The original Mickey's was sold in February 2023. I went to the new "Mickey's" in sincere hope the new owners were trained by the previous owners - they were not! Our Italian beefs were, well, not the true Italian beefs and put into styrofoam boxes - not juicy! French fries weren't the good ole fashioned type but some flavored fries that my kids didn't even want to eat. Restaurants aren't often given two tries after a distasteful meal but I'm working my way to see if possibly they learned from their first bad start and renewed old tried and successful ways to make fast food or lost is next of only one place left to have real American food without the improvements no one asked for or wanted. read more

Cute little place. Very clean. Descent friendly service. We had a Philly cheesesteak and chicken Philly cheesesteak. Both very good. But the fries!! Not even kidding when I say best I have ever had. We wanted to like this place but it was just so bad. Hotdogs were literally the cheapest hotdogs in store bought buns. Fries were burnt and tasteless. Milkshakes were a joke. I guess the only way that I'm going to eat good food is by staying home and making it myself. Last night I go to Mickeys ordered a chicken dinner and Italian sausage. Nothing worse then paying for food driving home sitting down and opening the sandwich to find it completely CHARRED BLACK. I never had a Italian Sausage where it actually crunched as I at it. I called Mickeys and he said it's pork and it need to be cooked fully. REALLY ??? I BBQ Italian and Polish sausage all the time and it's NEVER burned to a crisp. I could come back in but who wants to do that on a rainy night and have the other person eat alone. I think it was close to closing time and instead of making something new let's get rid of the old. Great portions and awesome costumer service, especially the man up front working behind the steam table. He always greets everyone and gets conversations going whilst making the food. Fabulous reasonably priced food, definitely on the cheaper side! Rib tip dinner is a must have. Good amount of fries, coleslaw and the outstanding piece of garlic bread. When driving down Roberts Road with a friend of mine we spotted a place called Mickey's Gyros and decided to stop in to give it a try. Around the South Side and South suburbs there are a lot of places called Nicky's and Mickey's with very similar food offerings and menus.This place has one very long counter to order at and behind there is where your food is prepared. After looking over the menu I decided to try a hot dog and a "Big Mickey" which from the description I determined is just a re-named "Big Baby" burger". Waited a few minutes and my food was ready for me to dig in to. We'll start with the Big Mickey burger. The big mickey was a double cheeseburger with grilled onions on top, cheese, mustard and ketchup on a sesame seed bun. The way the onions were grilled was decent, but quite a step back from other places I've had serving similar burgers. Overall for the price I'd say it was worth it, but other options exist. The burger was greasy, the condiments were well applied. But the burger and onions were grilled a little less than ideally. Then we have the hot dog. This hot dog came on a regular non-poppy seed bun. The bun was soft and didn't have any signs of dryness. The sausage used was skinless and from the taste was immediately recognized by me as being Red Hot Chicago brand. There was a gigantic pickle every bit as thick as the hot dog itself on top, light mustard, onions and relish. There were no sport peppers, tomato and no celery salt on this hot dog. The dominant flavor with this dog was the pickle which completely overpowered everything else. I'd say the hot dog was quite a bit worse than the burger. Overall service here was friendly, I had a four star quality burger, and a two star hot dog. Based on this, I'll go right up the middle and award them three stars and recommend the Big Mickey as a good but not great inexpensive burger. We'll close with this simple song. I get the chicken pita which has some Greek seasoning on it annnnd the best thing is that they use real chicken (most fast food places do not, yuk!) I have been eating here for years and have not been disappointed. Since I have the bad habit of getting the same thing at certain restaurants, I do not try other things on the menu. But I have eaten several different things on the menu, and the best thing here is the gyros. The pita and meat are very tender and tasty. The portion sizes are decent, but some of the items can be a little on the bland side. One game you can have here is to get the female cashier to crack a smile. read more

Everything is solid here. There are times when a meal can be sloppily made at other restaurants, but everything is consistent here, never had a bad meal. The grilled chicken they use on their pita/French bread has a nice seasoning n isn't bland. BBQ Chicken has a distinct broiled taste, but isn't dry, really good. I LOVE Mickey's I have been coming to this place for years and it is amazing. The people who work and own it are extremely friendly...(I've taken a shot of Tequila with one of the guys before) and the food is awesome. They have the best barbecue chicken on pita I have ever had in my life. I have gone to hundreds of similar fast food places and ordered the same sandwich and this is by far the best one I have ever had. The sauce is great and they give you plenty of meat too. This goes for everyhting on the menu as well, they don't get cheap on the portion they give you, and that goes with the fries as well. My favorite part of the place is the prices. They are well below what I am used to paying for similar food at similar places, and there prices have hardly gone up over the years I have been going. I get my barbecue chicken pita, with fries and a medium soda for $4.80. Most places I got to that meal is anywhere from $6-8. My friends and I go there all the time, and trust me if you are in Palos Hills and looking for a great tasting reasonably priced meal, you should definitely go here. read more

Kinda like a dead possum that had been under the porch for a few days in the summer. But guess what. I liked it. It tasted good to my mouth. Also liked the toasted pita. Fries were crispy and good. Only reason they lost a star is because they didn't seem to have a public bathroom and the table was kinda dirty. Not filthy. But if it was a toilet I would build a nest before I sat on it.
