This place is easy to miss if you just drive by, but once you step inside it's a whole different vibe. The decor feels like you walked into some old Italian castle, kind of medieval but cozy at the same time. I went with the ribs and they were perfect, tender, juicy, a little sweet, and served hot like they just came off the grill. They also brought out a bowl of chicken soup before and honestly, I wasn't expecting much, but it blew me away... rich flavor, super comforting. The owners came around to check on us and they were just genuinely nice, cracking jokes and making sure we had everything we needed. That kind of personal touch makes a big difference. WOW! We have been here several times and from our first visit it felt like a good old friend was inviting us into his home to cook us a meal. The food, both Italian and American, is truly excellent. The hospitality is beyond compare. The facility is neat, clean and very comfortable. We are very frequent and discriminating diners and I can assure you that you will be doing yourself a favor by trying this wonderful venue. This is a family owned and operated place and if we do not support and enjoy such places we will lose them and be left with a bunch of "cookie cutter" chain restaurants and their cardboard food. read more

The owners Sammie and Angie are superb restaurant owners. We had a party of 8 and they treated us like family. The food was superb!!! If you want a drink its an okay place to go to, but if you want food McDonald's is more satisfying. Out of me and my family members we had the mushrooms, red tail fish, BBQ chicken, and ribs, and soup. Everything was very salty, service wasn't great, food kind of made me sick. In general while eating it was "okay" but nothing I haven't got at any other place. Yet an hour after eating the food doesn't settle well. The fish had to be given back because of its horrible taste, the mashed potatoes seemed like a box mix thrown in with chunks of garlic and the mushrooms plan old icky. This restaurant is an abomination to the food service industry. Previous to being a restaurant, it was a strip club and some of the old décor remains. The ambiance is terrible. Just inside the front door is a beautiful fireplace that was covered with papers, old books, dusty knick knacks, and garbage. There's no reason for this much personal junk (like old high school text books piled in a corner) to be in a restaurant. So, it's filthy. Then, there's the disgusting food. We ordered what we were led to believe was a Parmesan Mushroom appetizer. We were served canned mushrooms swimming in ranch dressing and baked with a slice of swiss cheese on top. It was horrifying. We also ordered onion rings that arrived cold, limp, and saturated in grease. My 4 year old daughter was with us and she wanted a shrimp cocktail and a dinner salad. The dinner salad was wilted and the limp cucumbers were a translucent, milky white. The shrimp cocktail they served a 4 year old was raw. Not undercooked. RAW! Apparently, the (and I use this term as loosely as I possibly can) "chef" can't tell the difference between a bag of pre-cooked frozen shrimp and raw frozen shrimp (if a fresh shrimp had ever been in this building, I'd be amazed). My grandmother ordered fried chicken and said it was terrible. I tried a piece of the breast and it was literally "brittle" and broke apart in shards. My wife ordered Greek Chicken and said it wasn't bad overall; however, she only ate about 10-20% of her meal. My beef dish didn't offer any redemption either. It was so tough, I could barely cut through it. Then there was the service. We had an older woman wait on us and while she was very sweet, she was unbelievably slow. After delivering our food, we really didn't see her again until the end of the meal. I complained to her about everything. She literally tried to cut my meat, fingered my grandmother's chicken before taking a bite of the wing, and tasted my daughter's shrimp. She made a comment about how I was right and it was terrible. She disappeared into the kitchen with our plates. Figuring she was telling the "chef" and talking to a manager, we waited patiently. 20 minutes later, she came out with our leftovers wrapped up, dropped the check on the table, and hurried off. There was no compensation and there was no apology. While waiting for her to return, my wife said she just wanted to leave. I placed the exact amount of the check on the table and we stood up to leave. At that exact moment, the lights dimmed, the colored stripper lights from days of yore began flashing, blaring music started, and... wait for it... I'm not kidding... A short, fat Elvis impersonator came running out. My 4 year old almost crapped her pants as she began screeching in terror because this fat psycho was running at her while screaming like a lunatic. I was about to leave our doggy bags on the table, but decided to take them even though the waitress touched and tasted almost everything we had on our plates. When I opened the containers at home, she had packaged up the raw shrimp and the wilted salad. Among the raw shrimp was the one the waitress took a bite of, so it didn't surprise me to find the chicken wing with her teeth marks in it all packaged up too. The only reason this restaurant gets one star is because no stars isn't an option. They've been open for several years and I can't understand how they stay in business. My only guess is alcohol sales. While leaving, I noticed a rather large crowd of beefy, lonely, 40-to-60 year old women swooning over wide-load Elvis. These women must drink like fish when they gather to see piggy Elvis perform because the restaurant certainly isn't getting return customers because of their food. read more

The only thing that was good here was their service, probably because my dad and I were the only people in the entire restaurant. I should have just stuck with their specialties like the pasta dishes, but I just didn't have the taste for it. Instead I ordered the chicken sandwich instead with garlic mashpotatoes. Not very good, the chicken was flavorless, and the potatoes were box potatoes that they literally threw in the microwave and tossed some garlic salt over, However, their french onion soup wasnt too bad, but everything else was not up to par. I usually will never say this about a restaurant, but the food was truly awful. I had the spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were not homemade They tasted like the frozen ones you can get at Aldi's. The sauce had no flavor. My husband had the eggplant parmesan which consisted of a few pieces of breaded eggplant over pasta. The eggplant was undercooked and the pasta overcooked. We had the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer. Again, no taste and smothered with cheese. Even the bread basket left a lot to be desired. We will not go back read more

The food was an insult: high-priced and low-quality. I ordered the breaded tilapia and received some kind of broiled white fish. When I questioned my order, the hostess said that the menu was wrong that they never bread tilapia and that the owner needed to get new menus. The fish I received was tasteless and was stuck onto the metal platter it was served on. The side for this meal was rice, a huge plate of moderately flavored rice with no vegetables in it. It was the cheapest thing they could have served. My salad consisted of iceberg lettuce and tomato wedges, something I'd expect from a cheap diner. As for the atmosphere, the air was stuffy. It was 85 degrees outside and they weren't even running the air conditioning. They were running ceiling fans that didn't cool the air at all. I went in October 2014. The owner made me feel very welcome the moment I sat down. I was eating by myself and he was nice enough to chat with me and make me welcome. I had the shish-kabobs, and the meat could have melted off the skewer. The mushroom caps were delicious! (my only comment is that the rice was salty). I really like this place. I've been here twice, and both times Sam the owner has been super friendly. I'd recommend the Whitefish.
