Got a referral to South County Roofing from another roofing company because their tile guy got injured. I had called a bunch of roofing companies but most were just interested in roof replacement and not repair. SO glad we got the referral to South County Roofing! We had an old water stain we recently found on a closet ceiling as well as an old water stain on our kitchen ceiling that we wanted to get checked for a roof leak. Jesse came out to take a look for us - he was kind, honest, professional and knowledgeable! He reassured us that the old water stain from the closet was not likely to be from a roof leak and suggested potential causes for the stain on the kitchen ceiling (stucco or chimney)- all part of the free estimate. He took pictures and told us to call him if we noticed any new water stains so he could better pinpoint the problem and he would come take care of us. Solid company! I would not hesitate to contact them again. read more

Got a referral to South County Roofing after my neighbor had a great experience, and I can see why. Called them about some storm damage near a vent pipe and they came out the next morning for an inspection. The crew was punctual, courteous, and spent time explaining the issue before starting any work. Repair was done same day and looked seamless. They also noted a small area of concern near the gutters and addressed it at no extra charge. Very solid company -- good communication from start to finish and reasonably priced. read more

He is also very friendly to deal with, and you simply know that you can count on him and his work. Thanks to him and his tile work our roof is in excellent shape after 20+ years. I cannot say enough good things about him. read more

Wow - what a great experience! Brian provided such amazing skill and service in repairing the leak in my roof. He worked with leftover panels to create a patch, then went back to further refine and improve the patch so it blended cosmetically with existing panels and was aesthetically pleasing from a curb appeal viewpoint. South County Roofing only does repairs - they do not install new roofs, so they are never trying to upsell you. It is such a refreshing and honest business model, and I have already referred three people to them. Thank you so much, Brian - very grateful for your honesty and expertise! read more

We contracted with South County Roofing to replace numerous broken roof tiles following a termite fumigation, and the experience was great from start to finish. William conducted a meticulous initial inspection, documenting every damaged tile with clear photos, and later performed all of the repairs himself--a significant advantage given his firsthand familiarity with the problem areas. Throughout the process, William proved to be diligent, detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, and truly pleasant to work with. His professionalism and care were evident in every step of the project. Based on our recent experience, I would not hesitate to hire South County Roofing again for any future roofing needs and highly recommend them to others seeking roof repairs. read more

I hired Brian at South County Roofing for an independent inspection on a property I was considering. He was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable down to the make and manufacturer of a 2007 clay roof tile. He didn't upsell and clearly pointed out what needed to be repaired and what could be delayed. Thank you Brian! read more

Brian and team provided quick turnaround time for a leak repair and felt like honest people to work with. They didn't try to upcharge to a full reroofing job. read more

Jesse/South Country roofing are GREAT! We have used their services twice and Jesse has done a fantastic job. We had a leak and he came out, literally, right before the recent HUGE rainfall we had and his work help up beautifully. Not a drop in the house. And he's a great guy, on top of it. And honest. Don't look further. Great company, great guy and he does great work! read more

William and his team from South County Roofing did a fantastic job repairing a leak above my garage doors. The estimate explained the repairs to be done, as well as all costs, in an easy to understand format. When it was noted that more work would have to be done to take care of the problem, everything was explained and pictures were provided for backup. The team cleaned up after the work was completed. Tile repair and replacement was done to be sure that the roof's color pattern was as close to original as possible. Highly recommended! read more

I had William from South County Roofing do additional repairs and a roof tune-up. They inspected the roof and recommended repairs that were done promptly and apparently effective. William is a hard worker and was pleasant and professional. read more

We recently experienced some really high winds that ripped off a tile from the top of our roof and broke some more tiles on the way down. We urgently needed roof repairs as the weather report predicted rain the following day. Luckily, South County Roofing and Kaitlyn came through for us and was able to schedule us in on such short notice. Brian and William were very friendly, professional, and quick with the repairs! They replaced all the broken tiles and even helped us patch the part of the roof mortar to make it look nice. They finished the job before other companies even replied to my Yelp requests. We're really pleased with the work and will happily recommend them to our friends and neighbors. Thanks again! read more

William of South County Roofing came out and performed inspection and subsequent repair for our clay tile roof. Turns out, we had many cracked and/or broken tiles as well as crumbling mortar. Also, work that we had done previously by another company was not up to SCR's standards as evidenced by SCR's before/after photos. William completed all of the repairs to his standards and did fantastic, professional work. We will call SCR back in 3-5 years for another inspection because we like to keep on top of our roof's condition. Thank you, William & SCR!!! read more

BEWARE!!! TERRIBLE communication and poor professionalism! I contacted this company at the beginning of October because we have broken/slipped tiles, and Jesse Merritt was nice enough to inspect our roof with me not being home since I work a very busy schedule. I thought to myself, so far so good! The quote was immediately emailed to me the same day with a detailed list of the work he recommends and an explanation of why. After that, it was ALL downhill with customer service and communication. After multiple unanswered phone calls and an email, I was able to schedule an appointment for the repair. Nearing date of the repair, I didn't receive any confirmation email or phone call so I reached out to them for confirmation (when it should be the other way around). Then, on the MORNING OF, I called AND emailed, only to find out Jesse was sick and had to reschedule. I thought, ok, that's understandable. STILL, that's UNPROFESSIONAL. Through email, he rescheduled for 11/25 and stated they would begin at 9 am. Well guess what!? On 11/25 (black friday), Jesse calls me to let me know he cant work on my roof because his supplier is closed!!! So he reschedules AGAIN for 11/29! Irritated but being cool, I agree! Well guess what! He cancels AGAIN via EMAIL on the MORNING of 11/29 because of expected rain (which NEVER CAME btw) and that he had more important customers to tend to and won't have time for us until AFTER 12/25. Well, this is my notice that he shouldn't even dare try to. As understanding as I tried to be, being cancelled on THREE times due to illness, negligence, and mismanagement is UNPROFESSIONAL and TERRIBLE customer service. I'd be WEARY and very cautious of their thoroughness in working on your roofs. Since they didn't do the RIGHT thing with us, i DOUBT they'd do what is RIGHT for you! read more

South Country Roofing for the Win! Had a skylight leak and needed tiles replaced. SC has an incredible website and was thrilled to see an informative section on skylight leaks. William came out to estimate the repair and was also here to do the work. He is a treasure. Could not ask for a better experience. Straightforward and they care about the end result. South County Roofing will always be our first call should the need arise. Thanks and gratitude for getting our roof winter ready. read more

South County Roofing just completed the repair of a large roof valley leak. They have previously repaired a different valley and a chimney leak in previous years. The owner Brian has always been an excellent advisor and is very responsive to calls; William Clayton is a true master craftsman - he is very detailed and methodical in his repair process, as are any member of his crew. I have hired many contractors over the years and William has been the best. I highly recommend South County Roofing for any roof repair, and their prices are very reasonable. THANKS WILLIAM AND BRIAN!!! read more

Brian was back out today, less than a week after my first review. He did a great job of fixing the issues with the roof at a very reasonable price and likely saved me huge amounts of money down the road. I really appreciate his laser focus on my situation. Needed a leaking roof repaired in Aliso Viejo. A family member had worked with South County Roofing in years past and was happy with their work. I contacted them and they were great. Very professional and clearly outlined the work they would do in a written contract. The owner, Brian A., personally returned my call and was very focused on helping me. His lead Aliso Viejo job supervisor, William C, was great too. William and his crew did the job when promised in the way it was promised and cleaned-up very nicely. The job also was completed at the bid price! I would highly recommend South County Roofing for roof repairs! read more

Brian and his crew are top notch! I needed some circulation vents put in and some minor roof repairs and Brian was on time and did a fantastic job. We had a small roof leak that needed repair and luckily found the perfect company (on Yelp) to fix it for us! Jesse was professional, knowledgeable and friendly, he maintained regular contact with us as we had to move our date and sent any paperwork in a timely manner. Thank you Jesse and South County Roofing for providing such excellent service. read more

Can't recommend enough. I called after some major rain. Most wouldn't even return my call. The few that did couldn't come out for weeks. Kaitlyn got back to right away and was very responsive to all my questions. Brian came out the next day took pictures of the damaged area and my roof was on the schedule in just two weeks. The price was good and they did a great job. Cleaned up, matched all the tile, replaced any boards damaged from rain and made sure all the tiles were solid. Couldn't be happier with results. Repairing roofs is all they do. They won't try and sell you a new roof. You will see all the areas that need to be repaired so you know what needs to be done. read more

South County Roofing just completed some long deferred maintenance on our tiled roof. They replaced broken tiles, fixed slipped tiles, gutter cleaning, resealed the vents and reset the ridge tiles. From the estimate to completing the job, Jesse was a pleasure to work with. Communication was great and his knowledge was extensive. We look forward to using them again for our maintenance plan in the future. They were the best priced option for the work being performed against competitors in the area. I felt that I was getting the most honest feedback and was not pressured with upselling things the roof didn't need. read more

I needed a roof inspection due to two small leaks in our roof. I was referred to South County Roofing from a neighbor who was very satisfied with work they had done to their roof. I got a prompt reply and inspection date and time scheduled. Jesse showed up on time, did a very thorough inspection which included photos of the areas and a fair quote. Repairs were done and included before, during and completed photos of the job. I could not have asked for more and highly recommend South Coast Roofing. read more

We live on a local golf course and wanted to repair two roof leaks at the back of our house before the rainy season. Additionally, we required some concrete roof tiles to be replaced and debris cleared from the valley sections of our roof. I contacted two highly rated local roofing companies for an inspection report and repair estimates with pictures. Both companies provided similar inspection summaries, but South Coast Roofing's estimate was slightly less expensive. However, this was not the deciding factor in choosing them. The other company's inspection was postponed several times, and when the report and estimate were finally provided, they were prepared by a different person than the original inspector. My questions about the report went unanswered. William C. from South County Roofing arrived on time and conducted a thorough inspection. He promptly prepared the repair estimate and contract, answering all my questions clearly. Based on our interaction, we scheduled the roof repairs. William and his crew from South County Roofing came on time and completed the repairs over several days as scheduled, despite the fires and extreme heat during that period. They cleaned up nicely each day, and William explained what had been accomplished. Based on my recent experience, I highly recommend South County Roofing for your roofing repair needs. Communication was excellent, and the company clearly outlined the work in a written contract with easy-to-understand pictures. Thank you to William C. and his crew! read more

Brian (the owner) did an excellent job during a re-seal of all the plumbing, fireplace, and HVAC flashings on our roof. In addition, he was able to complete a repaint of the flashings to bring a newer look to the roof. Brian noted some areas where the roofing was loose and fixed accordingly. All the work was done professionally. If you need to have either minor or major repair work done to your roof, I recommend South County Roofing. Thanks to Brian and the team! read more

We've been using SCR for years. We have a tile roof that needs occasional maintenance. They do good work so they are busy, but once you're on their calendar you can trust your roof is in good hands. read more

South County Roofing did an amazing job for me. Due to wind a tree broke a few tiles on the side of my house. This was not a big job but Brian responded anyway. Most of the roofing companies I contacted would not even respond to my calls. Too small of a job, I guess. Brian fixed the broken tiles, inspected the whole roof and pruned away the tree limbs that caused the problem. During the inspection he discovered a few loose tiles which he fixed at no extra cost. The roof looks great and refreshed. I truly appreciated his professionalism. I would highly recommend South County Roofing. Mindy A. read more

We have engaged South County Roofing several times now to replace broken tiles and general repair for the roof and most recently to repair a roof leak. Not my first time using South County. I always find Brian and Jesse to be thorough and fair in recommending and pricing their work. I would trust them with a job big or small. This time had a flashing leak after wind driven rain this winter and they were able to diagnose and fix. read more

Jesse came out for a roof inspection and estimate, and then we scheduled the work. He arrived as promised and quickly got to work, pulling tiles to find the root of the problem, which involved water flow behind the chimney. Jesse replaced all the underlayment, along with a couple of cracked tiles, all in just over one day, and did so for the price quoted. It rained the following weekend, and it certainly appears that the roof leak is fixed. I thought that the price was more than reasonable for the quality of work and effort involved. I would use South County Roofing again (but hoping I don't have to!). read more

Our friend recommended us to this company. I can't rate them appropriately for any service done, but just for responsiveness. I left them both a voice message and filled out the online form and got no response from them. Disappointing since I did let them know that we have a leak and right now we have all of the storms. We used someone else who was very responsive and came out to fix it. read more

Jesse and his team are the right guys for the job with anything regarding roof repair! We had broken tiles and a potential leak near our skylight - I reached out through Yelp and Jesse got back to us quickly and scheduled a visit. I don't know about you, but my heart skips a beat thinking about being on our roof, but Jesse is an expert! He examined everything thoroughly and mentioned a few other things that he noticed was lacking or in need of repair, also counted out how many tiles were broken. We had a serious problem near the skylight that he confirmed and had to remove that heavy, glass skylight to repair it. On the day of the job, they laid out tarping and asked me to close the windows as debris can fall all around the house. It was in the 80s that day, no cloud in the sky - scorcher, but his men worked from 11am-4pm banging away! I was able to be home the whole time, so the noise was tolerable. I had a special request that Jesse please clean the skylight. The glass was too hot at the time, so he actually returned the NEXT day after the job was already complete and shined up those skylights!! (They had not been cleaned in 20 years). So talk about going above and beyond. I forgot to mention, the pricing was very reasonable - and he fully protected our roof for the coming rainy season - now that is priceless! Thank you, Jesse! read more

Thank you to the very honest owner Brian for helping me in a tight situation with my roof. I was outside his service area, but he was very caring and requested details and photos to help me out. I have a happy ending to share with Yelp Community about South County Roofing. I had a wonderful meeting with the owner Brian Atkins who personally called me and came to fix my roof on 11/20/24. He cleared his busy schedule to personally come and work on my roof. He brought me a well-protected printed contract in a folder for me to sign, and provided me with a copy. He was congenial, professional, and diligent. He went up to our roof and repaired the broken/chipped tiles, reseal the plumbing flashings and fixed the tiles that have slid out of place that were on the proposal with additional touch to omitted area. The work was finished in a timely manner and within the estimated reasonable proposal cost. This local small company is in the repair roof business and not to build a new roof. They are saving customers' money. After finishing the job, Brian sent me photos without delay, but it was challenging for me to match some of the photos with the descriptions of problems and accompanying repairs since the tiles appeared identical in many photos. I asked Brian and he gladly have the office manager sending me our uploaded Google photos on the same day. I struggled to distinguish the photos with my non technical eyes, but Brian was incredible, sending me specific photos to demonstrate what was accomplished while we were on the phone. I am happy to meet Brian and we resolved the situation amicably. The importance lies in the owner and office manager Kaitlyn being accountable and taking the time to rectify the situation in a positive manner. Despite not having the leak prior to the repairs, I wanted to be proactive in preventing costly damages. South County Roofing has provided me with the assistance I need so far, following the rain, and there are still no leaks. Wonderful ending with a great local company. read more
