First time here. Came into place an order to go, even though there were plenty of seats available, and they didn't seem too busy. We ordered wonder burgers, curly q fries, and chocolate shakes. The burgers were okay. We had ordered them as doubles but got single patties. The fries were good but probably better fresh out of the fryer. TERRIBLE SERVICE! I recently moved into the area and I was looking for a new bar to frequent. I ordered a drink and it make me feel sick, I asked for another drink instead and the bartender told me "no the best he can do is add tap water" not only did he not give me another drink he refused to tell me what was in the drink. I'm the only black person in the bar he made me feel very uncomfortable and I feel that this is racially motivated. He didn't treat the other people like this at all, he catered to them and was pleasant. I believe that something was wrong with my drink and I don't trust this place, I have never been to a bar and got this sick before and the bartender gets angry that I point out that something is wrong. I will go to the hospital if I feel any worse. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE The drink was $12, the kind of treatment is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE! EDIT: immediately after posting my review I received a direct message , saying that im only here to get a free drink and they see people like me all of the time (hmmm I wonder what that means) When I was actually looking for a bar to frequent and have a good time. First of all, there is little to no signage for this restuarant, especially if coming from the west. But we did find it and the interior was very nice. Clean, bright, not so much unnaturally generated noise (tv's, music etc) that a conversation could be had without screaming. Our server was very responsive, super friendly and took very good care of us. But....my wife had a burger w/fries and I had a french dip w/fries. The fries were not crisp AND they were not seasoned in any way. They arrived warm but not hot and our efforts to salt them went for naught. My wifes burger meat had no seasoning and the bun was soggy. My roast beef dip was also completely unseasoned in any way and actually left a strange after taste in my mouth once it began to cool off. Literally the worst dining experience ever! Waited 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us- a group of 8- just to be told- sit anywhere. There is a sign that says wait to be seated. Then waited another 5 minutes before I got up and got us menus. More time passes before we flagged down our sever who was rude and quite snappy. Drinks and orders placed- nothing complicated. Burgers were ok- nothing to rave about, I had the chili bowl- which was cold, and the cheese was lumped together. Has to get our own silverware, napkins, straws. Had to get our own water to get refills, had to flag down another server to place a to go order- a cheeseburger- it took 17 minutes for a to go burger and cheese sticks!!! This is a place to eat on the fly, it's not a place for coats and tails but a family friendly place to enjoy a quick sit down sandwich. My daughter and I enjoyed our meal , however the bread was soggy but good. All in all. Decent and good. We will come again. read more

Chili 5/5: Lindy & Gertie's thick and meaty topping style, no whole beans. Loved it! Patty melt 4/5: Two kinds of cheeses! Patty was my only problem, slightly overcooked and but not bad, could use a little more salt. Spicy cheese curds 5/5: Woah! A jalapeño-like spice to the cheese or breading. Unexpected but I liked them. Cheese Fries 5/5: Great fries, great cheese, crispy and seasoned well! Wonderburger 3/5: just not my style with that red sauce that was somewhere between ketchup and salsa, but that's just personal preference Root beer floats and vanilla shakes 3/5: ice cream could really stand to be of higher quality. The food is definitely not what one would expect when dining out at a restaurant but more like something you made poorly at home. No smiles from the staff, no pleasantries-just flat & unfriendly as if they are doing you a favor by waiting on you! Wonderburger always held a special place in my heart, and the reopened location is satisfying in atmosphere, service, and most importantly food! The new space is very open with a vast bar and two levels of seating. Wonderburger is helping Mount Greenwood into the modern era with draft craft beer and a pop art interior while paying respect to the neighborhoods nostalgia with the same reliable and enjoyable food offerings as before. It's a burger, people. And it's a good one. The fries are fresh, the Wonderburger has its signature tangy secret sauce, and the servers are friendly and accommodating. My boyfriend enjoyed the cherry pie a la mode as well and we both were eying the old fashioned milkshakes. The service gets better and better every time I go here. The artwork on the walls(which is for sale) is also great to look at and a good conversation starter. They recently started with a few gourmet burgers and they are amazing. Good in size, and great in taste. The family and I went here on Saturday December 9th after a volleyball tournament in the area. We walked in and were told to seat ourselves anywhere. We sat at a table, looked over the menus and waited, and waited and waited and not one restaurant employee came over. The waitress walked over to a near by table to collect a check and then she never came back. We waited in total 23 minutes before finally getting up and walking out of the joint. My family has been regulars at the original Wonderburger since the 70s. When the original location announced that they were closing we went multiple times before the doors finally shut and we've been missing it ever since. We were so excited and overjoyed to hear of the reopening and in it's return Wonderburger brought one of my favorite dives into 2019. The food tasted exactly as I remember, from to the toasted bun, half slice of cheese and special sauce on the Wonderburger to the curly fries and chicken dumpling soup! The fresh and bright ambiance is a modern and impactful tribute to the location on Kedzie. I can't wait to continue being a regular and pass the tradition to my future kids! read more

So Wonderburger was around for many years - I went there a few times when I was a kid as my dad grew up in the neighborhood and I started my childhood there as well. I can't remember exactly how it once was but the new Wonderburger is pretty good. It is not spectacular or anything to brag about. The burger is good the fries are good and they come at a fair price. If I'm looking for a knockout burger there are many other places I would go. Overall I would give the food at Wonderburger a 3 of 5 but they have a nice beer selection, great service and they've really created a nice place to go so that bumps them to a very generous 4 of 5. read more

I really wanted to love the fact that wonderburger was reopening but we had so many issues with our first visit. (All can be easily fixed) Our waitress was not friendly at all which was the biggest down fall because I feel as if our experience could have been much better with a different server. The booth we were taken to was still dirty. Our waitress never brought us napkins until we asked. I never received a water. I did order an adult root beer float that was not tasty, took one sip, and had asked the waitress if she was able to switch it out for a regular root beer float as it did not taste well- she said she would see what she can do, brought back a regular one and charged me for both the burger was as good as I remember. I can see why people say the fries are bland, they can use some more flavor but are still good. Hopefully they will train their staff with just being more friendly because it truly makes a big difference if customers will continue to support and spend their money at these establishments. read more
