We ended up at Lucky Burrito/Cantina because my brother wanted to check it out. He'd driven past it a few times and thought it might be good since the parking lot is always full. We stopped in on a random Thursday night to find the bar area empty. That didn't deter us, so we took a seat. The bar area is spacious and comfortable. There's a nice sized-bar in the back and video game terminals (slot machines) up front. Our server, Eddie, was really nice. He was friendly and attentive. He offered suggestions on the food, and the bartender, Josh, didn't skimp on the alcohol while making our cocktails. I had the taco platter, which comes with rice and beans. The rice was a little dry but not too bad. I liked the refried beans. I had the carne asada, pastor, and barbacoa tacos. I liked the barbacoa best. The pastor and carne asada were okay. My friend had the burrito. He said it was really good and very filling. My brother had the birria (beef), which he loved. He also had horchata, which he also enjoyed. The chips were warm and fresh, but the salsa was just okay. It was a little spicy for a few people at the table. I had a strawberry margarita, which was fantastic. I also had a Mexican Coke. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their (alcoholic) beverages as well. The bill ended up being around $130 for the four of us. The service was top-notch. Both Eddie and Josh were awesome! My brother and I actually went back for lunch a few days later. It was only $30 for the two of us. Overall, the experiences were enjoyable. I'll definitely be a repeat customer. read more

I went here 11/6/23 and had a great time! The music ambiance is nice! I love how you can see the food being cooked as you walk into the door! The food had great taste! In the picture "chips and salsa" I'm not sure if its really salsa, it reminded me of pico de gallo and I added red salsa to the mix to make it a salsa lol! The margarita was pretty tasty as well! The service is quick and very great! We went when there was only one young lady serving at the time and all though it wasn't that many people in at the time she still made sure that people got their food in a timely manner! The steak taco dinner was poor. The steak had a lot of grizzle. The rice and beans were subpar in flavor. Dinner is Very pricey at over 15.00. The corn tortillas were good, however, this alone is not enough to rise above a 1 star rating. I won't return. read more

I went here Thursday afternoon and the girl who attended was a bit confused that I wanted to place an order to go. I've came here a couple times and it's always good but this time it was not so good. I ordered a torta de asada and asked for no beans and got beans. It ruined my lunch. I also got a churro to try because I saw they had some. The churro has too much cinnamon seasoning and the strawberry sauce is too cold for the churro. Overall sad experience for me. Probably won't come again. read more

Carne Asada Burrito wasn't good . This is supposedly a burrito place specializing in burritos. Meat seem to be on the ends and lightly in the middle. The meat was a little bit chewy. The food was excellent and on point. The appetizers were tasty and delicious. The ceviche appetizer was well worth it!! I ordered an Horchata and it was wonderful! I ordered the tacos a la carte. My favorite is the barbacoa followed by the pastor. Steak and chicken are just "ok." The tortillas are typically oiled up nicely to compliment the meat flavor, although I've had them soggy with oil on occasion. The 2 salsa choices are meh. They come in sealed packets. Not a fan. If I have a burrito, I like to add as I go along. You have to lean the packets upright as opposed to having a flat bottom cup. read more

My first time coming here I was very impressed with the quality of the meat used in the chicken taco. The tacos were flavorful; the onion and cilantro combined with the well-seasoned chicken to form a lovely, authentic tasting palette. Salsa was served to me in packets--would've preferred cups but the tacos were so good I barely needed any salsa. The horchata I ordered was delicious as well. Usually horchatas are prepared too thick or too watered down. Mine was sweet, smooth and actually helped me wash down the tacos. The service was exceptional, possibly due to the fact that it wasn't busy when I went around 1pm. Nonetheless, I was greeted with smiles and warm energy from the employees. I gave this restaurant four stars only because I'm not too fond of the way they prepared my nachos. The beans were in paste form (personal preference is solid beans) and mozzarella cheese is used instead of normal nacho cheese. The cashier gave me a heads-up about the cheese--much to my appreciation--taking the risk was my own choice. The tortilla chips were tasty though. All in all, this restaurant is going to become my go-to for tacos in the Alsip/Crestwood area. I am interested in trying more things on the menu next time! read more
