    Roofing work
    Phuc T.

We hired Prestige Roofing & Solar to replace the 30+yo tile roof underlayment. From start to finish, our communication with the supervisor, Peter, were excellent and while they were not the least cost, they were very competitive and have found issues during inspection. The quality of work and timeliness have been great, and they even took care of the city permit and gutter installations. We have already recommended to two of our friends in the neighborhood and to anyone that needs roofing work.

Before: 30 year old roof in need of help!

Picking a roofing company is no easy feat, especially with the cost of it being my main concern. After receiving quotes from 5 different companies, we decided that Prestige was the right choice for us! We needed a traditional roof but also a surrounding pergola (around the house) roofed as well. John came out to give an estimate and provide all the options to suit our needs. We wanted something that would fit the Spanish look but not be too heavy for the existing roof structure. Hence why we chose the Clay Lite options. John was very knowledgeable, professional, and genuine. What we enjoyed most about John was that he never pressured us and in all our interactions with him he was very transparent about the process and the cost of it all. On the day of installation, they were punctual and came with a game plan in mind. It was a finely-tuned machine with team members knowing exactly where they needed to be. The day before installing they dropped off a portable bathroom for their workers. The process with the city had taken a long time with inspections and permits, but once Prestige started, they were able to finish quickly. They knew exactly what to do and how to work around solar panels. I have recommended Prestige to many friends who have had leaks in their roofs with the recent storms. They were impressed by Prestige and booked them as well.

Asphalt shingles installed under the solar panels and concrete tiles around the panels for a flush look.

Prestige Roofing gets my highest praise on all levels. John was the only company at first to come out to my home and even give me his opinion on whether a new roof was necessary prior to a solar installation. He was the most prompt, thorough in responding to my questions and he was definitely better priced than other quotes. The installers came out in full force and got most of the project done in 2 days. Then we had to wait for solar panels to be installed in which the team came back afterwards to finish the rest of the roof. Pictures don't do it justice but they installed asphalt shingles under the panels and laid tiles around (per HOA rules). If you look at bottom of the roof, they installed tiles where there was about. 2-3 inch space from the edge of the solar panel to the bottom of the roof. Immaculate attention to detail. Given that roofing is something you do maybe once in a lifetime, peace of mind is everything and I can confidently say Prestige Roofing provides that in spades.

    Our house before

Since moving into our new house Jan 2019, we've been upgrading here and there, and one of the things I wanted to update was our roof. The previous owners had Eagle Lightweight Tile (a barrel tile) installed 29 years ago, and we started having more and more issues with cracked tiles and a small leak. After contacting Eagle we were told they would replace our tile for free (tile and delivery) we just had to pay for the underlayment, labor and any wood replacement. After having about 6-7 quotes from roofing companies, we contacted John the owner of Prestige Roofing. I have to admit, at this point I was so over this process, our quotes were all over the place, from lowest to highest there was a $15k dollar difference. When John at Prestige came by for the quote, my wife and I were immediately impressed, he had tons of knowledge and most importantly, he didn't try to upsell us on everything, nor did he try and nickel and dime us to death. (Prestige quote was extremely competitive) John was completely professional and extremely informative. He explained everything from beginning to end. One thing he assured us was that he would not pull our crew in the middle of our job to go work on another job (which is pretty common in roofing) Due to his professionalism, we went with him. In talking with our Eagle Tile rep, he assured us as well that John and Prestige Roofing was an excellent choice and he even assured us we'd get good quality work. We decided to upgrade our underlayment from double ply felt to the Titanium PSU-30, which is an incredible synthetic underlayment that peels and sticks to the roof, and has an amazing warranty. This really allows complete peace of mind knowing that even if we have cracks or damaged tiles, we have a barrier that will withstand the rain or heat to a far greater extent. The price for this upgrade at the end of the day is minimal. John and his ENTIRE Company that I dealt with, were excellent when it comes to both service and communication. Whenever I texted him or called into the office, I was always met with a timely reply. Roofing your house can be stressful, and everyone at Prestige Roofing understands this. The quality of their work is impeccable, the crew every day were very polite and very respectful of our property as well as our neighbors. Even though there were sometimes 7-10 guys onsite, they were respectful of our neighbors which was important to us. The job took about 5 days, and every day they cleaned up everything and left no trash anywhere. The whole job they would have a guy running around cleaning as they went, so it wasn't like all the trash etc just piled up. They also used a magnetic nail sweeper constantly, which assured that no nails got left behind. I cannot begin to tell you how pleased 100% we were with John and everyone from Prestige Roofing. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to have their roof replaced, repaired or really just anything roof. Please send me a message if you have any questions, or if you're considering them and want to see their work, contact me and I'll set up a time and let you come see their work. I am posting pics I stole from their own website, I took some but they were from the ground, and if you go on their website, one thing they do is drone over your house before, during and after the job. I'm telling you, Prestige is quality! Anyways, John, if you read this, I stole pics from your site of our roof, hope you don't mind!

They were punctual and patient with me as I missed our appointment time the first time. Irving was very kind and made another appointment for me. His crew came and didn't need much other than the door to the roof. They sent photos of what needed fixing with their quote and again of what they fixed with their invoice. The roof looks great and I'm not worried about rain now. The quote was on the higher side but because of their professionalism I'm glad I went with them. I highly suggest them if you want a real good job and won't just do the minimum. Thank you Terrazas Roofing!

This is my first posting, but I felt obligated to warn others about my experience with this…read morecompany. Like they warn you about contractors, take the low estimate and double it. That's exactly what happened here. My estimate was around $23,000 but the final cost was over $45,000. They placed a lot of the cost as 'extra' but most of it became necessary. I chose this company based on their good reviews. But I think they prevented bad reviews. I would have gotten a 'discount' if I didn't write this review. The clause they added was: "As part of this agreement, both parties agree not to make, publish, or communicate any statements, whether written or oral, that could reasonably be construed as negative, defamatory, or disparaging toward the other party, including but not limited to statements made on review platforms, social media, or to third parties. This includes statements regarding the project, the services performed, or the resolution of this matter. This obligation applies indefinitely." It seemed pretty standard, so I guess I am not the first to get it. When they added over $6,000 to the estimate, I requested to be notified of any further changes. I heard nothing. But when I called to ask what was going on, I was told that the cost had increased to over $40,000. And I had to call to find out. When I asked to see the items I was being charged, I was told I should have gone up to roof and watched to verify what was actually being used. That response alone speaks volumes. My advice: be careful when you get an estimate from a company who doesn't have someone go on the roof. I thought using a drone was modern and efficient, but it can also be lazy and gives them no idea what needs to be done --adding costly surprises later.

Dave was prompt in responding to my Yelp inquiry and got me scheduled within just two days. He was very punctual, professional, knowledgeable, and honest throughout the entire process- from the first contact to the last. I received an inspection and estimate on a water leak from the wall near the window and upon his thorough inspection of inside, outside, above the home with a drone, Dave came to a conclusion that it was most likely related to the window itself. He spent his time explaining his findings and going over the condition of the roof which demonstrated his knowledge and expertise. He told me to do a water challenge test from outside the window since he'd rather do the least invasive thing first, rather than go straight to the roof since he didn't see anything visibly wrong with the roof. Within 48 hours of the inspection he emailed me photos of the roof that he took with his drone and an estimate of the roof repair if I were to need it. Dave was a pleasure to work with and he will definitely be the person I contact and refer to others when there is ever a need for any roof work!

Some was so bad that you could literally see exposed underlayment. I was only able to catch this due to a bathroom window I have that just happen to overlook it. If I got the work done on a different part of the roof, probably would never have noticed. And would never be able to call them to address it, so keep that in mind. What's worse is that since the roof work there was no major rain for 16 month, which is outside of the 12 month warranty. So I guess if you never put their roof to the test against mother nature then I guess it's perfect service. But the first time it's suppose to do its job it fails to do so. At this point I'm not sure what they did mess up my tiles and take my money for the privilege. I would literally be in a better position had I not paid them to do "work" on my roof. I tried contacting them several times and met with the cold shoulder. I'm probably just going to eat my losses here but if you're considering them, just be warned. Or make sure it rains in the warranty period!

Carlos, the owner, was also amazing, prompt, straightforward, knowledgeable. They did an amazing job on my roof. Roof itself 5/5. No complaints. However, I do believe the job and the service itself is 3 stars. Not bad but not amazing. I ended up walking away from this experience just kind of meh but wanted to share my honest thoughts so it'll help others. That being said, there were a couple hiccups that happened along the way. No one contacted me prior to the day of my start date/roof removal. The office manager kind of chucked it as the person who supposed to let me know was out sick. They require someone be home to sign off on the work so not letting me know seemed off.. Not a peep about what time theyll be arriving, what to expect. Etc. Yes, they walk you through this process during quotation but thats about 4 to 6 weeks out before the actual day. They also didnt let me know which day or what time. I had to reach out myself multiple times. The team is quick but I also think their speed leaves them a bit careless. After they were done, I was left with a patched ceiling (beautifully patched but I feel like shouldn't have happened in the first place), kitchen/outdoor light that no longer works, loose recessed lighting,, and plumbing leak. They also let you know and disclose that things may break since theres pressure on the roof. Its in the contract but it highlights loose items and such... but realistically, not electrical going out or plumbing leaks based on what ive learned from others and neighbors. I also had my plumbing inspected and redone in September 2024. Now, im not saying they were at fault and that theyre to blame. It could just be my luck that it happened exactly on the day they were up on my roof after living here over a year. Also, very minor but there were trash left around that my inspector found. They were accomodating on making things right although they started to be a little short with me towards the end. I really considered referring them to other friends who needed their roofing done but not sure if my confidence is there if theyll be spending $$$ for an ok experience.
