Follow up review. Justin was out to wash and inspect my system today. He discovered wind-damage to some of the panel supports likely the result of the high-winds we experienced during the January Santa Ana's that stoked the Palisades and Altadena fires. He will be out later this week to repair the damage. This underscores the need to have your system checked yearly and not only just cleaned. He provides photos of the problem areas in need of repair. In my experience the best way to contact Solar Tuneup was through Yelp as opposed to calling in. After requesting a quote through Yelp I was contacted in less than an hour to schedule an appointment. Solar Tuneup did exactly what I was hoping for. $200 for a diagnostic; they found and corrected the problem I had been having with my system. I highly recommend Solar Tuneup For servicing of your solar panels and for cleaning them. They are extremely professional, Knowledgeable and prompt! One of our micro inverters on our solar panel system went bad after 11 years. GCI solar originally installed them in 2014 but I believe GCI solar sold the business a few years later to another company, and they have since gone out of business. Enphase Energy monitors our system and we are also able to check it through the Enphase app on our phone as well as on the computer. At any rate one of our solar panels hasn't been working for a couple of months so there has been no output from that solar panel. I contacted Enphase energy and they sent us a new micro-inverter at no charge because it is still under warranty. Yay! The next step was to find a solar company that could do the install. I contacted one company and it took them over three weeks just to get me an estimate and the estimate I thought was rather high for the amount of work. Last Friday I contacted Justin at Solar Tuneup in Orange CA. He said he was very familiar with GCI Solar's work and that he would be able to install the micro-inverter and clean our solar panels at the same time. He would register it with Enphase energy so that it would be monitored like the rest of our solar panels and the correct serial number would show in our monitoring system. Justin got us scheduled for the following Monday. He was here this morning with Apollo and they did a superb job. Great communication, professional service, and they completed the job for a reasonable price. My solar panels are clean and look great and they are all working perfectly. I can't recommend Justin enough if you want someone to talk to for all your solar needs. It's rare these days to find someone who is genuinely looking out for your best interests. I have had multiple occasions dealing with other solar companies who were more interested in their bottom line than what is right for the customer: e.g., trying to turn a small project to add more panels to a bigger project and trick me to spend more money to replace my roof while I'm adding panels (which made no sense since the roof was perfectly fine and had no issues). I first met Justin back in 2021 when some of my Enphase panels were offline. He came out to quickly diagnose and fix the issues with some of the inverters. It was clear he was very knowledgeable but I was just as impressed with how honest and straightforward he was. Fast forward to 2025 and I reached out to him to get his insight into solar batteries. He came out and patiently explained everything without being pushy. We eventually settled on a plan to add some batteries to an existing system. After Justin spent many hours on his own dime explaining things over text and email, walking through my property, researching what is possible, etc., it turns out my house layout has some difficulties that make it challenging and more expensive than the original plan to work around. So we jointly decided it wasn't something I wanted to do given the new info. He quickly returned my deposit and maintained a friendly attitude the whole time. I think this really demonstrates his great customer service as he was just as pleasant at the end when he wasn't getting paid for all the time on this project as at the start when trying to win the business. My solar panel company would not support the time frame for the re-roof. They also had a higher than acceptable price to remove and re-install. I'll try to be short. Our panels are on an ancient flat roof. We had to do some serious roof repairs. The panels were dirty, and aged and it showed. Justin and his team responded extremely fast, provided a very reasonable bid : to remove all panels, re install after roof repairs with re wiring and clean up and all that tough messy labor. Came in right on time, panels were off (30 of them). The roof was repaired and we applied a new silicon through out. I have a solar system that was installed several years ago by a now out of business installer. I noticed on my app that a couple of panels had stopped producing. So I went to yelp and asked a couple of electricians for recommendations. Solar Tuneup was the only company to respond to my inquiry.
