This fast food restaurant is very good. I waited to write this review until I had tried a few different items. Thus far, we have had the hamburger, cheeseburger, double cheeseburger, chicken pita, fried mushrooms, French fries, jalapeno poppers and chicken soup. No complaints. Every item has been deliciously made. Their food is made to order. Nothing has been real greasy. The cashier was kind toward us. This little restaurant offers the opportunity for the customers to dine in if they choose. They also have a large selection of ice cream to choose from. I am new to the area and was looking for a good gyros and thanks to yelp I was recommended to Pappys and I am happy for it. Their gyros plate is huge it really is enough for 3-4 people. The plate comes with 2 pitas, tomato, onions and tzaki sauce and a bed of fries. Had their BBQ at the Windy City Smokeout and I have to say - it was some of the driest meat I have ever had. At least in a festival setting, I would absolutely stay away. Not that we always follow her suggestions but damn we go here a lot. I can say that I have never gotten something that I didn't like at Pappy's. The ribs are good, not my wife's favorite but I like them. Italian beef is top notch and the chili dogs are everything you would want. Just your basic hot dog/hamburger fare but they also have a few hidden gems on their menu. The chicken or steak pita is a great alternative and always tastes great. They also have some good soft serve. Really creamy and lots of flavor. Pappy's can be a little more than the other places but the consistency makes up for the extra cost. read more

First and last time here. Was just in area and yelped this place. Noticed people stating they had chicken gyro off the spit. I go to try it. I don't find this often so I order a sandwich with cheese, extra meat and pita. Total was $13. I say that's the same as a gyro plate right. The young lady yeah. I say, but can I get a salad. Tons of these little ass places serving up good eats for that grease monster in you. Yes the food here gets the job done, and that's it. No you wont leave saying "OMG this was amazing shit, I can't wait to come back." But more like "Okay, I was really hungry, and this place is right down the street. I'll keep this place in mind. Wait whats it called again? Poppy's or whatever?" I've had double cheeseburgers, the polish, and cheese sticks, and an assortment of other things from here. All pretty good. Food comes relatively fast. Not much to complain about, except the plethora of high school kids that pack this place nightly. Another decent one of "those" places. We've spent a ton of time driving back and forth past this place to visit family in the hospital. We've visited many restaurants on the strip and we're trying not to go to the same places over and over! We stopped into Pappy's for a little something different from the chains. The boy ordered the Polish Sausage and Fries and the Mozzarella Sticks. He's been here before as this was his old stomping grounds. He was glad that things hadn't changed. It was still a good standard sausage that you can go to for a quick meal. The Mozzarella sticks were great! I even had a couple! They weren't greasy at all and they had a great taste unlike most places where they taste frozen. I ordered the Chicken Wrap in an attempt to stay away from all of the grease they family has been ordering. I must say that I was happy with my choice. The chicken was nicely grilled and seasoned. The wrap wasn't over dressed like some places can do. We stopped here a couple more times in the weeks that we were driving out that way. They have real good gyro here and I am a fan of the tv's they have in there so can watch a game or whatever is on while with the kids. Gives them something to watch while eating. They have decent shakes and ice cream the kids love it. I would suggest any of the dinners you get a lot of food but they are pricey. Over all seems pretty clean and good staff. The cucumber sauce that they use is fresh and tasty. The service is good too. For a busy fast food restaurant they run a tight ship!
