was no heat coming from the food--it was lukewarm at best. When I tried a piece of steak, it wasn't even warm, which is unacceptable for a dine-in meal. I approached the front desk to ask for a refund, but instead of receiving an apology, I was met with hostility and an argument. When I asked when the meat had been prepared, they admitted it was made in the morning. It's 4 PM. In this economy, where the cost of food is higher than ever, no customer should have to pay for food that was made hours earlier and served cold. I'm incredibly disappointed by the lack of quality and the poor customer service I experienced today. read more

I was here at 12:55pm I get my food get home to open it and its wrong. I call back in to ask about coming back up there because my order is wrong and then I'm out on hold for 20 minutes after confirming the order may have been wrong. It's always a pleasure to come back to this place again because of their tacos. That's the main reason why I come back here over and over again. Last time I visited I ordered 2 tacos for myself and was totally satisfied with that.They were really delicious. I would even say finger-licking. They were thoroughly cooked and served so its flavor was excellent. Customer service was great let alone their food. I was greeted and treated well and they didn't make me waiting too long since it's very important for me as I am kind of busy guy. Hopefully COVID-2019 will be defeated soon and we will be able to catch up more often with our close friends in our favorite spots like it was a not while ago. I've never had an issue placing or picking up an order. I love that they have a drive thru window and they stay open pretty late. Food review: this isn't the full on authentic Mexican food experience that I personally like. I would consider the food to be what you'd eat if you're on a budget and want something a step up from Americanized Mexican food (like Taco Bell) but not exactly full on authentic Mexican. Example: I ordered chicken nachos expecting to have chips, beans, meat, shredded cheese, lettuce, guacamole, tomato, sour cream. I received chips topped with shredded chicken, guacamole, nacho cheese sauce, jalapeños and sour cream. It made my stomach hurt so bad but I also didn't ask what the nachos were topped with so that's on me not them. Again, nothing wrong and this isn't a bad review. We pulled up at 4:28 am. There was a group of 6 Caucasian customers leaving the establishment as I pulled up they were walking out. I get out the car to walk in and the waiter comes and locks the door as he sees me walking to the door. It is 4:30 am and it is posted online that your restaurant doesn't close until 5:00. I took one bite of it and bit into something hard and I looked and it was a chicken bone in my steak burrito bowl.
