They removed all tiles, replaced damaged wood, installed new underlayment, then reinstalled the tiles. He has a great crew, who did the job quickly and did nice, neat work. I have solar panels, so Jay recommended a solar company that removed and reinstalled the panels. When the project was complete, I pointed out a couple of things - and he voluntarily went above and beyond to fix it all right away. Pacific Crest (PCR) did a great job on our home! It started with us getting 5 or 6 quotes. PCR wasn't the cheapest, they were in the middle BUT they seemed the most competent. I'm happy I went with Jay and PCR. They were upfront with the timeframe and when theyd start, upfront with how long each step would take. We took a while to lock in a color and shingle but they weren't rushy and pointed us to other homes they had done as well as where they buy the shingles (so we could go see them all side by side). Pacific Crest Roofing did an excellent job replacing my entire clay tile roof (40 yrs old) with new clay tiles. I really liked Jay, the owner, who was very clear in explaining the quality of the materials they used, what was included in the estimate, and what I could expect in the process. I already did a lot of research online, and what he said was consistent with what I learned. I was happy that included an engineer report, so I would know my roof structure was good before they started. My friends who had their roofs recently done by a large roofing company said no one went into their attics to check for any structural problems. Regarding the actual job, Anival and his crew did a great job removing all the old tiles and preparing the roof to be tiled. They replaced any wood that had wood rot, termite damage, weather damage, etc, and painted new trim pieces (I provided the paint). They did a perfect job laying the double layer underlayment and clay tiles. And they cleaned up the area everyday. Here are some of the reasons why I would highly recommend them to my friends and neighbors: * Not only did they do a great job, they were also extremely professional and a pleasure to work with. * They did everything by the book, including pulling permits and arranging for city inspections. * I spoke to four roofing companies. They took off all tiles, replaced termite eaten and rotten plywood, replaced worn underlayment, and waited for termite tenting before replacing all the tiles. They were not the lowest estimate among five I had gotten, but not the highest either. But my decision to go with them was based on the expertise I experienced when the roof was looked at before the estimate was given and the reviews I read on Yelp. I was not disappointed. They did the work in a timely, efficient, and very professional fashion. There was one glitch that was discovered later, but Jay made good on that with no fuss or argument. Just had a tile reset done on our new home. It was a big job, and for us, a bit scary, as you never know what to expect in terms of potential damage and other unexpected issues along the way. We had solar panels installed recently, and the company didn't do a good job of talking to us about the condition of the roof, and the need to replace the 30ish year underlayment. Pacific Crest also works with a solar company that removed and reinstalled our panels for us, ensuring that the roof work was done on schedule and quickly. That was a big plus for us. Afterwards, there was some stucco that got dinged up, and the team came back right away to patch everything up, and they even patched up some extra spots not related to their work. First of all, my call to make an appointment with Pacific Crest Roofing went straight to voicemail. I left a message regarding the need of a roof repair. My call was returned two days later and an appointment was set up for them to assess the repair. They were actually punctual and very nice. The project manager (Helio) said he would email me an estimate. A week later I hadn't received an estimate, so I emailed Helio inquiring when I could expect an estimate. We learned the hard way that our relatively new roof upon buying our home was not done correctly. Specifically a drip edge was not installed. This meant the water had nowhere to go during our last few rainy seasons. Consequently the water sat on the felt and plywood eventually causing dry rot in the plywood and underlying shiplap. I noticed the dry rot and fungus and started contacting roofing companies. The first contractor came out super fast and told us what was wrong and what needed to be done. I was told I'd have a quote by the end of the day. I didn't get the quote until a week and a half later. Upon receiving the quote I requested a date for service. I never heard back from the contractor again. Then I contacted Jay at Pacific Crest Roofing. The communication was great. He was patient with my questions. Purchased a house a month ago. During inspection, the inspector noted the chimney flashing on the roof should be checked. Seemed like a recommendation, more than a warning. Well during the last rainstorm, I noticed water coming down the drywall INSIDE my master bedroom, next to the chimney. I was just looking for a quote on getting the flashing replaced. He had done the whole roof for the previous homeowner and the damage to the flashing was not related to the roof work he had done. He had ZERO obligation to perform the repairs I needed, yet he had his roofers out the next business day and they had the flashing repaired in less than an hour.
