5 stars for Lemont. Probably 4 stars in Chicago…read more Walked in on a Saturday for an early dinner. It was 5:45, I didn't have a reservation, a they didn't have a table available until 7:30 but there were spots at the bar which they said was full service. My friend and I cozied up to it and ate there. What a surprisingly good experience. The staff was super friendly and that bartenders had great suggestions. I hate when people at the restaurant say everything is good. Not these young ladies. They made some sound suggestions which we followed. French onion soup and the steak frites were both excellent and priced well IMO. They have a really good whiskey/bourbon selection with a few hard to find bottles. I settled on a Blantons neat. They had Pappy, but I'm not wasting money on that anymore. Food came out quickly and we ate and watched a baseball game. The locals at the bar told us about their membership program where I guess for a small mo they fee you get a bottle of wine and a charcuterie plate once a month. Seemed like a pretty good deal. I don't live anywhere near there, but if I did I'd certainly join. In any case, if you live anywhere close, this is definitely a worthwhile restaurant to visit. Seems like there were quite a few singles there as well if you are looking to meet someone. I have no idea what the dating scene is like in Lemont, but this might be a good spot to try.

I was craving steak frites, and discovered Barrel & Vine for a reasonably priced steak meal. The food is honestly the best thing about this spot; the vibes aren't quite right for a special date night, but might be perfect for a birthday party or girls night out and service can either be hit or miss. If you come here, definitely make a night of it in downtown Lemont - there's lots to explore, whether for a nightcap or dessert after Barrel & Vine to turn it into a night.

There's something you need to do here before joining their wine club or even looking at the menu,…read moreit is requesting Elesha as your server. While the food was delightful, and most of my choices as a CHW newbie were influenced by her suggestions, her kindness and personality were the star of the experience. She has the style and grace of a professional server in Chicago or LA. NWI is lucky to have someone as talented and warm as her. I thoroughly enjoyed my drunken shrimp, salad, seafood bisque, and chicken madeira. I really loved the option to have a smaller lunch portion because with all of these appetizers I was unable to finish my meal and had a delightful box of leftovers to enjoy later for dinner. There is also a great variety of NA drinks and cocktails that are fantastic. The ambience at lunch was lovely and once you actually enter the dining room, the din of the tasting area is dampened. Thank you again, Elesha. You made a special day out with my mom even more special.

The chicken was small pieces and the sausage was tasty but cut up small. I ordered a Peach house made lemonade. The beverage was described as having a peach purée in their house made lemonade. It could not see the peach purée but, the lemonade did have a slight hint of peach flavor. Restaurant has beautiful decor and has a definite mood/vibe. It would be good for a date night. I recommend requesting a section with no children since the table two tables over had a small child screaming and throwing a temper tantrum on the floor. Or request to sit outside on the patio. The patio looked great. Our server was polite and prompt. She was able to answer any questions we had intelligently and concisely.
