Palermo's has always been one of my favorite spots on the South Side for pizza, but this time I decided to switch things up and try one of their Italian dishes instead. I ordered the meat ravioli, which came with a side of chicken noodle soup. The soup was actually really good, as it was warm, flavorful, and a perfect little starter before the main course. As for the ravioli itself, it was decent but not especially memorable. Each ravioli had a generous amount of filling, which I appreciated, but the filling leaned a little too salty for my taste. The meat sauce on top also fell a bit flat and didn't add much flavor to the dish overall. I'd still definitely come back for the pizza because Palermo's does that incredibly well, but I'd probably skip the ravioli next time around. read more

I've been here a couple times and never got around to writing overview. Each experience of being here is never the same. Sometimes the service is really good and sometimes the service isn't so great. Same thing goes for the food. It's never consistent but when you're there on a good day, it really is worth the trip and other times it's just all right and that's okay. I really like coming here with my family to eat pizza. Their sauce is sweeter than regular pizza sauce. Palermo's different and the energy is very family friendly. Also, TRY THE CARROT CAKE!!! It's so good! read more

Attended a banquet for a family funeral and did not meet the 25 minimum. Upon reserving the room we were told that the policy is flexible. At the time of payment that was not the deal we wer charged for the full 25. on top of that the bar was cash and we were charged for all the fountain drinks that were one of the 4 drinks included. Coffee was asked for by a couple of us and never delivered. i would not recomend this place if you cant meet the minimum. read more

We ordered through uber. Our order consisted of a large palermos special pizza, tiramisu and chocolate cake. Unfortunately we received a plain cheese pizza. The pizza itself was very good and I'll bet " The special " would've been even better. We did get reimbursed, but that's not the point. The disappointment was real The mix up is why i gave 4 stars instead of 5. Giving less then that seemed unfair seeing as the pizza itself was tasty . The desserts were very good as well. And it was our first time experience ordering from Palermos. We might give them another chance in the future and maybe get to taste their special pizza. read more

We had the Sicilian shrimp & Calamari, deep dish pizza, and tiramisu. The shrimp and calamari were very good with roasted bell peppers. Very fresh and tasty. The deep dish was very decadent in flavor. The sauce is definitely on the sweeter side though. I found myself adding some salt and Parmesan so it would tone down the sweetness a little, but I still really liked the pizza. I might just be used to more acidic sauces in general.... The tiramisu was decent. The best part was the plating. Very nice flavored cream and caramel drizzle came with. Overall, we're happy with our choice of deep dish while visiting the Chicago area! read more

The food and the ambience are superb! The first time I went there the service was excellent. It was a little bit more crowded today and our waitress was spread a little bit too thin but when she was at the table, she was very courteous and kind. There's nothing negative to say about the place. It is quaint. It is cozy. It is comfortable. The only thing that I have a negative about is the parking. It's difficult to find parking if there are a few families that have shown up in groups to have dinner there. Other than that an excellent experience try the tiramisu it's to die for. read more

The pizzas are sooo soo delicious especially the sauce. I'm a big fan of the sauce so I like to order it with a little extra sauce. The place is very lovely and the service is top notch. Very helpful and kind service. The food is fresh and the meatballs are phenomenal. read more

We have been going to Palermo's for many many years, never ever had the best service ever as we did tonight! Pedro was our server. So attentive, caring, kind, paid very close attention to detail with what we needed. He even gave us dressing on the side for our salad. We didn't even have to ask. I cannot say enough about him! Pedro I give you 10 stars!! You made our night Great! I hope you are recognized for your best service. I only wished that all servers were as good as you. God bless. read more

Food was delicious! Ambiance could only be bettered with fresh flowers or candles. Service was a little spotty when bus boy that had just filled my nieces water told my grandpa that he had a water carafe in front of him. He's over 80, hard of hearing and not in great health. It shouldn't require too much effort to offer to poor the old mans water. Overall was a good experience...youth training aside. read more

You can no longer order your pizza your way!! Palermo's now on make pizza toppings half & half, for probably the last thirty we were able to order 3/4 cheese, sausage & 1/4 pepperoni. They installed a new system that will only order half & half. What a shame, just like many establishments can't get what you want you take what they'll give you. read more

Five-star pizza. Period. I've been getting Palermo's carryout since shortly before the Bears won the Super Bowl. Stop laughing--it's hurtful. I'm not going to get into a fight over deep dish versus thin crust, especially since Palermo's does both, and my mouth is watering just typing this. If you don't appreciate a sweet South Side sauce, then this probably isn't your place. But if you do...damn, it's a must. The thin, cracker-style crust is my favorite. It has great char underneath and around those caramelized edges, along with lots of cheese, lots of savory sausage, and lots of--well, whatever you order. They do not skimp. I hesitate to call it tavern-style, even though it's cut that way, because Palermo's piles on the ingredients far more generously than most tavern pizzas. Hungry? This is it. Need to feed a bunch of people? This is it. Got a brutal hangover? There may be no better pizza on earth. Palermo's has been one of my favorites for decades, and that has not changed. read more

Ordered the veal parm , meat was tough , dry and tasted old . Not impressed . Their sauce very tart and like an open can of crushed tomatoes poured over pasta . Hubby ordered lasagna and it was cold in spots . He was up with an upset stomach all night . The place was packed on a Thursday evening so I was hoping for something delicious. Our friend ordered pesto pasta and it had a ton of olive oil sitting on the bottom of the bowl . So much so that she had to soak it up with paper towels in order to eat it . We won't go back there . Service was spotty , maybe because it was so busy but we had to ask numerous times for silverware and napkins . read more

Palermo's 95th is as old school as it gets and easily in my top 5 pizzas in Chicago. We had the Buffalo Chicken Pizza with spicy breaded chicken in Cool Ranch sauce and melty mozzarella, a classic sausage pizza (with the best sweet red sauce!), and tomato bruschetta. Everything was spot on from the crust to the sauce to the toppings. Service was great, the vibe is cozy and nostalgic, and you can tell this place has been doing it right for decades. If you want classic Chicago pizza with genuine hospitality, this is the spot. read more

Appetizers and salad were fresh and delicious, and pizza was hot, fresh, and delicious. **************************************** Good pizza and very friendly service at the pick-up/take out section. Palermo's is everything Chicago thin-crust pizza should be. The pizza is outstanding from the first bite to the last. The crust is cooked perfectly, thin, crisp, and sturdy, and the pizza is cut just right, so every piece comes apart cleanly and holds together the way great pizza should. The sauce is absolutely delicious with a rich, classic flavor, and the cheese is just as good balanced, flavorful, and perfectly melted. Everything works together seamlessly, which is what sets this place apart. This is true Chicago-style pizza: thin crust, cut into squares, done right. On top of the food, the atmosphere really adds to the experience. The dining area is nicely decorated, comfortable, and welcoming, making it a great place to sit down and enjoy a meal. The service is friendly and attentive, and you feel taken care of from start to finish. Simply put, this is my favorite pizza Chicago pizza the way it's supposed to be. read more

The food was 3 the pasta was over cooked the marina or red sauce with clams was the worst I ever had. I do not know what spice they put it was not paired Well the taste was so bad I did. Not eat it. The pasta with beans was delicious, the grilled calamari's weee accompaniment with bell orange papers and black olives this is a new for me to have grilled calamari but not bad the eggplant Parmasan was ok but once again the spaghetti was well done not Al dente the marinara was 2 thumbs down. We also had spaghetti with a huge meat ball. The portions were very generous The service was great at the very beginning but we had to hunt for our server to get our check we came with a child and I think the service should be quicker because children can only sit still for short periods of time The ambiance was so loud that you could not hear the music playing on the back ground the tables are way to close together I was elbow to elbow with the next people sitting The ambiance was way too busy I did like the fact they sat us with out reservations Our service was very accommodating and very friendly read more

This has been one of our go to places over the years living in Chicago. After five years living in Tennessee, we made a point of eating here during this visit. It was a pleasure to see that absolutely nothing had changed. I ordered my usual, Cioppino. Theirs is definitely the best this side of San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf. I really love this place and tonight was especially wonderful because of a server named Neemah. I've been to this place many times and I truly love the food.... But the server was top notch tonight I was having issues with the Alfredo. honestly it was an easy fix ... But I cringe when I have to send anything back.. But Neemah truly was phenomenal ..She has a skill that cannot be taught you just are gifted with it .. And that quality is actually caring about people and their experience... And she was determined And executed a wonderful dinner being able to mediate any issue from the kitchen to the table... Thank you again for a successful dinner. Thank you again Neemah... Palermo you have a great staff..... And I can tell you take care of your kitchen or if there's a kitchen manager. I'm not sure how you guys work. Everybody seems to be on the same page and that is your customers leave happy... And that tells a lot about a business.... From the owners to the management ,to the kitchen to the servers........ You don't know how happy I was tonight. I've reviewed a few restaurants the past month and they were hot mess. I know I can always come here and I don't have to worry about having a bad night... read more
