The service was ok.. order not accurate, but the sandwich maker and cashier were pleasant. Regarding the food, it was ok. Pricey and kind of lacked flavor and very fatty. Not mad that I tried it, but it's unlikely I would return.

I was making a quick stop in the drive thru this morning before work. I have heard a lot of good things about D As and always wanted to try. The cashier was nice and my order for a half pound corned beef was up pretty quick. The sandwich was very tasty. The half pound was just right. I couldn't imagine a whole pound sandwich!!! I would recommend them if you're in the mood for corned beef. Yes, I'll be returning as well.

What up Yelper. Today I see I have to add a business. We'll let me put you up on game. After seeing reel after reel & review after review. I just had to give this place a visit. So me and the wifey drove out to Alsip. And it was worth the drive. D.A.'s Deli are the home of the 1lb Cornbeef sandwich! And let me tell you they are fire! We pulled up to the place small clean establishment. They have some seating inside if you want to sit and smash! We ordered the 1lb cornbeef, 1/2 lb Ruben, 1lb Pot Roast sandwich, 1/2 Pastrami sandwich. On Monday's they have a deal buy a 1lb sandwich get a 1/2 sandwich 50%off!!! All sandwiches comes with a small bag of chips and a pickle. They also have different sides and desserts. I'm starting with the corned beef Sammy. That thing was huge! Very tender, just enough mustard and the right amount of salt! Easy 8.7/10 The Ruben my wife was handling that one she gave it a solid 7.5/10 unfortunately I didn't taste it. The Pot Roast sandwich was for my son who said it was average to him 6.5/10 The Pastrami is very good a great balance of smoke & seasoning very tender as well 8.9/10 I also got some Carmel cake (hey I'm a fat boy and we love cake) the cake was most, sweet and hit the spot! 8.5/10 all in all I'm definitely returning! If you like corned beef and want a sandwich worth your hard earned money check them out!! The service was also great!! 9/10 I dig this place! All in all a solid 8.9/10 (Remember all reviews are subjective)

Sandwich was very good. I got a pounder of corned beef and pastrami. Only complaint is I also ordered a 1/2 pounder corned beef and the sandwiches looked like they had the same amount of meat. Business was clean and service was fast.

Since seeing a "reels" review I to wanted to see how the corned beef was and the service. On this great weather day we took a drive from one end of Chicago to the South Suburbs. As we entered the store there were people standing around waiting on orders and people in line to order. We paused long enough to look over the menu displayed clearly. We were able to make a decision to make it easier to make our order without hesitation. The line went fairly fast and as we got to the cashier. She smiled as if we were the first customers and actually lit up which makes me and other customers smile. She repeated out to assure she had accurately heard the order. The only thing when processing was there's a screen asking for tips...I think she has been told to skip so much she automatically skipped it...I actually wanted to give her a tip because she was so pleasant. The store space is close, there are several tables and seating, however too close to sit in and eat comfortably. Conveniently there is a number printed on the receipt to be called when the orders are ready. Because of the long ride to and back I went to the restroom... Talk about clean! It was clean and the water when I washed my hands was hot immediately (good sign of how the water is in a restaurant ). There was a slight wait for the food, but that was okay because there were soo many people in the store. Once we got our sandwiches (1 pounder corned beef & pastrami on rye). We decided to at least take one bite while the sandwiches were hot. I must say there was plenty of meat, the bread was soft and there was a good amount of mustard just enough to taste. Couldn't wait to get home where we could really enjoy. It was just as we expected after getting home to spread out and enjoy. Glad we have thermal bag in the car to keep the sandwiches warm. We liked the fact of the pickle spear was in its own packaging. If in the area I recommend stopping in for a delicious meal and great service. P.S. With all the young people behind the counter they were ALL working and there was no audible conversations and even the young lady running the orders out to cars waiting was pleasant and fast. Just an all round good experience!

We tried this place for this time after passing it many times. When I walked in, the smell of the restaurant reminded me of New Orleans (my spirit city), so that was promising! You are greeted as soon as you come in the door by the entire staff, which is nice! The team is very nice. I ordered a pot roast dinner and slice of limoncello cake for my dad and a pastrami sandwich for myself. Unfortunately, I had to return to the restaurant because the amount of pot roast in the dinner was laughable (photo below). They were apologetic and explained that was the lunch size, which, in my opinion, is ridiculous even as a lunch portion. However, they were gracious about it and fixed the meal and threw in a free dessert for the trouble. For my sandwich, it was just ok. The bread seemed a bit stale. I wouldn't get it again. My dad thought the pot roast was ok, nothing special. He didn't like the mashed potatoes, saying they tasted like instant potatoes. He said the green beans were the best part of the meal. The limoncello cake and peach cobbler were excellent. This place has right what most places have wrong: Customer Service. The food can use some improvement.

Sandwiches that reflect the personality of the people serving you! Although D.A.'s is primarily a takeout place, it's a treat to sit and watch the people patronize this establishment. They are busy, and it's easy to see why. One of the 'one pounders' their signature sandwiches, is easily enough for two! They will sell you a half pounder if you are unable to rise to the occasion, or you don't want to have a great second serving later on. The food represents the heart and soul of this place. Stick around to watch, or take away You can't go wrong. I give them five big stars! Enjoy. I am glad I came while working here.

Too much fat left on the corned beef. The portion is good, but it's full of fat on the corned beef.

Lawlor's is one of the many such places around here if it wasn't already obvious. A little farther away from the Beverly bars and hangouts. The menu is basic and there's pretty good prices. Basically we walked over here after hitting a few other of the area bars. It's actually in a new location. The older one used to be located closer to 111th and Pulaski. It was a true dive. This one though is a lot more modern looking. Has the same drinks but with food that's also edible. There's still a charm to it though. It's about $5 to get Jameson. There's also plenty on tap. It's about $7 for the Pretzel Bites. Kind of basic with a side of cheese sauce. I used mustard. The rest of the menu has meaty items like pork chops and things like that. Good place to come hang a bit. It's in a new location about a mile away from the old one. This is worth checking out getting away from the more popular places on Western.

First time I came in got southwestern chicken soup. Spicy without being overwhelmingly hot. Lot better than progreessos version of the soup. And a grilled cheese that came with fries. Service from Nick (owner) was TERRIBLE…read more I was a long-time (20+ yr), loyal customer up til I was yelled at by Nick because I spoke up about consistently receiving orders much later than promised via online orders. I had placed many online orders for pick-up on my 30min lunch break, to ensure I had proper time to drive to, pick up my food, and quickly drive back from the restaurant. After a few pick-ups took around 20mins after promised time, I was pretty upset. I was told they only start making food once the person is there to pick it up, so I asked what's the point of placing an order online and receiving a pick-up time, when the food only starts to get made once you're at the restaurant to pick up? That's when the owner stepped in (My family and I have had many pleasant convos with him before at the old location), turned red, bunched up his face, and legit yelled at me "What do you expect? Do you want your fries to be cold or do you want them fresh?" (I was taken aback, and responded "I expect my order to be ready at the time indicated"). He told me I could go elsewhere. I get it. I was receiving consistently poor service and was upset when I asked the cashier about timing, so he stepped in to defend his worker. What I don't get is how you can tell a customer to go somewhere else when they're expecting their food at the time promised (or at least within 5 mins...I'm not THAT picky). Perhaps my expectations are too high?
