A neighborhood lounge mostly for an older crowd about 30s. Small room with a bar, sitting area, a little dancing space, and a VIP section about the size of two closets. Staff was friendly and food was delicious. I got the chicken and shrimp fries, it was good and well seasoned. My friend had the wings and since she wasn't sharing I guess they were delicious ‍. House music at first and modern hip hop and rap towards midnight. Ppl were nice but if you're a young crowd be prepared to receive stares lol. I had a wonderful time at Smoke Filled Room. The ambiance was nice & there is street parking & a parking lot. It appeared to cater to 30 & older "urban" crowd. My sorority sisters and I went on Thursday for Karaoke night. The KJ was funny. We had a lot of fun! Drinks were priced competitively. And the food was GREAT! I had the Rock lobster & shrimp combo! I've visited the SFR on several occasions and always have had a great time. The atmosphere is very nice. Maybe on ONE occasion, it was over crowded but I think that was for a few birthday parties on the same night. The drinks are great and my music is always good 9 times out of 10. Security has never been an issue. The crowd is usually a more mature 30+ crowd which I love because sometimes too many young people can change the atmosphere. Even though its a small spot, overall I give the SFR 5 stars because I love the atmosphere, food and drinks. The owner and his wife are always a pleasure to meet and chat with. read more

Stopped in at about 8pm last night (Friday) and had a nice time. --The space is clean, nothing too fancy but definitely not just a hole in the wall either. The area where it's located seems quiet and was clean as well. It is a smaller space, but not tiny. There's the bar area, tables for eating, and also a sitting area w/ lounge chairs. -A definite plus is that there is a rather large menu (as far as small bars go) to order from. I decided on the fried shrimp ($10) and my boyfriend got the taco trio (jerk steak and chicken$6). The food was great, def no complaints. -Our server/bartender was super friendly and heavy handed=)She suggested two drinks and shots for us and we weren't disappointed. I order chicken tacos, a shrimp basket and a house salad. I just wasted $30 something bucks and I'm pissed. Not sure if they changed the batter they used for the shrimp but they aren't good anymore, the fries were disgusting, and the tacos had more onions on them than meat.... Where's the chicken???? My twin brothers had their 90's party here last weekend and it was a lot of fun. The space is a decent space for a private party, not TOO small but just enough. One of the things I love about this place is they serve food! you don't find to many small bars that serve food (at least I don't because i live in the burbs). But the hot wings are delicious and saucy how i like them. The bartenders were really cool also. The DJ was cool, i think the sounds are a little too loud being that the space is small and the sound waves don't have room to bounce out, BUT he played some of our most favorite 90s hits. The bathroom is clean and up to par as well. If you're trying to throw a pretty party, don't get here if ur expecting a downtown ambiance. It's not trashy it's just not glamorous. This is also my Sorority Sister and her husbands bar, and I love how they treat everyone that comes in regularly like "Family" and new people they welcome with open arms.
