We decided to try a new pizza place instead of our usuals. After checking out the menu we were intrigued by what I call the speciality pizzas. For example, I have ordered the Chicken Ricotta and Taco pizza and both were delicious. My son ordered the Chix Bacon Ranch and loves it, so he refuses to try anything else. I LOVE that the vegetables, especially mushrooms, are fresh! Canned mushrooms are completely different than fresh and I feel they should be an option but not the ONLY one. I especially like the online menu and how to select what we wanted. I have never seen options on how the crust should be cooked for example well done, or if ingredients should be light or extra. These customizations are really appreciated! The appetizer choices are more than the typical fried vegetables or mozzarella sticks. The Rueben Egg Roll appetizer is an example and could also be considered a meal. I tried them to see if the corned beef was good. Since it was, I will be ordering the Ruben pizza next and then the Big Mac Daddy. I look forward to trying the pastas and sandwiches next. In addition there are dessert choices if we want something sweet. Each time we ordered, our pizza was delivered quicker than we were told which is always nice. pizza is good, they can't seem to follow directions or give you what you ask for. I have had several time I didn't get what I asked for. I do ask nicely for the same thing every week and they fail almost every time. I'm done looking for a new Friday pizza place. read more

We just ordered for our first time tonight and it was awful. Pizza was cold and absolutely no flavor. The delivery guy was very nice but you can take the pizza and throw it away. It was so over cooked and hardly any sauce on it. Not cheesy one bit and the sausage had no flavor. We will never eat that again. I don't understand why they are still in business. I was told this was one of the "better" establishments under the name Sammy's Pizza. And it's location with a patio overlooking a park downtown is great. Alas, that's all there is to offer. The service is poor. The prices are high. And the food is simply terrible. Over salted appetizers. Bland entrees. Burnt pizza so bad that a frozen DiGiorno's would have been a masterpiece by comparison. We paid and bill, shook our heads, and vowed to never return to any Sammy's, which is somehow rated the best pizza in the area. I wanted to love this place because of the location. I just got home from hosting a birthday buffet for my husband's birthday with all my neighbors. The general manager and the bar manager at the Sammy's Pizza couldn't have done anymore. The tables and the buffet was set up by 4:15 pm and they opened at 4:00. My neighbors and my husband and me can't stop raving about the buffet food: pizza, italian beef sandwiches, antipasto salad and chicken fettuccini. The service at the tables and the bar was amazing! The best thing was the competitive price for all the food. I am certain my neighbors and I will be having many future parties at Sammy's Pizza in Manteno without having to shop, prepare, cook, serve or clean up. read more

Gave this place a second try, after the first time and the chicken Parmesan we ordered was lukewarm and greasy. This time we got the combo dinner of ravioli and spaghetti and meatballs. So it was an hour wait to pick up the food, got there and was told it wasn't ready yet, come back in 15 min. Came back in 20 min, still had to wait. The noodles were over cooked, dry, hardly any sauce on rithrbdinner, garlic bread was squished on top of the noodles. All of it was lukewarm AGAIN. And the rude person at the "hostess" area told me to get out, that customers aren't allowed to be inside the restaurant. Sorry dude, they have outside seating all over, and several tables which were actually inside but wall was "open", and I was standing 6-12 inches inside the door. We will not be back, we will spend our $$$ elsewhere, oh and we know ALOT of people and will let them all know how you disrespect customers, and the food is really not good at all. read more

3 orders out of 3 were wrong at the pick up window this evening. The lady in front of me had one thing in her bag and they forgot her soup. Not a complicated order. to mess up 50 percent of it. My order was fish and a burger. Before I left I opened the containers as the last time I was there they forgot the tater sauce. Sure enough, no tarter or cocktail sauce. I thought I was safe as the other container was a burger. Not the burger I ordered though. I ordered a Cowboy burger and crinkle fries and got a bacon cheeseburger and seasoned fries. That probably means that the only other person at that window probably got the Cowboy burger. This is every time I go in. Good food but It is definitely a mystery what you will go home with. read more

All around great place to eat. Have visited numerous times and ordered chicken sandwhiches, burgers, pizza etc. and I have always enjoyed them. I suggest ordering the Tough Guy pizza, its a little bit pricey but its by far the best pizza you can get around here. read more

I was hoping for a positive experience with great food and customer service. Nah. I tried calling to order a pizza a few weeks ago. I figured give them a try. Order a pizza and sandwich. But phone just rang and rang...,,,,,,,,,,, Nothing. Trying after a few Hours even . So I moved on. Now I called in an order of a fairly large amount of food. Xl pizza w all toppings, couple sandwiches and g bread. So I call, again just rang. I wanted to move on and give Monicals my money. But I made the mistake of calling again. Yep, they picked up. So great right? Not really. Whoever they hired for taking orders was no better taking my order than my dog would of done. Bad grammar yes but I continue. Ok they say 30 mins. I get there at 35 mins. I walk in small area by door. No one is there. But People laughing and goofing off in kitchen I can hear. I stand and wait 5 mins. Then a guy and girl come out from kitchen finally. And just walk right by me. I'm like seriously. Then as I was about to go after them. The delivery guy pops in. Says nothing. Again I'm standing w no service yet. Now the other 2 come up by counter. Start bs'ing and the girl looks over and says " ooops didn't see you there". At this point I'm in waiting 10 mins w no help . Now for the food. I had to wait 10 more mins because it wasn't done. Finally I left after 15 mins standing like a idiot. Got food home. Took a few bites. Sighed. Then gave my dog a bite. He spit it out. Sums it up. Really rough experience. Normally good little place to come have a drink and some food. But the place has really went downhill. Food was terrible!!! We ordered nachos and received a plate of chips some beef and about a tablespoon of queso on top. We requested a side of queso from our waitresses who was just embarrassed that we had to ask after she had told the cook that they nachos were not acceptable. He told her just take it out. When she came back she looked about ready to cry... we found out why...The cook had sent her out with a cup of cold queso sauce which tasted straight from the can. It is unfortunate, we decided to just ask for the check and not keep going with the miserable experience. Our advice? Skip this place and find somewhere else that will actually put decent food out for the prices they charge. Not worth your time..much better places to go! read more

First experience was pretty good so we gave it another shot. Ordered online on Memorial Day for a nice dinner - we thought. Seems as if they were closed but "had a glitch" in the system and took online orders for delivery. After 90 minutes I called looking for our food only to be informed they are not open and would refund my credit card. Poor service, poor answer and if they are closed, why did someone answer the phone? Never again. I will order from Tony's in Peotone going forward. read more
