This food was unexpectedly delicious. It is definitely in the cut, so you might not assume that the food here is good. The service was good. They were attentive and accommodating to me and my friend. The ambiance was nice. It would be a good place to go with friends, family, or a date. The food was great! The calamari was very good. I could tell they seasoned it, which is not typical for calamari in my experience. The carbonara pasta was delicious. I have a hard time finding carbonara pasta in the Chicagoland area, and I was glad that this pasta was delicious and semi authentic. For dessert, the sticky toffee carrot cake is good! You have to love sweets in order to like it though because I could see how it could be overly sweet to some people. The sour cream gelato on top was top tier. I never tasted anything like it before. We were staying at a hotel in Alsip for an event and needed a good place to eat. Needless to say, there was not a good restaurant in Alsip so we had to go to Oak Lawn for Francesca's on 95th! We had a great time, with great service and really good old fashioned Italian food!!! For our appetizer, we had the sausage and peppers. GAME CHANGER!!! Neither of us had eaten this classic Italian appetizer before and Francesca's version was a great introduction to this dish. Surprisingly, it was NOT the sausage that was the star of this presentation - it was the sauce and the peppers. The sauce was part top notch olive oil, part Italian seasonings and it was a wonderfully delicious background to each bite. The peppers (green, red & yellow) were perfectly cooked, luxuriously soft but still with a little crisp to them. Those peppers were perfectly cooked! I do think the sausage, while okay, was not up to the standard of the rest of this dish. For my main, I had the Linguini Alla Caruso - shrimp, garlic, olive oil with a basil-pine nut pesto sauce. It was very good, very good. Be warned though the sauce leans a little to the sour or harsh flavor. Not too bad, I certainly ate it up, but there was certainly a sharp taste every once in a while. My spouse had Dana's Bolognese. He was very happy with it! The overwhelming reaction to our main dishes was "holy crap" that's a lot of food! The dishes were as large as a coffee table and we NEVER could have eaten all that food no matter how long we sat there at dinner. Each dish was big enough to feed both of us and several people at nearby tables!!! But the best part of Francesca's on 95th was the service. Everyone was so friendly, so nice, hard working and willing to take care of our every need. Seriously, the staff worked their butts off and provided some of the best service I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Hats off to everyone from the hostess to the server to the bus people. You all really took care of us that evening. You will NOT walk away from Francesca's hungry! Is the food the best Italian I have ever had? My daughter wanted to go to an Italian restaurant that was pretty inside for her birthday so we tried Francesca's. The restaurant is simple but lovely inside. This is a place where you can go on a date or for a family dinner. Both my girls had the rigatoni allá vodka, one substituted the sausage for chicken and the other had no sausage. I was happy that the kitchen was able to accommodate their requests without any hesitation. The portions were large, neither girl was able to finish but were they excited about the leftovers. I was full from an earlier meal so I only had dessert, profiteroles which hit the spot. I also had a Miele e Limone to drink which was delicious. I could have had two. I reviewed a lot of Italian restaurants and this one is at the top of my list if you're in Chicago ridge I would definitely stop by and have a wonderful dinner but we chose to go at lunch we ordered a chicken parmesan it was absolutely amazing but my staple and most Italian restaurants is the Alfredo and this one was absolute fire we asked them to bread the chicken although it is a little pricey you can't beat at the size of it you would get two meals so definitely worth it and to top it off I didn't even have to doctor up my alfredo you want me over will definitely be going back thank you for the great service great food definitely five stars oh if they had more I would give you more stars read more

I hosted my wedding dinner here, and I want to start by acknowledging some of the things they did well. They provided the necessary cutlery for us to cut our wedding cake, allowed us to serve it to our guests, and thoughtfully boxed the leftover cake so guests could take some home. I also appreciated that staff boxed leftover food for guests as well--those details did not go unnoticed. That said, there were several issues throughout the evening that made the experience stressful and disappointing. To begin, I arrived at 4:20 PM hoping to place centerpieces before the event. My contract stated I would have access at 4:30 PM, but another event was scheduled in the same space until that exact time. Realistically, this made it impossible for me to enter and set up as planned, especially since I had to leave shortly after for my ceremony. I ended up rushing and leaving items behind without proper setup. I believe they did place the center pieces for me and place my things in the private room but the miscommunication was not expected since the time was placed in the contract. Service timing throughout the evening was a major concern. I had scheduled appetizers for 6:30 PM, but they did not begin until closer to 7:00 PM. From there, everything felt significantly delayed. The pacing of the meal was extremely slow--so much so that the main entrees did not arrive until around 8:30 PM, and dessert wasn't served until nearly 9:00 PM. Some guests had already left by that point. As the bride, I barely had a chance to eat. I was constantly waiting for food, and when dishes finally arrived. Overall, the meal extended to the very end of our reserved time, which was not expected. I also found the execution of the "family-style" service confusing and inconsistent with what is typically expected. Instead of all dishes being placed on the table together for guests to share and choose from, each item. Dishes came out separately over a long period of time. Guests didn't know how much to take or whether more food was coming, some guest had to leave because they had little children meaning they were not able to even enjoy the entrees. Drink service was another issue. Several guests mentioned that it took an hour to receive their drinks, and there was no clear communication about what beverages were available. If menus were not going to be provided, I believe that should have been communicated in advance so I could have prepared something for guests. The room layout was also tighter than expected. We had around 40 guests in the space that was said to accommodate up to 70, yet it felt cramped. It seemed like extra tables may not have been cleared after the previous event, which impacted the overall comfort and flow of the room. Unfortunately, there was also an incident where a server spilled champagne on the groom's mother and sister. Their professionally done hair and dresses were affected, and while the server appeared embarrassed, there was no clear follow-up or apology from management, which was disappointing. Lastly, the paper coverings placed over the tablecloths detracted from the overall aesthetic. For a wedding, this detail felt out of place. I would have appreciated the option to remove them, even for an additional fee, to create a more polished and upscale atmosphere. Overall, while there were a few thoughtful touches, the delays in service, lack of communication, and execution issues significantly impacted our experience. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as better coordination and transparency could make a big difference for future events. read more

Tried almost everything on their happy hour menu. The 4 out of 5 stars was based on seasoning. Things were just a little under seasoned. Best happy hour item we tried was the mussels. Previously I rated it 5 stars but they're slipping. Twice we had food that was a bit off or just bland. Raw garlic shouldn't be the sole seasoning on a dish. I was extremely disappointed during my second visit to Francesca's. The ambiance is great and the staff initially were wonderful. I was seated at a table for four and while waiting for my group, I was going to order a drink. About ten minutes after I sat down another table was seated behind me. I noticed a server who looked at the table behind me and then my table and proceeded to greet them immediately after I had already been seated for 15 minutes with no server interaction. I wanted for her to finish with that table and take their drink orders before asking her if she was our server to which she said yea. I asked if I could order a drink as I had been waiting a long time already prior to that table being seated. She apologized and said yes. I ordered my drink and 20 minutes passed before I received it. My food, which was a 29.99 plate was not worth the money. The chicken was bland and had no flavor and the pasta was undercooked. At this point I had ordered another drink and it took another 20 minutes to receive. I had to tell another staff, who was working his butt off, If my drink was ready. He spoke to the server twice before I received it and she claimed "the bar is overwhelmed. Might I add there were only two tables in the entire place, I don't believe the bar was overwhelmed. This is the first place I've been where you don't have a designated waiter/waitress, just a bunch of staff members running around frantically back and forth. We were seated and waited about 20 minutes without being approached by a waiter. Finally a waitress stopped by and stated she was not our waitress but was helping out, she took our order. We had to hunt down random staff member just to get a drink order in. We received our food and ate. We waited an elapsed time of about 30 minutes to receive the bill and pay. Had lunch today and wanted to give a shout out to two employees, our servers Oscar and Marshan "Sleepey", thy were attentive, pleasant and professional, providing service with a smile!! Our only complaint was the burgers were all under cooked, asked for medium well, but they were more medium rare to medium. Every time I search for restaurants that have GF food, Francesca's is always a result. Finally dined in tonight with friends and I'm so glad I did. The look and feel of the restaurant gave me classy vibes. Front of the house staff were all smiles, friendly and very welcoming. We had a reservation and were seated right away. Very knowledgeable server that made sure we understood the menu options. He did not write down a thing and didn't need to. All 4 of our orders were exact. I enjoyed mussels as an appetizer along with GF Pasta al Sugo Di (jumbo shrimp, scallops, garlic, olive oil, saffron and tomato sauce). Everything tasted pretty good. The pasta had good texture for GF and I was able to eat the entire dish. For dessert, my hubby and I shared a "Sloppy Sundae". So delicious and flavorful. Reminded me of a virgin mudslide. This will be my first review ever. I've eaten here twice. Christmas was the third time. I'll start by saying that the staff was professional. At the end of all of this it is clear that it is managed poorly for the holidays. The food was horrible. What type of Italian restaurant runs out of Parmesan cheese that goes with the bread and olive oil. They bought all the dishes out separately 10 minutes apart. I think the reality is, that this restaurant can't do holiday servings. Our reservation was at five we were seated at 6:30. They ran out of menu items at 6:30. I ordered the halibut the shrimp, the hell that was overcooked and I got two shrimp. The people next to me were the same and had six shrimp. I watched the other tables, and people were sending their food back be in because it was wrong. It's too bad, the other two times both on holidays were decent. If you're going to go to Francesca's go to Frankfort, or the one on Clark and Belmont. This one is a little better than the one in Palos Park, but I've never been to one of Palos Park during the holidays. I give it a Christmas Day D minus. read more
