This review is late coming, but I recently noticed that the company now has a Yelp profile so need to give credit where credit is due. I initially got a hold of Pacific Blue Roofing through a bid to repair a leak on our roof from the heavy rains in Socal during 2022-23. Our roof repair saga began when our home insurance adjuster came out to survey the damage from the leak (inside and outside), they claimed that it was under my deductible amount and that we would need to handle the repair on our own. We sought to find a company that was reputable, responsive, and fair on pricing. Imagine our dismay when the first few company's that came out sent to us pricing that was 4-5 times our deductible amount. Maybe it was a holdover from COVID pricing, but it was outlandish to say the least. This is where we found Pacific Blue to be different and eventually earned out trust to repair our home. Grayson was friendly and responsive. Furthermore, he arrived a bit early from our appointment time. From the beginning, he explained the repair process to us and even educated us on the different types of quoting that most companies give. In the end, we began our repair right after July 4th, 2023. The guys from Pacific Blue were careful when they removed the S tiles from our roof, methodically carrying them out to the trucks in the front of our house. They cleaned off the 30+ years of dust and debris and then laid down a new underlayment as promised. The whole process went as well as we could have hoped and the final result you can see in our pics. In the end, we really wanted to thank Grayson and his whole team for the awesome job they did for us. We are nearing the point where the rest of the roof will need to be redone, and there's no question that we will be contacting Pacific Blue again to do that job for us as well.

Arbitration awards

this company only have the owner Darren Harper as sales, his brother in law is the only employee as foreman/ supervisor, then once Darren got the order, he sub the contract to real roofing workers , but when he find out the margin is not enough for his greediness, then he starts to cut the quality, cheat on the material, giving fake City Permit ( no one in the Ciry office ever saw my permit, I checked with them several times ) and even fake Warranty, ( material manufacturer even told me they never bought enough material for my job size) ( I still have all the evidences) so, No one should hire this company, no matter gevus such a sweet talker!but every one should know I have been thru almost 3 years of hasslea. and still fighting to get me full amount of money back he even threat me!‍‍ even I won the arbitration from CSLB, but there's still left over balance of $25k, I am fighting still

I had called a bunch of roofing companies but most were just interested in roof replacement and not repair. SO glad we got the referral to South County Roofing! We had an old water stain we recently found on a closet ceiling as well as an old water stain on our kitchen ceiling that we wanted to get checked for a roof leak. Jesse came out to take a look for us - he was kind, honest, professional and knowledgeable! He reassured us that the old water stain from the closet was not likely to be from a roof leak and suggested potential causes for the stain on the kitchen ceiling (stucco or chimney)- all part of the free estimate. He took pictures and told us to call him if we noticed any new water stains so he could better pinpoint the problem and he would come take care of us. Solid company! Planning the project with David proceeded smoothly -he clearly specified the work necessary. I was highly impressed that when I asked about additional work, that David indicated my request was beyond the scope of the work his company specializes in. A pleasant surprise in a world where companies promise anything irrespective of their ability to deliver! For me, it was evidence of David's honesty and integrity. Our project proceeded within the timeframe that was promised. David's crew were polite and worked in a manner that would be least disruptive to those in house. After completing the job, the crew power washed the walkway and the driveway before they departed -on their own accord. Photos of the restored roof were sent to me and the work looks FANTASTIC! RoofTek & Waterproofing Systems was recommended to me by my next-door neighbor who had them do his roof. My neighbor told me that about a year after his roof was done, he thought there might be a new leak and RoofTek was at his house within hours. After their inspection, RoofTek identified the problem and corrected it -NO COST as part of the 5-year warranty their product comes with. My experience with RoofTek & Waterproofing Systems was first rate! David and his crew make the process as painless as it gets. BTW, the cost of the work were reasonable and there were no 'hidden' adjustments to the original agreed upon estimate -what more could I ask for!

After reaching out to Top Quality Roofing, Shane came out to assess the damage. He was thorough, identifying over 80 broken tiles--far more than I had noticed--along with several hairline cracks. He also recommended replacing a damaged skylight, which was a great catch. What really stood out was his expertise and honesty. He has direct connections with roof tile distributors, which allowed for a fair price, and he was able to preserve most of my original roof tiles, replacing only the ones that were broken rather than pushing for a full roof replacement. The work was completed efficiently in just a day and a half. I truly appreciate that this is a family-owned business. Shane's father, James, has been roofing in South Orange County since the late 80s, and it's clear they take pride in their work. They are well-known in our community for their integrity and quality. I was initially skeptical since others stated 5+ days, but I could see how organized and efficient the team was. Since roofing is expensive and stressful, I made sure to get four other competitive quotes from other roofers. The price from ASR came out the best with the same specs, but I would still have went with ASR even if they were more expensive, just because of the trust I had in Bryan. Throughout, I got to meet Bryan's father, Frank who has 30 years of roofing experience and was accommodating to my needs such as when I requested protection of my garden during tear-off. I also met Bryans brother Steven during the shingle installation, which reinforced the sense that this was a family business that genuinely cares about the quality of their work. Finally, after the installation was finished, the team still cared very much about passing inspection for permitting and to ensure their reputation is upheld. Even after payment was completed, they continued providing follow-up support when needed, which gave me additional assurances in their commitment to quality. I waited until the project was fully completed before writing this review because I wanted to give…read morePremium Roofing every opportunity to address the issues we experienced. Unfortunately, while the roof itself ultimately got completed and the problems were eventually addressed, the experience getting there was extremely frustrating. This was not a cheap roofing project, and I expected much better communication, care for my property, and accountability. During the project, several things happened that I believe future customers should be aware of: * A bench on my property was damaged. * My security cameras were damaged. * After the tear-off, broken pieces of old roofing/wood were left throughout my attic. * Nails and debris were left around the property, which was especially concerning because I have two young daughters. * Most importantly, the existing roof-to-patio transition was disturbed during the reroof and afterward we had leaks in areas that did not leak before the project. The patio transition was the most frustrating part. I understand that my existing patio roof was old and was not part of their reroofing scope. My issue was not that I expected them to replace my patio. My issue was that the existing transition between the house roof and patio had been keeping water out before the project. During the reroof, the existing material at that transition was removed/disturbed so the new roof could be installed. I was not warned beforehand that doing so could leave the patio transition vulnerable, nor was I given the opportunity to decide how I wanted that transition handled before the work proceeded. When it subsequently leaked, I had to repeatedly argue that I wasn't asking them to replace my patio; I simply wanted the transition restored so it didn't leak after their work. Initially, I was told that the patio wasn't within their scope. Eventually they returned and applied membrane/mastic to the transition, but even then I was the one who had to climb up and water-test the roof with a hose to identify the remaining leak locations. They came back again to address those areas. What bothered me most wasn't that problems occurred. Construction projects can have problems. It was the lack of ownership when they did. None of these issues were proactively brought to my attention. I discovered them myself through inspections and then had to contact the company to get them addressed. At times, the site supervision seemed annoyed that I was asking them to correct damage or conditions that arose during the project. After the fourth issue, I finally escalated my concerns beyond the site supervisor by calling and emailing upper management. I had deliberately tried to resolve the first several problems directly with the people managing my project rather than immediately escalating them. Despite that, I never received a call from upper management to acknowledge what had happened, apologize, or ask how they could make the experience right. There were also smaller things that added to the frustration. For example, their large marketing banner remained on my property after the roofing work was finished. When I asked that it be removed, I was told it would stay because they still had to return regarding the leak. Considering everything that had already happened, that didn't sit well with me. To Premium Roofing's credit, they ultimately came back and addressed the issues I raised, and I want to be fair about that. My complaint isn't that they simply walked away. It's that getting these things corrected required far more inspecting, documenting, calling, following up and arguing on my part than I believe a homeowner should have to do after paying for a professional reroof. If you're considering them, my advice isn't necessarily "don't hire them." It's to protect yourself from the beginning: photograph your property before work starts, photograph your attic, cameras and anything around the house that could be damaged, clarify in writing how every existing roof transition will be handled, inspect the property carefully after each phase, and don't assume someone will point out damage or potential problems to you. I chose Premium in part because I was willing to pay for what I thought would be a higher level of service and accountability. The finished roof may ultimately perform well, the valleys and asphalt look good, and I have the GAF Golden Pledge warranty, but based on the project-management and customer-service experience I had, I can't give them a positive review.

They cleaned up every single day and even worked around a baby's sleep schedule on a couple instances. And best off, they did a great job. It all sounded great. We needed an entire roof of a Four-plex ripped and replaced. Communication was prompt and project moved along well. Before we sent final payment, we went over some remaining issues and things were fixed. Then things changed drastically. A major storm came and caused leaks. It took weeks for Scott to respond to the emergency request to have the issue patched up. A brand-new roof shouldn't be leaking. Another storm came by and again, it took days for him to reply back and take care of the issue once and for all. Any interior damage caused by these leaks were not covered under warranty, according to him, though that clause is unenforceable in the State of California for this situation. However, I had let it slide and decided to fix it myself later. Half a year later when one of the tenants moved out, I saw indentations across the ceiling as if sharp objects were pushed down from above. The tenant had never informed me, but she said that they appeared during the roof replacement. I also saw that the water heater exhaust pipe was loose and no longer attached to the roof frame. Same story for the HVAC exhaust pipe. It was clear that when the roof was replaced, the workers did not take great care to ensure the exhaust pipes were securely fastened back. I texted Scott. I called the number on the company's website. I sent a message through the website. I emailed. It's been a week with no response. [UPDATE: He finally responded after I submitted this review on Yelp and cited that interior damage is not covered under warranty. I informed him that this was untrue and am asking him to take responsibility for the damage caused. I rather not file a complaint with the Contractors State License Board, but will if he keeps hiding behind that unenforceable warranty clause. If necessary, I will have another roofer provide a second opinion, fix the issues, and have the State go after him for reimbursement.]
