I'm usually never in this area, but the first time I came was for a friend's celebration. The food was good. I didn't try any of the beer. The place was well kept and the people were cool. The second time I visited, I sat at the bar and had the Brussels sprouts. They were amazing. I loved our drinks as well. The bartender was super nice and gave great suggestions. Definitely enjoyed both visits.o

Love me a brewery and this one is no exception! Open Outcry has a great atmosphere both inside and on the rooftop. No tv's on the roof though. The food was really good and so was the beer. The Mexi Hot Chicken Sandwich was outstanding. It had great flavor and a lot of kick. I would absolutely order that again. The were enough beer options I ended up with two flights.

Stopped in after a round of golf and was starving. The inside was huge with plenty of seating and TVs. Our server was great and always checked in on us. I ordered the butter burger and Chidori super dry beer. The beer was very good. It was the lightest of them all. Now the butter burger was a hit. Patties were smashed to perfection and the buns were buttery with bone marrow! Can't forget the housemade pickles along with the confit garlic mayo. The French fries "cooked in tallow" were super crispy and perfectly seasoned. Reminded me of checkers French fries. Def worth a stop in if you're around!

Just a quick update to my review of Open Outcry from 2022. We've enjoyed Open Outcry several times in the past couple of years, and have always made a point to pop in on the rarer occasion we're this far down the south side. It's always a reliable stop for a decent beer and some good brewery food. That remains the case, even if the highs aren't quite as high as I once perceived them to be. It's still a diverse menu with options you don't see everywhere, like a house made beet/black bean veggie burger or a chicken sandwich with pesto on ciabatta. I will say that while I was excited for that chicken sandwich, this last visit it was subpar. Seasoned well, yes; but the chicken was dry and the ciabatta was stale. I ended up not eating most of the bread, which was unfortunate. The prices have creeped up, as they have everywhere, but don't necessarily reflect prices of the area. Sandwiches start at $18, and desserts are somehow $14?! The beer remains average-to-good in a very crowded craft beer field here in Chicago, but the list has been almost exactly the same the past few visits, which was not always the case. Lastly, while I absolutely love (and was thrilled to finally get to enjoy) the rooftop, the very young waitstaff was, shall we say, less than thrilled to be working. Maybe it was a long day, maybe they'd dealt with one too many drunken fools (there was one lady complaining about an extra $3 on her bill only to later pretend she didn't care), but these guys were so disinterested and unenthusiastic that it definitely was a bit of a distraction. But, that can happen, we've all been there. Overall, this is still a good spot for a weekend hang, and I really wish more places on the north side would be more inventive with their menus (real, homemade veggie burgers please!!) and look into rooftop options! Could you imagine, say, Old Irving with a rooftop? (so much for a quick update)

I have to get better at posting my reviews sooner. I hung out here last summer with a friend. It's a very casual hidden gem nestled right in the Beverly neighborhood. Great pizzas and a variety of frozen/summer cocktails The service is pretty neutral. The few times I've been, it wasn't bad, but also not superb. I guess just kind of what you expect, normal customer service I love being able to access a rooftop without having to go downtown. The cute little swings on the main level are also pretty neat. All in all it's a great place for a summer day.

This was off their limited time Oktoberfest menu.

We went during Oktoberfest and they had a special food menu and beer. It was great food and beer.

Cool brewery with a great selection of beers. The vibe is casual and there is a table surrounded by swings. Nice bar area. There's a rooftop which I want to check out when it's warmer. Visited for lunch. Server was friendly, patient and accommodating (even when we switched tables). Menu has something for everyone including vegetarian options but the menu items are very different on the Yelp menu. I checked out the menu before I went as I often do and was bummed to find another menu in the restaurant but food was good.

I came across this place, because I was looking for a brewery that sold beer flights. So I decided to try them out. They also have a nice selection of craft beers to choose from. Their customer service was great, along with a few tv's close to the bar area for entertainment. The waitress I had was nice, very helpful and patient. From the appetizers I tried the fried garlic breaded cheese curds, with marinara sauce. I'm my opinion the cheese curds and beer are a great combo, I had to go for a 2nd round of the cheese curds. I also tried "The Burger", it only comes with caramelized onions, merkt's cheddar, and dill pickles on a brioche bun. I had mine made medium well with a side a fries that comes with it. The burger was a big size patty that will fill you up. I will be back to try other items from the food & beer menu. I suggest others to check them out as well.

We had a wonderful experience at Open Outcry. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The beer was excellent. We tried 3 pizzas and one was better than the next. The homemade croutons on the Cesar salad were the best I have ever had. The roof top is super fun. We will definitely be back.

They had amazing serving and they make it just right! They also had very clean place and they had people cleaning when I walked in and all the servers were very full of energy and not dry!

We had a great time catching up with friends in a cozy corner booth upstairs. Service was great, appetizers were hot and delicious and the pizza, as always, was fantastic! My interest in visiting Pequod's Pizza came after watching LATRYGUY, a foodie YouTuber I have been…read morefollowing lately. As a fellow foodie, I am always looking for new spots to try--whether they are in Chicago, the surrounding Chicagoland area, or outside the state of Illinois. I honestly feel as though you cannot order from Pequod's and not get a pan pizza! Pan pizza is the entire essence of Pequod's; in my opinion, it is almost a crime not to order it. I ended up ordering their 7" personal pan pizza for lunch on a day when I was craving either pizza or pho. Whether using Grubhub or Uber Eats, I love ordering online for the convenience and the ability to schedule a pickup time. Most of the time, my orders are ready--or nearly ready--upon arrival. By the time I reached the restaurant, my order was almost finished. If you are someone who orders online as faithfully as I do, just keep an eye on the tracker for the notification that your food is ready. Because of this smooth experience, the likelihood of me ordering online from this location again is very high. I will warn you: if you are driving to this location, the curb sits high outside the storefront, so be mindful of that if you have a smaller vehicle. Parking is pay-to-park and shared by other businesses along Clybourn Ave. Remember to give yourself plenty of space when parallel parking; it can get tight since this restaurant has a consistent flow of customers moving in and out. During my brief visit, I noticed customers either carpooling or being dropped off, which I highly recommend if you plan on visiting this Pequod's location. Now, as for my food! "A cute little pan pizza," was my first thought after receiving the box from the employee. It was so adorable that looking at the box made me almost regret not ordering a larger size. However, its actual appearance took me by surprise once I opened it. After unwrapping the pizza from the aluminum foil, I saw its charred, caramelized cheese ring around the edge, a heavy crushed-tomato and herb sauce on top, and a stringy mozzarella pull in the center that was sticking to the foil. That sight alone made me salivate in anticipation of my first bite. I brought out gloves for this because I didn't dine in. Instead, I just pulled into a park and enjoyed this "cute little pan pizza" from Pequod's, which tasted incredible! The rich, tangy tomato sauce packed a serious punch that made me smile with enjoyment as I carefully avoided getting it on my hospital scrubs. Don't be deceived by the look of those charred edges, either--they are completely edible and delicious! You don't need to worry even if you have sensitive teeth. After finishing the last bite, I wiped my mouth and declared, "That was good!". If you are like me in search for something light, then I highly recommend their 7" personal pan pizza because it will leave you satisfied. In closing, I had a great ordering experience, as indicated in my review of Pequod's Pizza. Thanks to LATRYGUY for bringing this to my attention; I am happy to share my endorsement of this business with the Yelp community. I also want to point out that I am connected to 13 quality Yelpers who have already shared their excellent feedback about this location. I didn't mind waiting because it gave me and my partner a chance to look over the menu more and ask our server for recs, to which he recommend the Lou Malnatis salad. This salad honestly blew my expectations and I can see why it's such a crowd favorite - the roasted salami bits and gorgonzola cheese provided a really nice savory contrast with the sweet vinaigrette they used. When it comes to the deep dish pizza however, I think deep dish style just isn't for me. You can taste all the ingredients (the cheese, tomato sauce and sausage) but they don't really come together in a cohesive manner. I had one bite and I didn't really feel compelled to take another after, it reminded me of my own home cooking when I would add too much tomato sauce and overcooked the cheese on a lasagna. I'm not saying deep dish pizza or Lou Malnatis is bad necessarily, the service was friendly and attentive, I just think a regular pizza is more my speed.

We started with the Greek salad and flatbread, and they were just as delicious as I remembered. The salad is HUGE--I'll come back to that. For the table, I ordered the half-pound pot pie pizzas. You're given three options: sausage and mushroom, sausage without mushroom, or mushroom only. The first time I visited, I was brought there by a Muslim couple who didn't eat pork. Although I'm not Muslim, I also don't eat pork, and another person in our group doesn't eat mushrooms. We were able to find pot pie options that worked for everyone. I also remember the menus telling the interesting history of the area, including the connection to the Valentine's Day Massacre across the street. That history and character seem to have disappeared as well. When the pizza arrived, I honestly thought a frozen pizza would have tasted better. The sauce tasted like Ragu spaghetti sauce soup, with two nearly raw, completely UNSEASONED whole mushrooms floating in it. It was horrible. Because I don't eat pork, I needed an alternative for the meat. What I received were two DRY, OVERCOOKED, well-done, flavorless hockey pucks disguised as "meat patties" that I was expected to crumble into my pizza. Not one of the five people at our table liked their pizza. My brother, who has also visited this restaurant several times said the pot pie was not how he experienced in the past. At that point, a few of us agreed that we might come back for the salad and flatbread, but the pizza was a complete miss. Then things got worse! As we were getting carry-out containers to take home the remainder of our food--with hopes of somehow doctoring up the pizza in our kitchens--we divided up the leftover salad and flatbread. Our server gave us two condiment containers for the salad dressing. (There are two different dressings that you mix and drizzle over the salad.) We packed up our food, and there was enough salad and bread left for at least two more people. So we asked for additional containers for the dressing. That's when we were told there was a limit of TWO dressing containers per table. WHAT??!!! Even Italian Garden will give you as much dressing as you need without making you feel like you're being upsold to PURCHASE the dressing. At that point, all five of us agreed: the salad and flatbread were good, but they weren't good enough to make us want to return. The watery pizza soufflé and container policy, was a disappointment and turnoff. What I remembered as a unique, memorable Chicago dining experience now felt overrated and more like a tourist trap. It was $250 wasted. I'll also be sharing this experience on my social platforms as well. Honorable mention: The glasses slide around due to the unevenness of the tables (not the booths) and the condensation underneath the drinks. Spend money on the uneven light fixtures outside of your establishment and the rickety tables. Just a thought.

Then we split the Caesar salad and a pizza with half sausage/olive and mushroom/onion. Yeah, the pizza did blow me away- the crust is perfectly crunchy and so so thin. I wouldn't even describe it as traditional tavern style pizza because I think it's a really crunchy crust- but it's definitely wayyyyy better than Dimi Dimi (that's the most comparable crust imo). The sauce has a slight spice to it, and the whole pizza just feels very layered in terms of flavorful profile. The sausage was also spicy but very good and I absolutely loved the mushroom and onion duo. Sometimes when you go to a certain pizza places, it doesn't feel worth it, but all the ingredients felt elevated here and the pizza had an elevated taste. The Caesar salad had a nice light dressing and a ton of cheese. I wish that the lettuce had a bit more of a crunch to it, but they seemed to use butter lettuce. The Sunday salad was a 4x elevated version of the Olive Garden salad that we all pretend we don't love.
