This place is super cute! My friend had been before and suggested we enjoy some cocktails and apps here for girls night. We walked in on a Saturday night around 7:30ish and were able to find 2 seats at the bar with no issue. Very chill atmosphere. The ambience was fantastic. A bit dark, but perfect for a relaxing night of drinks and good convo! I had the matcha match and holy water (both vodka based drinks) and they were delicious!!! Super smooth and mixed to perfection. For apps we had the flautas and the king crab dip. Both were so flavorful! And I'm not a flauta kind of girl....get those. Trust me. Overall I enjoyed myself and wouldn't mind coming back! PS. The location is pushed back off the street behind some buildings.

I love this place for a girls night or date night. But it is very pricy. Very. A few drinks, and 2 appetizers will run you $100 for sure.

Mother's Day dinner was disappointing, especially since we had an early 5 PM reservation and the…read morerestaurant was only about half full. It took nearly 15 minutes for our server to greet us, and our appetizer arrived before our drinks, for this round, only three drink orders total. Throughout the visit, we felt pressured to place our entrée order before we were ready. Once our food arrived, we noticed the enchiladas had red sauce instead of the tomatillo/green sauce we ordered. The food runner insisted the red sauce was tomatillo sauce, which was clearly incorrect. What stood out most was the lack of service continuity. We were seated by the window and noticed our server, Jacqueline, left around 6 PM simply because her shift ended. There was no introduction to another server or any handoff whatsoever. After waiting quite a while with no one checking on us, we eventually had to go to the host stand ourselves just to close out the bill. Our tab was around $200. Rather than dine and dash, we paid in full for the food and drinks, but chose not to leave gratuity based on the experience. The food itself was nicely presented and overall tasted good, but high prices comparable to Chicago do not automatically make a restaurant upscale. If you're looking to overspend on Mexican cuisine while receiving poor customer service, this may be the place for you.

As always, the restaurant was clean and well maintained. We were seated in the coffee shop area, which was about half full. Our server greeted us immediately with a warm smile and welcoming personality. She promptly took our drink orders and returned shortly after to take our meal selections. We started with an order of chicken livers. There was a bit of confusion because on a previous visit I had ordered a half portion of the appetizer. I asked for that again, but the server seemed unsure. When the bill arrived, we were charged the full $16 appetizer price. After checking with the manager, she informed us that half portions are no longer offered. Had that been clearly explained upfront, I likely would not have ordered them. That said, the livers were outstanding -- possibly the best I've ever had. I requested the onions well done, and they came out perfect. The livers were tender, buttery, and beautifully seasoned. Honestly, they were hearty enough to be a meal on their own. My wife ordered the boned breaded perch lunch portion. We've had it several times before and it has always been excellent. The light breading allows the tender, flaky perch to shine. One small disappointment: there is now a $2 charge (noted on the menu) for melted butter to accompany the perch. I ordered the breaded frog legs, which we've also enjoyed in the past. They were delicious again. The same $2 charge applies if you want melted butter with the frog legs. Lunch portions include a side -- mashed potatoes with gravy, the daily vegetable (green beans), and a choice of four slices of marinated beets or coleslaw. Unfortunately, the green beans were served at room temperature. Aside from the misunderstanding regarding the appetizer portion, the service was excellent. We will definitely be back.

This comes out in service to customers. The food still is acceptable but the failure to be nice and friendly has made the experience an abject failure. They have lost my confidence and we who go once a week are now done. No more. Consider yourself warned and buyer beware. Lots of good options in Crown Point that will provide good service. I and a few other family members were invited by my mother and by the time I walked out, I was wondering why this place wasn't packed wall‑to‑wall every night. Let's start with Monday's AYCE perch -- absolutely outstanding. Lightly breaded, perfectly seasoned, and fried just right. It's the kind of perch that makes you rethink every mediocre fish fry your uncle threw that your family tolerated. If you're a perch person, this is your new weekly ritual. Then came the walleye, WATCH OUT NOW, and honestly, my sister wasn't prepared. She said it was flaky, flavorful, and cooked with the kind of herbs & spices she recognized that said, "Yeah, we know exactly what the hell we're doing." "It's the kind of fish that makes you pause mid‑bite and appreciate life for a second." But the real surprise of the night? The bacon, mushroom, and American cheese hamburger -- unforgettable. This thing deserves its own billboard. Juicy, stacked, and unapologetically delicious. Every bite felt like a small celebration. On top of all that, the place is spotless. I mean impressively clean. Floors, tables, bar area -- everything looked like someone had just finished polishing it. You can tell the staff takes pride in the space. And speaking of the space... Yes, the building once housed a gentleman's club. But now? It's so clean, so friendly, and so well‑run that the only thing dancing is your taste buds. The only thing exotic here is how good the food is. Pivot Lounge has officially earned a spot on my "must return" list. Great food, great service, great atmosphere -- and a glow‑up story worthy of its own documentary.
