Chicken sandwich was tasty but very much a processed breaded piece of chicken which was not as appealing as former sandwich meat but ok. Lettuce mostly fell off so could have used additional mayo to make it stick. Chili is a fav of my husband but too greasy for me. Ring of grease on inside of the lid which is often seen. Went here last week and ordered a Dave's single meal with a frosty. Burger was far from cooked fresh, had a half cup of ketchup and mayo on it, and had obviously been under the heat lamp for six hours. The staff was so rude I opted not to even order. I arrived 19 minutes prior to stated closing time. I hesitated a second to respond to speaker greeting as I could not understand what the man was saying as it sounded garbled. A girl then came over the speaker and rudely told me they were closing. There was no one behind me so I did not understand the rush. I said it is 19 minutes to so I should have a moment to order. I am sitting here today giving this yelp review for three reasons........Number One: The bushes outside of the drive thru of the manteno wendy's are proposterous, the are far too grown out i nearly had my eye scratched out driving by as the twigs overlapped and poked through my open window pulling up to the register. I was so appauled when I came back to Wendy's to get the drink they forgot to give me. I pulled up to where you order and told them they forgot to give me my drink, and that I had my receipt to prove it. The young lady who originally helped me took my receipt, and closed the window. She showed it to another young girl who filled up my drink, opened up the window gave me the drink, and shut it in my face without giving me my receipt back or saying a word. Today was my last visit. Only one car in front of me, yet when I got to the order box, I was told to wait. After six minutes, I said I think they forgot us. Again I hear "just a minute". I had placed and paid for a mobile order, ir I would have driven away. Finally after a total of 9 minutes, they asked for my order. I said mobile order, so she said pull up. Don't bother ordering your nuggets "made fresh". The employees will have you pull up and wait just to give you old nuggets. This happens too often at this location. I've lived in Manteno six years and this is the worst fast food location in town. If someone orders their food fresh, they would prefer to wait for what they asked for and not get tricked. Horrible service. Waited 5 minutes to order. 12 more minutes and no food. Meanwhile others who came in after me were getting their food. When I told the staff person I had been waiting 12 minutes for my food she actually yelled at me!! Waited another 3 minutes before food was ready... No apology for the wait. I never thought I would be writing a review for a fast food restaurant. However, I had to for the Manteno Wendy's. Never in my 28 years have I seen a Wendy's run so efficiently and have amazing customer service. The lady who took our order was super friendly and even brought our food to the table. They were delegating and working as a team. I even heard a worker say "great job guys" when they completed a big order. They also had signs posted up saying Team Manteno. Seriously best service I've had in a fast food joint. The employees were very honest about the food, such as throwing out the apple slices because they were expired, or dropping the fries, so they were working on a new batch. I really appreciate that kind of honesty and don't mind waiting! Everything looked clean, nothing was missing from our order, and the meals we got even looked like the photos! Curtis is AWESOME. Our truck had stopped so we came into the store to inquire about where we could get the car fixed. Curtis was just leaving a meeting to go home, but he gave us a jump and followed us to the auto shop but the truck stopped after a few blocks, so he actually took me to the auto part store to get a battery, brought me back to my vehicle and followed us to the mechanic to be sure that we made it safely. I like the fact that Wendys has real live adults working here. The chili is really very good of four star quality. Beef here is dryer that ither burgers but in a good way. Then after 10 minutes waiting , we were told they where making bacon.. then we get the wrong meal after another 15 minutes of waiting.
