I never write reviews on yelp or anywhere else, but the job that A's did on my roof deserves it. I had a tremendous ponding problem on my flat roof. I must have had at least 7 roofers come out, but none of them laid out a detailed plan on how to resolve it, except for Martin. Some of them didn't even propose a bid, even after calling them several times. The ones that did submit a bid were unspecific and ridiculously expensive. Martin laid out exactly how he would solve the ponding problems and completed the job with no surprise "extras". His foreman, Dago, is a very good carpenter, which was necessary to get the slope that was needed to properly drain the water. Check out the detail in the framing. A's roofing removed my old clay tile roof and replaced it with more modern concrete tiles. I truly appreciate the professionalism of Martin (owner) and the foreman (Dago). The response time via email was very quick. They did a great job and were very clean (well as clean as can be expected). I have open beam ceilings and they draped plastic across the ceiling in my house to catch the debris. I was very impressed. It was still a mess but better. Santa Ana winds came and started to blow the skylights off my house! The team responded very quickly and treated it as the emergency that it was and came to nail/screw the skylights. Poor business practices , with bait and switch pricing. I had A's replace my underlayment and the tile - so completely new roof. While the work done was done well, and the workers were nice, there were lots of surprise costs for things I thought were included. And never any flexibility or understanding- just more invoices from Martin for every little thing. After $40K of costs including an extra $10K for wood repairs, I still had a leak a few weeks later with all the rains this season. Turns out the area around the chimney cap needed to be resealed. I would have been happy to pay extra to have it fixed during the main job but it was never suggested during the roof install. These guys were here for weeks and never said anything. I called to see if A's could come fix it and they charged me a $125 fee just to come out. Then after taking my check I was told they couldn't fix the leak for over two months because they had other jobs to do. So I ended up finding someone else and paying more. Just poor business practices - especially for an existing customer that has paid so much money already. What should have been a small thing really has soured me, and now I'm worried they won't honor my roof warranty if something else goes wrong. read more

He was knowledgeable and clearly explained explained the scope of their work. One of the things I like most was they are a small, family business with three generations of roofing experience. A's Roofing was actually the lowest priced, and although I generally don't go with the lowest bid on jobs I felt the most comfortable with Martin so I gave them the job. I'm glad I did. Martin did a great job replacing our roof and giving it the proper pitch so that there was no pooling and water runs into rain gutters. The previous roof had serious drainage issues that was causing rot in some beams. Martin replace all that needed to be and you can't tell the difference. He also rebuilt our entryway which was sagging and now is in perfect alignment with the rest of the roof. I even got them back to re-set the gutters on the other side of my house so now instead of rainwater draining to the back corners of my house causing foundation damage, it's all redirected down the slope of my front yard to the street. read more
