5 Stars -- Food, Service & Atmosphere! What a fantastic find! We are always looking for restaurants that deliver on all three things: great food, excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere. The Dock on Front absolutely nailed all three! My husband had the smash burger, and I ordered the Cajun Chicken Alfredo. Both were delicious! I also tried the Pumpkin White Russian, which was absolutely fantastic and the perfect fall cocktail! Our waitress, Haley, was wonderful! Friendly, attentive, and genuinely great at her job. Excellent service can really make a dining experience, and she certainly did. The atmosphere is just as impressive as the food. Such a great space with a welcoming vibe that makes you want to sit back, relax, and enjoy yourself. We had a wonderful experience from start to finish and will definitely be back! I wanted to like the Dock on Front Street more than this. It's very cute and the location is convenient for parking. Service was fine. More check in's than what is customary but that is not a big deal. The food was adequate. I ordered a Chicken Caesar salad and while the portion was large, it was completely flavorless. The dressing was bland. I'd pick something else next time. My dining companions had the jalapeño chicken sandwich and enjoyed it but the fries were limp. The soda was very syrupy but the server replaced it with a different one. What was really weird was as we were sitting at a table in the bar area, two males were actively rearranging tables, leaving us on an isolated island. They could have said something but didn't. We also had a broken chair at our table, like, the entire seat was not attached to the base. read more

Not my first time here but first time sitting outside. Ran to get after work then after looking at a few local options decided to come back here. I sat outside with my puppy with a handful of menus... wow, specialty drinks of the month! It didn't take me long to decide on my order but it took a while for my food, an appetizer and a crafted margarita. I was outside by myself and the inside wasn't full. I saw several people walking around, not sure how well staffed, or organized since I had to wait for host when I walked in too ( 5 pm ish). I was done with food and drink and waited. Over 30 minutes after I was done then I got up to go in to ask for check. 15 minutes later I also asked her if they kept her busy inside. She said yes... hmmm no big groups?!? So, didn't get to enjoy more food or drinks but I'm glad I had enough for my puppy :) if I choose to go back, I won't sit outside. read more

We went to Dock on Front with high expectations after hearing all the buzz. In fact, we actually tried going about a month ago but left after learning there was a two-hour wait -- which honestly only added to its mystique. When we finally made it in, I was surprised by how small and intimate the place was -- cozy atmosphere, limited seating, and a lively bar setup. The highlight for sure was the Margarita Flight Boarding Pass. Super creative idea! You pick four flavors from their list, fill out a little "boarding pass," and hand it to your server. Between two flights, we tried coconut, huckleberry, mango, strawberry banana, blackberry, key lime pie, peach, and raspberry. Every flavor actually tasted true to its name -- bold, fruity, and fun. Definitely the most memorable part of the night. For appetizers, the Burrata Board was fresh and well-balanced -- creamy burrata, prosciutto, and honeycomb made for a great light start. The French Onion Soup was a twist on the classic -- a bit lighter in flavor but still comforting and satisfying. For mains, we went with the Buffalo Chicken Salad and the Charleston's Classic Smash Burger. The salad was fine but nothing that stood out -- grilled chicken topped with buffalo sauce rather than fully tossed in it. The burger had great flavor and the Merkts cheese was a star, but it leaned more toward a hearty pub-style burger than a true "smash." Overall, Dock on Front was good -- flavorful food, unique drinks, and a fun concept -- but it didn't quite live up to the hype. I'd tell anyone it's worth visiting once, but I'm not in a rush to go back. After all the buzz, I expected to be blown away--but it fell just short of that mark. read more

6 weeks. 6 weeks is how long this establishment has been open. 6 weeks! And I happen to just bump into this restaurant on Instagram. So glad that I did! It's adorable. Truly adorable! Kim was our server and she was so kind. We had their flight of margaritas. They come in assorted flavors(frozen) From key lime pie, to coconut (my favorite), peach, watermelon, just to name a few. We started the meal with spicy cauliflower. YUMMERS! Crispy, spicy, deliciously packed with flavor! I chose for my entree a smash burger. The Charleston. Plenty of gooey cheese and grilled onions! I couldnt finish even half of it. I opted for a side salad instead of fries. My girlfriend had one of their variety of chicken sandwiches and she reports it was tasty and filling. She could only finish half of hers as well. The feel of this place is definitely seaside, nautical ish! We sat outside to enjoy the beautiful day. The drinks, the bites and the service were absolutely wonderful. If you have not stopped in, make plans to do so. Mokena is building up! Its literally right across the street from the Metra station! This was my fourth time here. Truly have enjoyed every experience!! Your salads are amazing! Fish tacos great! The ambiance reminds me of a mini "summerhouse" in Chicago or Disney Springs. Always great service!! Yesterday I tried the jalapeño popper chicken sandwich. (Huge portion btw) While the chicken was REALLY good and not dry, when I think jalapeño popper? I think cooked. Slicing raw jalapeños on top didn't cut it for me. Just not the same flavor? We do love it and will definitely be back! read more

We stopped at this place last night. We were too tired to go home and cook so we saw this place. We've never been there. Look like a cute little place that had outdoor seating we went in. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist who took us to a table where a waitress with initials. I think they were MC short for Mary. Kate took our order for Honey, salmon and rice and broccoli. Everything was very good was a generous portion, and I followed it up with a cup of coffee, which was very good and the place is cute clean and my wife commented that the bathroom looked like it had never been used, which means they give attention to the bathrooms so this is an easy five star read more

I have a gluten allergy. I go to this restaurant with my friend and the waiter told me that I wasn't safe there, yet other gluten allergy sufferers posted that they had a great experience on the Celiac review app.. I was confused so I asked for the manager who went over with me what was safe to eat. She did not write my order down but told me she'd notify the kitchen. My salad came out with gluten containing croutons on it! Yikes! And my gluten free chicken sandwich came with lots of mayonnaise on it when I had requested it on the side. No apologies from anyone there which is a huge red flag! I did attempt two times to leave a message with the owner to contact me and the owner never did. My husband would have loved to try The Dock, but he won't eat there if I am unable to. Such a shame when food allergy sufferers are on the rise, and this place is non responsive and fails to want to provide the proper protocols so those of us with food allergies can safely eat there. What could improve is being responsive and listen to their customers. read more

We were seated at a high-top near the bar, and our assigned server was also tending bar. Another server initially brought us water and let us know our server would be with us shortly. When our server finally came over, he only took our drink order and left without asking if we wanted appetizers or were ready to place our food order. Our drinks were delivered by a third server, and then we waited approximately 20-25 minutes with nothing but drinks and menus. During that time, we watched the table next to us get seated, receive drinks, and even get their food while our server never checked back in. Eventually, I flagged down another server and asked if she could please put in an order for calamari. She was very kind and helpful. A few minutes later, our server finally returned to take our order, and by then it was obvious we were frustrated with the wait. Unfortunately, instead of immediately putting our order in, he stopped at the neighboring table to chat for several minutes with what appeared to be regulars or VIP guests. As for the food, it was underwhelming overall. The calamari lacked flavor, although the marinara sauce served with it was excellent. I ordered the grouper with mashed potatoes -- the grouper was just okay, and the potatoes were dry and disappointing. Overall, this was a poor dining experience from start to finish. We were excited to try this restaurant, but within minutes that excitement turned into disappointment. Sadly, we will not be returning. read more

If you live in the neighborhood and haven't gone yet, I highly suggest you go. I have been there several times I live with him walking distance and I must admit the menu is getting a little tired for me already. But the food has always been consistent and I've always been happy with my choices. What hasn't been good is the service. The managers or the person at the host when you enter the restaurant is always friendly and warm. But I have had some bartenders and waitresses that were downright nasty. With that said I still recommend it. I will give them the benefit of the doubt. read more

The menu choices are varied and there should be something for everyone. The wait staff are punctual and friendly and the service is overall very good. The ambience is comfortable and if a little bit noisy, but we were there when it was quite busy so I wouldn't hold it against them. read more

I recently dined here with friends and the food and service were fine, but the billing experience was very disappointing. I carefully reviewed the check, wrote $0 on the tip line, carried the total down with no tip, and left a cash tip on the table. When I got home and looked at the photo of the signed receipt and my credit card statement, the restaurant had added a 20% gratuity that was not listed or disclosed anywhere on the bill. I called the restaurant the to inquire about the charge. I felt the managerI spoke with was not being truthful in their explanation, and the manager eventually hung up on me abruptly. This left me feeling scammed. If you're paying by card here, take a photo of your signed receipt immediately and double-check your statement. It seems they're adding undisclosed gratuity knowing customers may not catch it right away. I will not be returning. read more

We stopped by on Sunday around 5 pm on Labor Day weekend. We called ahead but they don't do reservations. They told me though that they only had a 5 minute wait which turned out to be true. We were seated and our waitress greeted us. The place is beautiful, the food was great, and the prices were not too bad. It does get very loud in there.we recommend trying it. read more

BIG HUGE TURNOFF...ITS SOOOOOO LOUD IN HERE!!! We started off with a cup of the cream of chicken and rice soup: Absolutely FABULOUS!! I had the blackened grouper with asparagus and rice. It was wonderful! My husband had the honey glazed salmon and mashed potatoes and broccoli. He enjoyed his meal, too. If they can do something about the noise, it would be beneficial... Annnnnndd.. 2nd time eating at this establishment. The 1st time all the food was fresh and delicious. This time they seemed to make a few changes. The fries were originally homemade, now the are frozen its a shame because the original fries were much better. Had the jalapeño popper chicken sandwich with the grilled chicken. Wasn't very good. The meat was chewy and had no texture. Tasted as if it was frozen I asked the waitress if the check Breast was fresh or frozen and she did not know. Probably wont be back. Simply fantastic! This place has everything you want in a great neighborhood restaurant destination. The dining area was newly renovated and has a clean groovy vibe. Very open floor plan with patio dining, a bar and lots of seating. We arrived a little after 4:30PM and the place was packed with enthusiastic dinners. The place was noisy but in a very good way, everyone was having a great time. We were seated promptly by the owner who was gracious enough to stop by our table and say hello. Our server Dan was a delight, he played along with my lame dad jokes and made us feel at home. The menu items we enjoyed were very good and reasonably priced. I'm looking forward to returning and trying some other items. This is truly one of my new favorites! read more

Our first time there tonight and we started with the nacho's, I had the blackened grouper that came with broccoli and garlic mashed potatoes, I substituted the broccoli with a side salad, husband had the chicken Parmesan and brought half home because it was such a huge portion. The Pros: Cute place! Great smashburger and onion rings. Pastrami reuben OK, but not as good as a regular reuben. The pulled pork sliders excellent. Service fine, but waiters spend minimum amount of time at each table. The "con" below could be part of the reason for that. The Cons: Soooooooo loud inside. I couldn't even hear the person sitting right next to me. Don't go here during "peak hours" if you want to carry on any type of conversation. Or, sit outside if you can get a table. read more

Everyone said the Meal was excellent. They have a great banquet room for 60 People. Washrooms were excellent. Don't miss this new Restaurant. We recently had a baby shower at The Dock. It was absolutely fantastic. The room looked fabulous, the food was great and the service was way beyond what we expected. Kim was the best and made the whole stressful situation a smooth process and had our guests praising her afterward. Stopped in last minute based on reviews. Able to get seated right away manager brought over some waters right away. Server came by after 10 minutes and took our order, drinks and some burgers. Food time was about 15 minutes however our drinks came literally right after our food. Mine was watered down from the ice melting. My burger was overdone. Onion rings were good though. Calamari that was $17 came out with a lemon that still had a sticker on it. Which this indicates that it wasn't washed and over looked. Steak sliders came out well done and a hair in it. Came for the special today, 2 HUGE meatballs, perfectly cooked spaghetti and red sauce to die for! (I'm Italian) came with garlic toast and extra sauce. Meatballs were tender and flavorful 10/10! It also helped to have 1/2 off bottles of wine! Service, ambiance 10/10. This place is great! read more
