Three very distinct experiences with The Patio lead me to conclude that it is a true hidden gem in the Southlands. First I catered a large event at work in the Southlands Suburbs and the food was on time, at temperature and delicious! I was so pleased that I made the drive to have dinner with a group of friends--location was my suggestion--and the restaurant was warm and inviting with tremendously friendly staff. The lamb chops and chicken kabobs were delicious. Tonight I ordered via DoorDash for delivery and was similarly impressed. I enjoyed myself here. It was an evening after work and I needed something good to eat. I chose the burger with bacon and bbq sauce. It looked small but it was satisfying and fresh/hot. I ordered an iced tea but the iced tea kinda turned me off how it was sitting uncovered. I decided on a lemonade. After ordering my food I was given a number. I have been eating here since 2022. The food was great back then compared to what it is now. The service used to be faster than what it is now. The prices also increased. The ice cream machine is always "McBroken" (McDonalds Joke!) for some reason. When I ordered ribs they were STONE COLD and COMPLETELY RAW and the floors are SO STICKY! Was there a 5:17 p.m. on May 1st spent over $65 I ordered over with 127 ticket number 10098 register one mango salmon dinner just comes with a baked potato which was undercooked it was so hard I couldn't eat it. It also comes with a medley of vegetables which the chefs I should say Cooks in the back do not know how to slice vegetables the zucchini wasn't even a quarter inch thick and the red peppers or 4 inches wide does that make sense no. Also ordered pork sandwich and a brisket sandwich and they forgot to put the pickles in with the sandwiches and since this was a takeout order I didn't notice this until I got home of course since I'm sick I'm not going back for pickles. Don't ever order the breaded zucchini is all you will get is just spreading I took the breading off of one and you couldn't even see any zucchini inside for $8.99 you get all breading. That patio has changed so much since the 90s and when John the owner was there every day managing the business. Sorry John for the money I spent I was very disappointed in the food I got today. I was a confirmed Patio Restaurant believer Bridgeview or 159 St location. It became difficult for me to see the Patio Restaurant and not stop. I also celebrated many family Birthdays and Holiday family get togethers there . I enjoyed the great food and cleanliness for at least 25 years . During the latter part of 2024 I noticed that the quality of the food had rapidly declined and the prices had increased. After paying closer attention I noticed that there had been a personell change at the restaurant . I later learned there was new ownership at the restaurant. I have not returned. read more

I have been coming to patio since the little restaurant across the street, that being said I've never had a problem here until yesterday. It was a special family gathering exchange gifts after Christmas and have a great meal. Well my son loved his chicken sandwich and soup wife only got a big soup and I got pulled pork plate. Here's the problem this pork was made clearly much earlier and was so dry my plastic knife wouldn't cut it. The color was a tell tale sign on the bigger pieces also. This used to be a pretty good place for ribs. Unfortunately it has gone downhill over the years. The price continues to go up while the quality goes down. The ribs were a bit on the tough side. The taste was below average. This is about the 3rd time I have been disappointed. So I will skip this place for ribs. I will say we get the cream of chicken soup and that is pretty good. A little pricey for the small bowl but decent. Also noticed the mac n cheese which also used to be good was horrible the last time. It tasted like one of those boxed powdered mac n cheese. It was missing items and the manager was rude and was not polite with regarding the issue for 20 years, I have Begun going to that place for. 4 over 20 I am writing to express my profound disappointment and frustration following a recent experience at your establishment -- a place I have frequented for over two decades. What once stood as a symbol of consistent quality and respectful service has unfortunately devolved into something I can no longer support or recommend. During my last visit, not only was my order refused without reasonable explanation, but I was told -- quite dismissively -- that the service I requested was no longer offered and that my previous (incomplete) order had already been delivered. When I attempted to address the issue, the manager responded with rudeness and a complete lack of professionalism or empathy. There was no effort made to listen, resolve the problem, or even acknowledge the long history I've had with your business. In over 20 years of patronage, I have never been treated with such indifference and disrespect. What made this especially shocking was the sharp contrast to the service I once knew -- attentive, courteous, and reliable. Sadly, this recent experience felt like an unfortunate reflection of a deeper decline in both the management and the overall standards of the restaurant. The Patio ribs holds a special place in my heart. My family has been getting their ribs to-go since I was a little kid and I still love them to this day. It's still served in the same type of styrofoam container that I remember from my childhood.
