I recently visited Highlander's Grill and had an amazing experience! The restaurant offers a unique combination of American burgers and Polish cuisine, which I found very exciting. The burgers were juicy and packed with flavor, easily some of the best I've ever had. The dishes were classic and comforting. I tried the Highlander Burger and the Zapiekanka, and they were delicious. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. I walked in this place in got all types of rude looks and attitude as if they didn't want my business so I walked right back out. Black people please don't support businesses like this "They Don't Like Us". When I used my debit card, the employee, Judith Gonzalez, told me the 4% fee still applied. I explained that debit-card surcharges are not permitted under card-network rules. Her response? "I just work here, dude. So you're going to need to call the owner, my boss, dude." I asked, "What did you just call me?" and she replied, "Dude." I told her that was incredibly rude and disrespectful. She said she wasn't trying to be disrespectful, but that's certainly how it came across. I understand she didn't create the policy, but there was absolutely no reason to speak to a customer that way. AJ's needs to review its 4% fee on debit-card transactions. I'll also be reporting the surcharge through the appropriate channels. Really poor customer service and a completely unnecessary interaction.
