They did have specials for the Football Season and daily specials. 5/5 Service: I was the first one in the restaurant since I arrived when the restaurant was opening so the service was perfect! 5/5 Ambiance: I love the small space! It looked like there is a stage near the entrance so I believe they might have live music some days! The bathrooms were clean and the restaurant was orderly. Drinks here definitely not the issue, but as far as service expect to be treated with a bad attitude by management. I attended a bingo night here where I organized a party for my aunt and it was just awful. This bar should not offer to host events as they clearly do not have the staffing or the space to do so. I was treated quite disrespectfully from start to finish simply for trying to set up a few small birthday decorations. And they're impossible to reach by phone in order to plan ahead for your group. Don't expect them to cater to any of your parties' needs or assign a dedicated server to your group. For the amount of money spent on this event and brought to their business I expected far better treatment. As for the bingo night, again awful coordination and execution. The place was jam packed and no one could hear the bingo caller. They have shitty speakers/microphone so don't bother trying to actually play bingo, you won't hear anything. Oh and they're 0% handicap friendly, don't expect them to accommodate anyone with mobility limitations. In summary, I would never host another event at this bar and I hope this review encourages others to look elsewhere. Completely disorganized and a pain to work with. Went with friends to Stray Bar after dinner to see our friend who was singing there. A few people were there as it was a week night, but we all started mingling and dancing and had the time of our life's. Wine and martinis were excellent. Our bartender looked like Amy Schumer and was joking and dancing behind the bar, and was encouraging the fun. Definitely will go back, especially a Thursday night with entertainment and Lori behind the bar! read more

The Stray Bar should be kept a secret. It's one of the best little bars in the south suberbs. You can listen to good music on the weekends and still hold a conversation. I determined I really "needed" a martini after dinner the other night and dragged my friend here. There was some kind of a holiday party going on. People all had ugly Christmas sweaters on and there was a band singing Christmas music. It ended up being a blast. The martini list is good. Everything from traditional to fruity concoctions. I really love this place! It's cute and cozy and service was great. Joe and Emily are phenomenal bartenders and me and my group had a great time chatting with them. The only thing I didn't know was the age of the crowd. This place is definitely more for 40+ BUT there were people as young as me as well. They have live music on the weekends and the brother/sister duo I saw last Saturday was amazing. This spot is perfect if you just want to have a couple drinks, chill, and catch up with friends. I've popped in on Saturdays in recent months. Both times a live keyboardist/singer was performing. If you don't sit too close, it's not too loud. My friends always enjoy their mixed drinks and I enjoy the wine. This bar is like the kid in high school with so much potential who just didn't try. Add to that a really obvious lack of care and weird vibe, let me elaborate. 1. The music is horrendous unless you're into teen idols. 2. Clearly they are trying to appeal to an affluent adult market (of the wine choices, several are $20-25 PER GLASS!) 3. I don't know a discerning wine drinker who would pay $24 a glass to listen to Shawn Mendes. 4. The decor is a bit like a fraternity house. The fake leather couch we sat on was torn to shreds, slip covers over the upholstered chairs. Every table has a candle holder but the candles are never lit. 5. The kids who work here have very little professional training. The girls giggled and made a joke to us as they both left to go outside, presumably to smoke. They told us, jokingly, not to steal the vodka (something like that). Totally not their fault, they're just not professional bartenders and do not have mature service skills. 6. I've been here several times now and the place is generally empty, aside from one time when a great musician was playing. Numerous people in the area are waiting for someone who cares to buy this place and give it a total overhaul. Go to Trails Edge instead. This place is neglected by whoever owns it and that person's lack of experience or care is really obvious in my opinion. read more

Went there last night for a couple of drinks around 6pm before dinner. There were four people at the bar... and a loud, obnoxious bartender. Since we were meeting two other couples there, we were deciding whether to sit in one of the lounging areas (featuring tattered dirty, love seats and chairs) or at the bar. Before we could decide, the unpleasant and rude bartender said, "I'm not waiting on you over there". As I approached the bar she asked in her rude, gravelly voice "What do you want". I asked if she didn't want us there for some reason, and she just said no, that's just how I am. So anyway, I order a Miller Lite and before I can order my wife's drink she says "We're out of Miller Lite". By then, one of the other couples we were meeting arrived and they ordered 2 margaritas, but the bartender said "This isn't a Mexican restaurant and I don't make margaritas". Everyone ended up drinking drinks we didn't want, while listening to this obnoxious, loud woman babble behind the bar. At one point we tried to order some appetizers but she told us the kitchen was closed (rather odd for being 6pm on a Saturday night, plus there were people at the bar eating). I had been at this place before and put up with the cramped tables (and rather high drink prices for a hole in the wall), because they have some good live music, but after last nights experience none of us will ever be back. It's really hard to believe they let this wacky, rude woman work there. read more

I would like to give this place a rating however, they weren't open both times I tried to go. The hours on their door say Monday 11am-11pm went there at 2 not open. Stray Bar is a cute little place in downtown Frankfort. They offer a great martini menu and half price drinks during the week. Cozy couches and quaint seating areas. They occasionally have live music. The appetizers are very good too. Good place to have a decent drink and a conversation. read more

We had been at Frankfort Fest and decided to stop into the Stray Bar for a quick drink before we headed home tonight. We had been here several times as friends of ours are often the entertainment. We sat down and asked for a cocktail menu. Bartender rolled her eyes. Whatever. Ordered martinis. My husband decided he didn't like the martini and ordered a Bud Light and a shot of Jager. She gave my husband the Bud Light and when he asked for a glass she literally ROLLED her eyes and said, 'REALLY, your are kidding me? You know we close in 10 minutes?!' And, 'We are our out Jager (as we see the bottle )! My husband gave her our credit card and and said we will take our bill. In the meantime I overheard another bartender and thought perhaps he might be the owner. He shared that, 'No, that the bartender that had waited on us was actually the OWNER (are you kidding me!?). This guy's name was Joe. Great guy. I had heard him mention HOMEWOOD. Our hometown. He couldn't have been nicer and apologized. We had lots of HOMEWOOD places in common. He totally tried to make up for our very negative experience. How is it that an employee cares more about your business than the owner?? She told us her name was Kate. Well, Kate we will NEVER be back to your establishment as a beer glass was too much of a request for you. We have a daughter and many friends that live in Frankfort. To start, we had reservations for a Saturday night. Our first time there. We stood there for almost 5 minutes before one of the 2 bartenders came to help us. We were seated----and we sat there for over 15 minutes before the same bartender (who sat us) took our drink order. Each time we needed a drink we had to call the one of the 2 bartender/waiters to us. At no point did I see the bartender/waiter ask ANY table if they needed anything. The customers had to get their attention to order. A Saturday nite with only 2 bartenders to service the whole place?? Sorry, that is unacceptable to me. read more

The Stray Bar is a piano bar that recently opened in Frankfort. A group of 5 of us went on a Friday night. We had so much fun. As the night went on the crowd grew yet the noise level, even with the piano, was great--we could hear each other. For the 5 of us with 3 drinks apiece the bill was only $46.
