My best friend introduced me to this spot and I immediately fell in love when I seen the menu, but tasting the food solidified my feelings! The service was nice, we sat at the bar -- it was packed out through the entire place but the bar had seating so we took that, to also guarantee swift service . I enjoyed everything about the place, the food, the service, the music, and even the atmosphere was cool. I tried their birriria* tacos and loveddddd them because the broth was flavorful just like the meat! The margaritas were also really good, and so big we had to take them to go (which they allow!). My brother had been bugging me to go to Burrito Jalisco with him for months. Finally I decided to join him, and I'm glad I did. It turns out I've driven past the Tinley Park and Orland Park locations for years without ever bothering to stop in. I'll have to change that sometime soon! We met at Burrito Jalisco on a warm, sunny afternoon. We opted to sit outside since the weather was beautiful. I can't recall our waiter's name, but he was friendly and attentive. He told us we'd have to put a credit card on file since we were dining outside. That was a first for us, but we didn't argue. I get it... there are bad people everywhere, and shyt happens. Anyway, I had the carne asada tacos with rice and beans. My brother had the quesabirrias combo. We both had margaritas as well. I had strawberry, and he had the jalapeño. My brother said the margaritas were really good, but mine was just okay. There wasn't anything spectacular about it. The rice and beans were tasty, but I didn't care for the steak tacos. They were just okay. My bro loved the quesabirrias. He had the goat, which was moist and flavorful. I had some of it as well and agree that it was delicious. I'll probably order it whenever I return to Burrito Jalisco. The bill was $80, including the tip! For two entrees and two alcoholic beverages. I couldn't believe it!! This was actually very very good. It was super busy I had to park across the street because the lot was packed. Large beautiful place. I wanted to get seated right away so I sat at the bar. I always ride past this restaurant and finally decided to stop and try it. I first sat on the balcony, but it was way too cold and windy for an August day. I asked if the latern could be lit, but management denied my request. Besides that the service was great. However, going that extra mile would've gotten them a 5 star rating. I ended up moving in doors because of the chill. The food was also great. I ordered a chicken combination plate that came with some kind of dipping sauce. In my opinion, the food actually tastes better than the infamous "Pepes." The vibe is much like what I imagine a neighborhood restaurant in Sinaloa, Mexico to be like. Or at least the ones I've seen on TV anyway ("Queen of The South" ). Lol. It's decorated with hanging art and hispanic music playing on the overhead. I would certainly eat here again. Man what happened?? Super slow service, wasn't even busy. Burrito was SMALL. Both ends a good inch empty. Was eating plain tortilla. I usually eat half and am stuffed. I ate the whole thing and wasn't hungry but wasn't stuffed! I also added guac and sour cream and it was still tiny! It's usually big. My daughter and I visited this evening unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. We ordered a variety of items, and almost everything missed the mark. My daughter got the three-taco special (steak, American style) and the Diamond Margarita (strawberry). The margarita had some flavor, but it was overwhelmed by way too much syrup. When she brought it to the staff's attention, they took it back and added more Sprite or 7-Up instead of addressing the issue properly or balancing the drink. For $20, it was extremely disappointing. Her tacos were mediocre at best--nothing special. I ordered the steak torta, which they brought out lukewarm and a Shirley Temple (non-alcoholic). The drink had way too much syrup in it. Even the complimentary chips and salsa were disappointing--the chips were oddly sweet, and the salsa tasted more like a tomato sauce. One was overly sweet, and the other was just too hot. I had heard good things about this restaurant, so I gave it a try, but I won't be going back. The food quality, drinks, and overall experience were subpar. For the price, I expected much better. I have had Burrito Jalisco on my list of restaurants to try for some time now. I finally made my way there. It's super cute in the inside if you choose the Alsip location. This is honestly why I chose this location over the Tinley Park location. We were seated and our waitress came right on over. We were given chips and salsa upon sitting. That was great because we were starving. I didn't care for the salsa but it was no biggie. One was sweet and one was hot. My waitress gave me recommendations that were really helpful. Because of her recommendations I was able to try new things I haven't tried. We received our food and boy oh boy was it good!! So tasty and seasoned. Just as I expected. And it's great portions that they give you. We could not stop talking about how good the food was and how it hit the spot. Went here for a company lunch , ( July 2024)our group was about 14 people. The restaurant had two very cool dining areas . This is fine Mexican cuisine and it's priced accordingly. Everyone seemed to enjoy their dish . I was happy with my selection. The server took the orders , clockwise, using a tablet which seemed Modern and efficient- However when the staff Brought the dishes to the table , the servers had no idea who order which dish and they kept calling each dish out loud . Some people had ordered similar dishes so now it was up to us to figure out who order which specifics. It was a distraction that took out attention away from the event . I will acknowledge that the service was courteous and prompt on everything else , but the chaotic food delivery is what is sticking with me. Service was a bit slow due to a large birthday party. I had the burrito bowl, which was a generous size and tasty. I recommend asking for the guac and cream on the side. I ate the guac with chips and had enough for my bowl. My friend had the prawns - delicious! One of mine was a little over cooked and rubbery, but we still enjoyed them. Everyone is friendly and pleasant but wait times between refills and receiving the bill were a bit long. Everyone seemed busy though so it may be due to short staff and I'm not impressed with their regular salsa. It just lacks flavor. This is a place I visit often for consume tacos. Very fast service. This location is the best over Tinley Park & Orland Park. It's a little sad that the food is either a hit or miss. Last time we were here in person it was great, little pricey but good food and fantastic service but stopped by for a takeout burrito last week and...just have to say this burrito was so not worth $12 I won't be doing take out again. They charged me $1.5 for "extra" to substitute rice for beans. That's a pet peeve of mine cuz rice and beans are equivalent, I just hate refried beans. Also I wash for carne asada for the meat, expecting the deliciousness of my in-person carne asada dinner, but the meat seemed to just be regular fried steak, not flame-broiled like they do so well.
