My fiance and I went here for our anniversary and to be honest, I'd 100% come back! To start, we were seated right away which was great and it didn't take long for our waitress to come over. She was pretty nice and very knowledgeable about the food menu as well as the drink menu. For my meal, I did enjoy the bone in ribeye steak with a baked potato with the added shrimp! You can add 4 large shrimp for an extra charge and it was worth it. The shrimp tasted like it was cooked on a grill and had that smokey flavoring to it. My steak was also cooked perfectly and was jam packed with flavor. It literally melted in your mouth! The potato was also good; their butter made it 10X better. I'm not sure what kind of butter they use but it was really good on that and on the bread they serve at the beginning. My fiance had 2lbs of king crab legs and while they were very expensive for only 2lbs (we get it - market price but this was A LOT), they did taste like they had been frozen for awhile. We were not impressed with them at all and he 100% regretted getting them, especially for that price. We were very disappointed in those. If we do come back, we will definitely stick to steak or maybe another fish. What made this visit so awesome was that our waitress gave us a slice of cheesecake on the house to celebrate our anniversary, which we thought was so kind! They even put a heart around it! Had a bad experience here. First, the food was really good. I had the chicken and mashed potatoes (because the steaks were incredibly expensive). The service was particularly bad. There was only one table seated when I got there and the hostess said to take my pick. I picked a seat on the wall and she informed me that it was reserved (the only table in the entire restaurant apparently). My server was very slow, even with 3 tables. Despite stating several things clearly, she would do things that weren't in alignment with what we were talking about. For instance I said I was interested in the chocolate cake for desert... I asked if they had that and said she wasn't sure. Then at the end of my meal I asked again and she went to check for like 12 mins and came back and said they are out. A good server would have checked earlier. This is just a tiny example of the dozen things she didn't do well. Also the pricing is REALLY expensive in my opinion and they add on an extra management fee (I think it is like 3% and optional and you can look like a jerk to ask them to remove it). This fee is to help keep their already expensive prices down. I think it is tacky to slip this on the bill without telling you. This place used to be better as Louies Chop House. It had a warmth to it and great food and better prices. I know meats are expensive these days, so maybe they should consider something like a sirloin on the menu that is more affordable. I dined here about a month ago on a whim. Service was attentive and our waiter was friendly. I loved their cream of celery soup. It was amazing. Surprisingly the star of the dinner and came complimentary with our dinner. Both my dining mate and I ordered the porter house and I unfortunately was disappointed with the quality of the steak. I thoroughly enjoyed this place tonight as we celebrated my sister's 30th wedding anniversary where they renewed their vows‼ I will tell you this the staff was kind, approachable, friendly and professional‼Our server at our table was Laikin as beautiful as her name is, she was just as beautiful inside & out‼ Laikin was patient, very accommodating and her servitude was quite exceptional‼ I personally ordered the Sea bass that was cooked to perfection‼The appetizers were scrumptious! I also tried some kind of potatoes that I never had before that had cheese on them & I know it probably sounds common & plain however, believe me, when I tell you that IT IS ABSOLUTELY DIVINE‼They do have a full bar for your drinking pleasure, if that's your thing. Who charges an operations fee added to your bill and tip is included in a party of 3 when the service was ok at best ! We got over charged for king crab legs , they said market price . Our party of 14 decided to visit Rockefeller's today for Mother's Day. The restaurant is actually pretty spacious and has a beautiful bar area. Several folks in our party started with the lobster bisque. They said the flavor was good, but the bisque was very salty. I started with the Oysters Rockefeller. As you can see from the picture, they're HUGE! They were also super tasty. Ate every single 1! They were offering a special package for Mother's Day: a $200 meal for 2 that included a Tomahawk steak, 2 lobster tails, a half pound of king crab legs, 2 potatoes, and tiramisu for dessert. The crab leg was beautifully flaky and tender. After the oysters and the crab leg, I was too full to try much of the rest of our food. One thing I will say is that nothing I ate today (other than the Oysters) was seasoned. Everything was incredibly bland and needed to be doctored up. Date of Visit: September 27, 2025 My mom and I visited Rockefeller on 9/27 and were extremely disappointed. We both ordered the Twin 10oz Lobster Tails listed at $200 each, but what we were served looked closer to 6oz tails--and they had a noticeable fishy smell. When we politely mentioned this to our waiter, his response was dismissive, saying there was nothing he could do. To make matters worse, he mentioned a surf and turf special (filet and 6oz tail for $85) after we had already ordered. It honestly felt like he upcharged us on the "market price" tails just to increase his tip, which was automatically added to the bill. This was my mom's first visit and my second, and unfortunately it will also be our last. For what's supposed to be a neighborhood gem, the service and integrity were both terrible. It's sad to see such poor customer care at a restaurant with this reputation. Loud music was also playing that we could barely hear each other during conversation. We will not be back. read more

Father's Day dinner was at this location this year. Wanted to try something local and I was in the mood for steak so the wife and the kids found this spot. The atmosphere was old-school steakhouse it was not very upbeat. Also the location is not ideal as it is in a strip mall next to a jewel. But overall friendly staff and great menu. We ordered quite a few things as we wanted to try some of everything. The oysters Rockefeller was very good the fried calamari was extremely good the fillet sliders were very good we weren't a fan of the spicy shrimp appetizer. We also ordered quite a few entrées which were very large in size I ordered the ribeye with Parmesan crust which was extremely good I also had the mashed sweet potatoes were very good and the brussels sprouts were really really good! So had reservations here for Valentine's Day and was sat right away. The place was pretty packed. We ordered the shrimp, mushrooms, and chicken soup to start (all of it was good). We ordered our entrees and everything came out pretty fast even the appetizers. I usually eat well done steak but the menu and our waitress stated that they wouldn't be responsible if the steak came out like a hockey puck SO I opted for medium well and the waitress stated if anything, they could just put it back on the grill if it wasn't to my liking, ok cool. My food came out and of course the steak was too pink for me BUT the waitress did not show her face to our table for a good 30 minutes or more for me to even tell her I wanted it back on the grill. She never mentioned the Valentines food specials they had, I overheard another waiter telling his table & decided to ask my waitress. As I looked around, other tables in my waitress section were siting around waiting for her as well. I was so mad that I didn't even want my food anymore and I believe it would have been good. Oh and not to mention, they ran out of so much food, oysters included although they are called Rockefeller's. The waitress never apologized or a manager never came out. Whoever coined the phrase "hidden gem" must have been referring to Rockefeller's. After recent visits - 99% of which have been amazing, I'm convinced that this place is truly something special. Since writing my last review, I've been lucky enough to meet the owners of this establishment, and they (and the staff) are the very definition of the small family business that I believe is absolutely essential in every community. When I write that these people care about your dining experience, it is the understatement of the century. I recently attended their 1st wine pairing dinner experience, and it truly was a night to remember. The food, the service and the hospitality made it next level. I certainly hope it's an event they plan on repeating the future. My wife and I recently stopped in to celebrate her birthday, and again, Rockefeller far exceeded our expectations. I've raved about their Parmesan Crusted Filet Mignon. This last one was not only the best it's ever been, but it quite possibly could've been the best steak I've ever had. I've been lucky enough, because of my job, to have been truly spoiled when it comes to steakhouse dining. I've dug into cuts of beef at Sparks and Peter Luger's in NYC. I've eaten steaks at most (if not all) of Jeff Ruby's properties in the Midwest. St. Elmo's in Indy? Check. Manny's and Murray's in Minneapolis, you ask? Check, and check. Golden Steer in Vegas? Yep. I've had steaks at probably 4 or 5 Palm locations, as well as multiple trips to almost all of the other high end chains - Sullivan's, Gibson's (sorry Chicago, but that's what it is..), Morton's, Ruth's Chris, etc... I know what you're thinking right now.... This guy is a prick. I truly don't mean to sound that way because I consider myself to be very lucky to have had these experiences in my life. The reason for the list is merely perspective. I just don't want you to think that I am measuring up the steaks at Rockefeller's to a hunk of beef you might get served up at the local Bonanza! So yeah, that's what I'm talking about... This place is that good. My wife ordered a pound of the snow crab legs, and they were exactly as advertised. - split in half so they were easy to eat and very delicious. We started the meal with their seafood platter. A lot of places phone it in with these all-encompassing platters of various seafood. If you're not ordering some sort of overpriced "tower", your typically getting an array of previously frozen muscles, stuffed clams and calamari. The platter we had at Rockefeller's was incredible. It featured a season shrimp, some stuffed clams, fried calamari, sautéed octopus and their signature Oysters Rockefeller. The owner told us that the octopus was his grandmother's recipe. It was some of the most delicious and tender octopus we've ever had. For whatever reason, up until this last visit, I've never had their Oysters Rockefeller. That was a mistake. Shame on me, I mean the name of the place is "Rockefeller's"?!?! Hands down, the best I've ever had. If (when) you visit, just order them. Ridiculous. I wish nothing but the best for this establishment, and it's become my favorite spot to dine when you're looking for an upscale dining experience. I'm so glad I found Rockerfeller's on yelp while we were visiting! The lobster bisque was to die for! I think it takes the cake as my favorite soup I have ever had, and I've had my fair share of bisques! The ahi tuna tartar, filet sliders, lamb lollipops, and chocolate mousse cake was good as well (we wanted a little taste of everything lol). Went to the Mother's Day brunch. The brunch was $55 per person and included everything from fruit, breakfast items, prime rib and a raw oyster and shrimp bar. Although there was plenty of food and they did not run out of anything, the food was extremely bland and room temperature. The presentation was nice and the weight staff was excellent. Was our favorite restaurant whenever in Chicago. Overall experience was good. Waitress, Nicole did a great job and lamb chops and pasta was great. However my wife did not like the mashed potatoes and only ate enough to taste. Had them sent back and requested that the $7.00 charge be removed. We're informed that the amount could not be removed. Requested a manager, waited for about 10 minutes before manager, Demetria came to the table and stated that that is the way mashed potatoes are done. Once again we requested that the charge be removed, she refused and said that she would call the owner to see if the $7.00 could be removed. She returned, said the charge could not be removed. Walked away stating that if the potatoes had been cold or something else wrong they could possibly have the charge removed. The manager's attitude of not really caring was the major reason for giving the restaurant 2 stars. We will not be going back. read more

It was bland and lacking in cream. We had to add salt and pepper and it still was not great. I ordered Alfredo pasta for my child and the Alfredo sauce tasted like melted cream cheese and nothing else. The crab legs were decent, but nothing special. The ribeye was mediocre. Came to this place for the first time to have a dinner with my family. I was surprised by their wide and awesome menu. They have variety of options and their offers are cheaper than other restaurants around the area. We ordered their Stuffed Pepper Soup, Oysters, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, and their famous Tomahawk Steak which was very tender and savory. Everything was delicious and generous.
