This place has really taken a downhill spiral. The last several time we've ordered from here the food has been terrible. From from the overcooked BBQ Chicken that has been sitting to long to the tasteless burger meat that's gives the flavor of what a Taco Bell meat patty would taste like without being seasoned. Last night will be our last visit. We ordered a gyro sandwich with tomatoes only. After arriving home we found all of the gyro pieces to be cut chunky as if the were the last pieces left clinging to the metal rod of the rotisserie. The meat tasted old and unseasoned and none had the outer char that is so appealing with gyros. To top things off the drive through service is no longer customer focused. They spend more time talking to each other instead of attending to the customers. I'm not sure if there was an ownership change or loss of great staff due to attrition. Not a hello, how are you or any thank you when you pay. I apologize for the low quality of the close up shots of the gyro pieces. Their food is always good fresh and hot. I ordered the half bbq chicken with baked potato. I added tossed salad as well to complete my meal.the total was $11 and change for all of this. The gyro plate was really delicious. They give you a lot of meat and two pitas. There is enough for a few meals. The Taziki sauce tasted sour. I'm not sure what happened to it, but a few of them tasted old. The bacon cheeseburger was bad. The burger was still very pink and had zero seasoning and just was not tasty at all. The food is made quickly, it tastes good, and the price is right. We both had a Big Mickey Combo which included a double cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, sautéed onions, mustard and ketchup; fries, and a drink. We made the fries cheese fries which meant they gave us a side of cheese sauce to dunk the fries in. Overall the burgers were good. My tomato tasted weird and there were a ton of onions, so I took those off. I also added some more ketchup to my burger. This hometown favorite has the best gyros EVER. Whenever I'm in the Chicago area, I HAVE to go here. They've been around since I was a child living in the Midlothian area. There are many choices for gyros in the greater Chicagoland area, but Mickey's is the BEST. The gyros are out of this world, and the staff doesn't mock you for ordering them plain. The Italian beef sandwiches are top notch, whether you order them wet or dry! The staff is always attentive and welcoming, and move any lines along VERY quickly. I get home to feed my kids the two hotdogs with ketchup and all the hotdogs have everything on them and two with slice of cheese. I don't understand businesses. This is one of my favorite places. I have been going here for years with my grandmother. Over the years, I have tried a little bit of everything. Most recently, I ordered the jalapeño poppers, chicken Caesar salad, and broccoli cheddar soup. The poppers are delicious. They are always hot and fresh. They give you a choice of sauces. I really don't like their ranch; I get their marinara sauce. The broccoli soup was the first for me. It was okay. I like that they have soups but I dislike that each day is different. My favorite is their Chicken Caesar Sauce. It has grilled chicken, tomatoes , cucumbers, Red onions, Parmesan, and crotons. It comes with 2 dressings. It is a large portion salad. I absolutely love it. I have been coming here for years and no complaints. During the summer, I always go here to get a small twist ice cream cone. There customer service has always great! I stop in after work to get some chicken noodle soup that I like from Mickeys. I purchased a large for about $5 and some change. The drive thru was nice and customer friendly, until I got home to find out that I had more juice than chicken and noodles. Not a happy camper. So, I called the restaurant to inform them about my soup, and the manager tells me that it was an equal amount, but if not happy bring it back. Unfortunately I replied that it wasn't possible because I live pretty far to be going back, and I was home. They tell me they could only give me 10% off on my next meal. Now Mickey's restaurant have just insulted me because .50 cent is nothing compared to the money I have been spending at this restaurant. I'm really disappointed because the manager didn't speak to me personally. This restaurant will not get another dime from me. There were a few ways they could've compensated me. I made my first order from here through Uber eats. I ordered half rib/half chicken dinner with a baked potato. The ribs were honestly the best I've ever had from a restaurant. I had one of the worst dinners I've ever had in the last 30 years since college dormitory cafeteria. I have pictures that show the disgusting slop that was given to my family. The ribs were completely burnt, pork was old which tasted like they were made on a dirty charcoal grill which literally made me sick. I had 4 bites, took pictures & threw everything out. Last nail in their coffin is they switched gyros meat company from Kronos to Corfu which I for one don't like, as it has a sweet taste that I don't prefer, although others might like it better though? Very very few gyros places use Corfu. I wonder why they switched? Ordered an Italian beef sandwich. Started eating & noticed it had somewhat of a weird taste. Kept eating to see if maybe it would go away but it didn't. At this point I'd had maybe half of it.
