We HIGHLY recommend POW! BUG SQUAD if you are considering tenting your house for termites and having wood repair done on the outside. They do it all! We had previously been told that our shiplap boards could not be easily replaced, but it was no problem for Rob Sickmeier and his crew. After getting several estimates, we chose POW because of Rob's punctual, informative, and thorough proposal. Throughout the process, Rob was friendly and encouraging, walking us through every step of the way from the replacement of wood, to the prep for tenting our house, and finally by putting us in touch with Danny Gomez and his painting crew. (See my separate YELP review...great job!) The work crew was polite, respectful of our time & property, and cleaned up daily, never leaving a trace of debris. In addition, Rob checked in with us daily, and he continued to do so with the painting crew, even after POW was finished, to be certain that there was no wood still needing replacement. As a matter of fact, during the painting prep two additional boards were discovered that needed replacing and Rob made sure it was done the next day. Beware of this company! Rob came out, did an inspection and said we needed to tent our home to rid the termites. He said we would be covered for 3 years. Less than one year later, we saw termite wings in the same window as before. Andy came out and without seeing a termite or termite wing, he stated we had a "different termite" and it is not covered. He said we would need to pay an additional 1,299.00!! Rob seemed like an honest man and that is why we went with the company. We now feel we were duped!! read more

Ants are our biggest problem. Our best buddies are there, multiplying and getting food at the slightest hint of sugar or food. Then we had some renovations done and the ant problem got even bigger. I found this company by searching for nearby pest control. So glad I did because they were able to come and give me an estimate on the work that I needed. I absolutely can't say enough positive things about Pow Bug Squad! I worked with Nicole from the office and she is amazing. We had Marc come out to help us with catching a couple of rats that had found their way into our kitchen, and Marc was knowledgeable, professional, funny and patient. He set glue and snap traps around the kitchen and a couple of bait boxes outside, which worked like a charm. He also walked the perimeter of the house with us and gave us suggestions of what we can do to prevent this from happening again. We felt we were in wonderful hands and he reassured us with their help we would get it resolved. This is the absolute worst bug control company I have ever experienced. After them coming three times I still have not gotten rid of my simple ants and spiders. They've eaten me alive and now I've asked for my money back but of course they won't return my calls. Supposedly the manager/owner was going to come check my home but obviously it didn't happen. I had some major work done with Pow Bug Squad and was very disappointed in their performance. The owners of the company we courteous initially, but the people they hired were terrible. When the removed a large piece of wood to replace it, they cut through an electrical and sprinkler line and never notified anyone. They replaced the wood painted it and moved on. After I paid them $18K, I had the house appraised and was told there was no power to the living room and the sprinkler timers didn't work. Since I was renting the home I had to hire an electrician and gardner to fix the problems, thats when I was told about the problem. I payed the $1,000 to fix the problems and notified Bug Squad and the never responded to my e-mails. I will never use or recommend them again, very terrible customer service. KP read more

Highly recommend this company! We got quotes from 5 companies and this is the one I picked!!!! They do what they say they will do and on time! Great customer service, amazing wood repair crew and timely! We had our house fumigated (tented) recently and we had damage to exterior wood (mostly around windows and bottom of roof). We opted to have their crew repair and replace the wood since it was easier and more efficient. I'm so happy I did! Those guys were amazing. They were experts that worked quickly and efficiently. They got all the old wood down, replaced it on the spot and had the right tools and machines to cut wood, out new pieces up and painted them. I watched a bit in amazement because I thought I had a great handyman until I saw these guys. I highly recommend having this company make the repairs! It's totally worth it. We left town and came back when tent was down. Clean and bug free. We waited 14 years between tenting and now I think I will do 10-12 years instead because I didn't realize how much damage they did (you could see it once they chipped away at wood). Also, I had a million questions and kept emailing Cindy and she always got back to me. Great customer service! The owner went to Stanford University, too! I bought the amazon deal and called them to schedule the pest control with Jennifer (their customer service). Everything was set-up, they got my full address and info. I took a day off from work and was advised to clear out everything from the kitchen cabinets. On the day of appointment, I cleared out everything before 3pm because the appointment was 3pm-5pm. I've been talking to Jennifer 3 times that day what time should I expect them to arrive. At about 5:45pm, I called the office to confirm the schedule because they 1.45 hours late. I spoke to their manager, Theresa and advised me that they dont accept job at my place and gave me a lot excuses and apologies after all the damages that has been done. And she offered me that ithey can still do the job but cannot accept the voucher from amazon and it will cost me 3 times of the value of the amazon deal. I told her that I dont want to deal with their company ever again. Please give yourself a treat, dont ever deal with this company...very horrible experience!!! read more

Here's my experience today with this company. My neighbors sold their house. they came over with a piece of paper for us to sign in the second week of June stating that they would need access to my yard to tent their house on June 29th. We signed the paper but told the neighbors to have them call us prior to the work starting so we could verify insurance and make arrangements for the dogs. No phone calls, no workers showed up on the 29th, either. We made sure someone was here the whole day to lock up the dogs. We thought maybe their house fell out of escrow. Instead they showed up at 1:00pm today, July 17th. One of their workers comes and rings the doorbell over and over again, then tells me they're going to fumigate and need access to the backyard. I showed him that the paper was signed to allow access on the 29th of June and we never received a phone call. I also said I needed to verify their insurance. The worker said he would have his supervisor call me because "he's just a worker". First the realtor called to ask why I wouldn't allow them entry. I told her that I was fine allowing them to show up out of the blue and inconvenience me (I wanted to help my neighbors), all I needed was proof that they were insured. She didn't seem surprised and said they would have it emailed over to me. The next call I got was from Pow, and some lady, who was ok at first, started explaining how they had to tent the house today or it would fall out of escrow. She also said she would like me to resign a different form allowing them access because someone didn't do their job correctly. I reiterated that I had no problem being completely inconvenienced by them, I simply said I needed proof of their insurance and once I had that, I'd be happy to sign a new form to help out my neighbors. At this point, the lady on the phone started getting hostile. She told me that they couldn't get proof of insurance within 24 hours because they would have to call their agent and if they can't tent the house in 20minutes, they would call it quits and my neighbors' deal would fall through, trying to make it seem like any of this is my fault. I then asked for the policy number and name of insurance so I could verify it. She flat out denied that. I explained to her that no one comes on to my property without proof of insurance, and she was smart enough to ask me,"Why, do they have to climb high on the ladders." I responded by saying that I don't care if they're going to use four foot ladders, I need to see proof of insurance. She then insisted that on the new form they were going to send to me to sign that I write I'm not liable for any injuries to their workers, etc. With helping my neighbors being the priority, I said I was willing to do so, but asked who would be qualified to sign the document on their end and return it to me before the work started. At this point she was just rude. She started telling me how I don't need their signature, and everything would be fine, and "no one there was gonna sign anything". When I tried to ask her how anyone would know they accepted those terms, she cut me off and told me,"If you could stop talking for 2 seconds..." At this point it was ridiculous and I told her to find another way to tent the house. Goodbye. I also told my neighbors' realtor that she needs to find a more professional company to work with in the future. She told me everything worked out, because they didn't tell my neighbors they were coming either and would have killed all his plants by tenting the house, and they could just locally treat the house and everything would work fine, and escrow could close. So why exactly did they need to tent the house? Maybe anyone that plans to use this company should ask them to verify their insurance before hand (something's fishy), and get a second opinion on whether the job they recommend is actually needed, or if their just padding their pockets by saying people have to tent when they don't. Pow may want to reevaluate who is answering the phones and understand that in the land of lawyers, not everyone is as ignorant as the lady that called me, especially since all they did was lose money because of her attitude. Cut your losses and get rid of her. She's definitely not doing you any favors, Andy. read more

I sold my house and had it tented for termites in the middle of 2015. My realtor said they would be paid from escrow. POW wanted to be paid now. That was fine and I paid them. Then they were paid a second time ($1900.00) from escrow on July 24th. When I called Nicole on 8-3-15 she said they didn't get an escrow check and she would call me when they received it. No call. On 8-10-15 I called escrow and POW had cashed their check on 7-31-15. I called Nicole again. I finally received some of my money back but after 3 more calls to Nicole I am still waiting for the balance of $125. It is now 9-24-15. She won't return my calls. Beyond poor service........they won't return the balance of my money and I am tired of calling as it does no good......Nicole doesn't care. read more

This company is very unprofessional. The first appointment my family made to have our house tented for tear it's, they didn't show up. They didn't call to tell us they wouldn't be there. They were supposed to call the Gas Company to schedule the gas shut off and they didn't do that either. I called back to reschedule. After they finally tented our house, we found live termites and ants crawling all over the outside of our house. I called them and told them and they said it was normal and the ants will eat the termites. They said that the termites eggs should be dead and we won't have any more problems. Then we still had termites flying around inside our house a couple weeks later. They were not DEAD! Then I called them to tell them we still had termites and they scheduled to come back out and check the house and they didn't show up on time again!! And called an hour after they were supposed to be there and told me they were running late after I was already back at work where I had taken time off in the morning and couldn't leave to meet them. They told me that the bugs in my house aren't termites. But they ARE termites. They are the exact same bugs as the ones before they tented. They still have not sent me the paperwork for everything. Every time I ask for the documents and invoices they say they will send them and never do! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I spent over $1,000 for them to not fix my problem. And I have been waiting them to help me fix my problem. But already 3 months , still not response. read more

My experience with POW was horrible. They were called back upon the sale of the home and did not do an adequate inspection of the home but copied another termite report and got it wrong. I was then told by Andy that he would cover the subterranean termites since one year previous POW did the work. He then ended up charging me for work he said he would comp. The repair work was not done properly or adequately as he never showed up with his crew to point out the damage that needed to be repaired and to this day I have pictures of inadequate patched eaves ( I did myself). that he insisted should be repaired. It was also a very difficult process getting them to finalize the report and sign off completion for the sale. In the end he overcharged me for the sub terranean work that he said he would not charge me for since he had done the work one year previous. Andy also left me a nasty message on my phone stating I was asking for too many discounts. Do not do business with this company. Very unprofessional, late, unreliable, always an excuse of vacation or injury. read more
