The food is on point and very affordable it's been awhile since I had a really good gyro, friendly staff and service was great I would be returning when I'm back in the area read more

I was in the area for a workshop and it was my dinner time, and I just happened to see this place as I approached Ashland on 79th Street. I thought, why not? It's on a corner lot, and it has a parking lot right in front. Giving my order was easy, and for what I ordered - a gyro with fries and a drink - the price was right. There is ample seating for such a small place, and everything is clean (even the bathrooms, as I later discovered). The food was ready in a few minutes, and I have to say it was a really good gyro. The meat was roasted to a bit of a crisp in places, and the bread and sauce were just right. The fries were good, too. It looks like a place where most people carry out, but I felt very comfortable dining right there in the early evening. This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food, the service, and the atmosphere are surprisingly welcoming once you get in there. read more

I LOVE this place!!! Rib tips are ON POINT.BBQ sauce is absolute PERFECTION. They do gyros 2 for 1 deals.Neighborhood is kind of sketchy to say the least but REALLY GOOD FOOD!! Order ahead so your food is ready when you arrive. read more

Over all not bad for a fast food restaurant, under $11 for a gyro and extra sauce and fries. The Gyro was a bit on the greasy side for my taste, a bit dry. The pita was nice and soft, and nice amount of tzatziki sauce. I always ask for extra since I like to dip my gyro meat. The fries were nice and warm, and the total for a lunch was under $11, which included fries, drink, extra sauce and it was done at a decent wait time. read more

I had a referral to try Nick's gyros to on 79th and Ashland. So I went there ordered a large catfish at $16 ticket number 205. When I arrived home of course after texting I found out this was not catfish, and as a catfish lover I know the difference in the taste flavor of my fish. This was a cousin of, the catfish called Basa or swai fish. in which this fish has no flavor but it cuts in fillets like catfish. I contact Nicks #2 to inform them that the fish was not what I wanted to pay for because it was not catfish. The clerk said, well I will replace the order or refund you the money at a later time convenient to you. I agree but was contacted 10 minutes later to be asked to bring the fish back to the restaurant. I informed the clerk one I'm in the suburbs and I'm not returning to the city soon. She then asked me.to bring it at a later date. I informed her that I will not be holding on to fish until I return to the city to be compensated and that request was ridiculous. So if you like Swai fish I think Nicks gyros #2 will be a your place to go. I just you're not paying for Catfish that is.! read more

Great food, good people. The line wasn't too long and the wait was even shorter. First bite, I was sold.

Cheeseburger very good sandwich good place to go to get you a quick bite to eat but you have to watch out for all the people hanging around the front door begging for money if you can get past that the food is okay the girls that take your order a real ghetto they have a nasty ass attitude at times get past that eat your food and move on read more

Good food. Not the best customer service or attitude, guys in back work their ass off though.

I've been eating here since 2000 and the food is good...but the prices are way too high now and the size portion has decreased $11 for a chicken sandwich meal is ridiculous. I got a super assorted sub and it was like the size of a foot long or smaller for $10.50 the sandwich use to be way bigger a gyro with fries for $10.50 and it's super small I'm not sure if I'll be going back they are just getting over on people with the prices the food it's worth the cost. read more

I love this place, the Gyro, Super Taco, burgers, and nice size slice of pizza...I can eat here anytime !!!

Best Gyro's in town if you want a gyro this is the place always fresh ingredients easily accessible and service is timely

I have always been a fan of ma and pop shops and when I want something greasy from a place that could probably fail a health inspection I choose 79th street. you can not only get a meal to satisfy your cravings but you can also get dvds cds socks loose squares and maybe food poisoning but it will be the tastiest sickness ever.....plus you get a damn 5lb bag of fries read more

Went there yesterday for a Italian beef. OMG! Not good Quality at all. 1st off It's packed with people off the street asking for spare change. It's makes you really uncomfortable to pull out your money to pay for your food when you have people on the side looking. The Italian beef was horrible but the fries were really good. I probably won't be going back here. read more

I just started going to this place this year. I love the food so much I have gone many times this year and will go again.

Nicks have the best Gyros and Caramel Sundae I have ever had oh and let me not forget the awesome Cornbeef sandwich. Now delivers are a little steep and takes a nice minute but hey you gotta live a little read more

This food was too expensive for my steak to have so much fat on it. I only go here because it's open late but I will be finding a new spot.

Nick's offers a cheeseburger and fries special for$5, wehich is great, except the place by my apartment offers two burgers for the same price. Neverthesless I tried out Nick's as I was god-awful hungry, it was snowy, and had hours upon hours of high school basketball scouting ahead, so I needed something quick, filling and apparrently Greek. Thats a perk about this place, if you're going to get greek food you'd probably want someone greek to make it, right? Not like the chinese woman who makes the tacos around my neighborhood, but we're not here for here, we're here for Nick's. At the counter greeting you is a well built man full of hair and accent and chest hair...very greek. The place is clean and bigger than it looks. Even more they offer quite a menu and it didnt take that long to get my order, which was a giant turkey sub warm done just the way i liked it. i also had a slice of sausage pizza because it looked amazingly delicious ...and it was. Nick's also offers many types of drinks in many sizes, including a liter of lemonade...a fav of mine! With a nice variety of food and good fast service Nick's is a good place to stop if you're in a hurry! read more

Good cheap fast food. Greasy, salty, not at all healthy, but lots of options. I go here with other teachers from my school and we always run into students, but it seems to draw a pretty wide age range. read more
