I hear Nicky's is a staple of the Beverly neighborhood and was excited to try it for myself. My family and I grabbed lunch on Tuesday afternoon. The. parking lot was mostly full, but it was not packed inside. A lot of people were getting orders to go and there was plenty of open seating. Having been my first time, I thought the placement of the menu could have been better since its written on the wall opposite of the registers. It's hard not being in the way of those trying to order. The menu overall gave a variety of options from burgers, sandwiches, salads, wings, and plenty more. I opted for the catfish entree which came with a side salad, garlic bread, and fries. My son ordered the asian chicken salad. After I ordered the food, I also noticed the gelato and shakes menu which features several boozy shake options. I ended up going back and ordering a italian ice boozy shake. The flavor that day was pineapple and the cashier also asked about additional add ins like strawberries which was appreciated since it was not mentioned on the menu. As a girl who loves anything Strawberry, I couldn't say no. The shake was so good even on a cold Chicago day. The wait for the food didn't take long. We only had a 10 minute ride to get home so the food was still hot by the time we got home. The portions of both meals were large enough for 2 meals. My son loved his salad especially the dressing, but felt like there was too many wonton crisps for his liking. I thought my catfish was tasty though had I known the catfish would be packaged on top of the fries, I would have asked for them to be packed separately since they got soggy and I wasn't able to enjoy most of them. There are plenty of other things on the menu I definitely want to go back to try, so I'll be back next time I'm in town.

Cheese Burger and cheese fries

We stopped in for lunch and beat the rush. We quickly ordered cheese burgers and cheese fries and got our number to find a seat and wait for the food to come out. We thought the mustard sauce had a funky smell but we thought nothing of it and ate. About an hour after we ate we both did not feel well and became sick. Bummed I have to post this but this was our experience. Not sure if we will try again.

Philly cheesesteak and fries

I was visiting Chicago and a friend took me to this place. Definitely a must try in Chicago. The menu is so massive, it was hard to decide what to get but I ended up going with a Philly cheesesteak with jalapeños which did not disappoint. Not only was it HUGE, it was by far the best I've had yet. The ambiance was nice and laid back. The service was awesome as well. Just go!

Hamburger - A burger with a shiny, toasted bun, lettuce, and other fillings is placed on a paper-lined metal tray. Accompanying the burger is a generous portion of French fries, arranged on the same tray. The tray is set on a marble table, with some utensils and napkins visible nearby.

I've gone here and eaten plenty of things I mostly enjoyed. This visit, was just not as great. I enjoy that their food comes out hot! I enjoy that the staff is always friendly. I don't always enjoy the food, or the drinks! The drinks are notably always not great. But the food is sometimes just meat and bread and lacks pizazz. This particular night there was a dj doing a raffle which was cool.

Beef Sandwich (wet) with hot peppers combo - A person wearing a red jacket is serving a beef sandwich topped with chopped vegetables on a tray lined with aluminum foil and paper. French fries are also on the tray. The setting appears to be a casual dining environment, possibly outdoors or at a food event.

We were touring the Beverly and Morgan Park neighborhoods as part of the Open House Chicago weekend (it was October 18 and 19th), and this was one of the locations on the tour. We were hungry, so we stopped here for lunch. The location has been here for a while. It is an interesting mix in terms of architecture. When you order food, note the menu is on the wall as well as in paper. You can upgrade your soft drink to a beer for an additional $5, and they offer a "Combo" which includes a Large order of fries and a soft drink with their sandwiches. I ordered their Gyro Combo, and my wife had the Roast Beef Combo. The gyros tasted good, the tzatziki sauce was spicy, and it was all good. The roast beef was ordered wet instead of dry, with hot giardiniera. The sandwich was LARGE and filling. The hot giardiniera was delightfully spicy overall. The large fries were, well, fresh and LARGE. We couldn't finish the fries. The soft drink machine worked fine. You can find salt, pepper and other condiments and cups to the right of where you order. Seating is limited.

Vegan Gyro And The Vegan Ice Cream - A vegan gyro with a crumbly topping is placed on a metal tray lined with white paper, positioned on a dark wooden table. Next to it, there is a small cup of ice cream with a pink spoon inserted. The background features a wall with blue and teal abstract artwork and an electrical outlet.

Found out about this pretty hip restaurant in Beverly. It certainly has a lot more things we can eat than it seemed at first. Nicky's specializes in gyros and things like Italian beef sandwiches. Because of all this it was assumed there wouldn't be much on the meaty that wasn't meaty. They surprisingly have lots of great options thankfully. Cramped place is the only complaint about it. It's got some indoor seating but not a lot. There's a counter to sit at if there aren't any tables. Menu has a lot of options. Place orders at the front and they'll call it out to you. It's about $11 for an entree. Then you have to pay for sides. I got the Vegan Gyro. This comes with a vegan tzatziki along with onions and tomatoes. She had the Veggie Big Baby. This is a couple Beyond Burger patties topped with choice of cheese and the usual toppings like onions and tomatoes. Also there's vegan ice cream. It's $3 for a cup. The last time they had a butter pecan flavor that you couldn't tell it was only pretend. Great place to get gyros. It's pretty crowded usually and there's some long ass lines. There's plenty to get for vegans and vegetarians.

Lobster Roll is served Hot with Butter and chips plus a pickle spear.

Update to my prior praise: it depends on who's ringing you up BECAUSE they don't sub fries for chips on the lobster roll as I've come to enjoy. Young lady was nice enough to ask Carlos after letting me know they probably charged me for the side (y'all I would notice a $4 upcharge for frozen fries not fresh cut) Either way, Carlos said with an empathetic NO that they don't sub. With that, I'm good. Everything is a la carte but those chips are not always fresh neither tasty alas maybe another visit another trip. Not today.

Thai Chili Brussel Sprouts - The image shows a close-up view of small, round meatballs coated in a glossy, caramel-colored glaze. The meatballs are topped with white and black sesame seeds and are contained within a brown paper takeout box. The presentation suggests they are a dish meant for casual dining or takeout, with a focus on their shiny glaze and sesame seed garnish.

For the environment, this is the perfect place to have a bite to eat on a nice summer evening. The seating area - both inside and outside - are great options. A random game of bingo was happening while I was there adding to the restaurant's already fun atmosphere. I loved my Buffalo Chicken Empanadas. With the sauce to dip it in, it was a 10/10 dish. My guest loved the Fried Haddock Fish. My least favorite dish was the Thai Chili Brussel Sprouts. I didn't care for the texture and it was fried. I wouldn't order that again. Overall, I enjoyed my visit here. I definitely recommend stopping by.

This place is so cute and the food is good. I found the lady at the counter to be helpful and polite. I ordered the gyro and fries and it was hot, fresh, and very good. They have an expansive menu. A plus is that their fountain machine has ginger ale!

Cute high end burger joint. Stumbled across this place after shopping. It was so cute and creative inside. It's basically a fast food restaurant with high end burgers and beers. I ordered the turkey burger meal and a double cheese burger for my mate. The turkey burger was so unique and had blue cheese and jalapenos in it. I felt like being risky, which is why I did not finish it all lol. But the burger was made well, nonetheless. I enjoyed a white SanGria while I waited and enjoyed the art throughout the space. Will visit again.

Vegan Shrimp Po Boy - The image shows a vegan shrimp po' boy sandwich with shredded lettuce, sliced pickles, and tomato slices on a piece of bread. The sandwich is placed on white parchment paper inside a metal tray. The bread appears toasted, and the ingredients are arranged on top of the bread, with some sauce visible on the side.

This place has a cool vibe and a fun aesthetic, but the layout isn't really doing it any favors. It almost seems spacious with the stacked shipping containers, but it somehow isn't. They have an extensive plant-based menu, which is awesome to see. I ordered the Vegan Gyro, which was really tasty (although a bit greasy) ($11). My husband had the Vegan Shrimp Po Boy ($11), which he enjoyed (although we both liked my entrée better.) I would definitely return - and really want to try some of their gelato next time - I'm hoping the warmer weather expands their dine-in options.

Turkey Burger - A burger featuring a grilled patty topped with char marks, lettuce, tomato slices, and onions, served on a bun. The burger is placed on crumpled foil paper, with the top half of the bun positioned next to it, revealing a toasted surface with some dark spots.

I waited for my food for 49 mins after ordering. It was crowded so I didn't mind, just to make it home and have a slider sized burger on a full sized bun. Never again!!!!

Filet Sliders
Onie R.

I live in the area so I tend to go to Nicky's a few times a month. The Filet Sliders ($17) are one of my favorite items. One of the higher priced items. The last few times I was disappointed with the presentation and this last time I got them to eat in the restaurant instead of to go and they still weren't even warm and looked thrown together. They looked like chicken nuggets thrown on the bun, meat not covering the bun, the cheese not covering some of the filets and all were over cooked. So frustrating. This time I took it to the manager he looked at it and literally keep it moving. The cheese had slid off the filet, I thought they hadn't even put any on it lol. This was around 5pm. Maybe I need to pick a later or better time to go because it seemed rushed and thrown together. Idk what is going on.

Turkey burger and sweet potato fries - A meal consisting of a burger with lettuce, sliced onions, and a soft bun, placed on a piece of paper on a kitchen countertop. Next to it is a paper-wrapped serving of fried fish with a container of tartar sauce. A glass of sparkling water is also visible in the background.
