    Tesla batteries after conduit paint
    Mike L.

***Final Update*** On 9/08/25 my loan was approved and I was able to make payments. And on 9/16/25 my PTO was granted! Many thanks to Sara, Kay, Tim and the whole team at Infiniti Solar for their hard work and dedication in getting this job done!

    Solar looks so seamless

We had Infinity Solar install our solar panel system last year right before the federal tax credit changed, and the entire experience was fantastic from start to finish. Tim, the owner, was incredibly helpful walking us through the whole design process and figuring out the perfect system capacity for our home. He's genuinely passionate about solar and it shows in everything he does. We went with REC solar panels and two Tesla Powerwall batteries, and the fact that Infinity Solar is a Tesla Certified Installer gave us total confidence. We had just finished redoing our roof, and once that was done their solar installation crew coordinated seamlessly with the roofer and knocked out the entire install in one day. super impressive! Their project coordinator kept us updated every step of the way, handled all the permit approvals, and managed the back-and-forth with Edison for the utility. The only hiccup was scheduling the final utility inspection at the very end, but that had zero to do with Infinity Solar. Everyone was scrambling to beat the tax credit deadline, so the utility company was completely backlogged. Even then, our project coordinator Sara went way above and beyond -- she literally met with a utility rep in person and got the inspector out way sooner than expected. That kind of service is unforgettable. We're thrilled with the whole system and already recommended Infinity Solar to our neighbor. She shopped around and compared a bunch of solar companies, but what won her over was how long they've been in business and how on top of the latest products and technology they stay. It just gives you peace of mind knowing they'll be around for the long haul if you ever need warranty service. Would absolutely recommend Infinity Solar to anyone looking for a solid, trustworthy, and customer-focused solar installer!

I'm not someone who rushes big decisions--especially ones involving technology, reliability, and long-term integration. After our original solar installer went out of business, I started researching companies to retrofit our system and add battery storage. I took my time, got quotes from several companies, and dug deep into equipment specs, warranties, and business stability. Contractor Selection Infinity Solar rose to the top quickly. They're a local, family-owned company, and both Tim (owner) and Sara (project manager) were knowledgeable, patient, and accessible throughout the process. I never felt pressured or rushed. They were upfront about everything--from newer technologies to logistical complications with retrofitting--and even walked me through tariff-related cost changes so we could come to a fair agreement. There was only one other solar company that was competitive from a price standpoint. Hardware and System Design We installed REC panels with Franklin aPower2 and Enphase microinverters. Design-wise, our roof is complicated--multiple angles, plus an existing solar pool heating system. Infinity's team worked around all of that, color-matched the conduit to the house, and met every detail of our strict HOA requirements. The final layout is clean, efficient, and aesthetically solid. The Franklin batteries look great in person--built like tanks--and Enphase performance data has been very promising so far. Installation Time Installation took two days. The crew was efficient, professional, and cleaned up at the end of each day. My father-in-law, who's been in construction and general contracting for decades, said it was one of the most efficient teams he's seen in years. Permitting, fire inspection, and city inspection were all handled by Infinity, and the utility interconnection process was completely seamless. Savings System performance has been excellent. We're running a pool heat pump and dual-zone AC, and our energy bill has effectively disappeared. Under NEM 3.0, our expected payback is somewhere between 7-9 years, even with batteries--and that's assuming utility rates continue to climb. Support Infinity also took the time to clearly explain the contract and warranty details. Their post-install support has been strong too. I'm fairly tech-savvy and like to dig into performance metrics myself, but it's good to know I can reach out and get a quick, informed response when needed. Franklin App and Enphase App were both configured. Warranty coverage only my old system was transferred to Infinity. When I spoke to the install team, they mentioned that Tim takes care of them and that there's a real sense of pride in the work they do--and it shows. Shoutout to Ben! That internal company culture makes a difference. I wanted a system that was efficient, resilient, and backed by people who stand behind their work. That's exactly what I got with Infinity Solar. If you're looking for a company that's local, competent, honest, and likely to be around for the long haul, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Apologies on not providing pictures of the panels as it's difficult to get a good angle to see the quality of their work.

    Perfect finished job!

After retiring the original gas furnace and installing a heat pump we wanted to upgrade our 60 year old house with solar to pay the electric bill. Using Yelp reviews to narrow down our search we were between a local company and a San Diego company that did two houses for a friend and came highly recommended. After asking a few questions to the local guy, I felt like I was bothering him and even though the S.D. company assured me that the distance was, "No problem", I didn't feel quite right about them either. Then I called Infinity and spoke with Kay, admittedly by then I was pretty sure knew want I wanted, but after talking with her for 10 minutes, I told my family that I had found the right place. Our electrician had hidden all the needed conduit inside the walls when he did our panel upgrade and made it really easy to run the wiring for the solar panels. The local guy said, "$600 if we have to go in the attic"; Kay said, "We can do that". The estimate was similar to the other two but we were getting a larger system with higher rated REC panels and a 25 year warranty on the system. After signing up, Blake took care of our plans, Claudia took care of our money and then Sara took great care of our job and keeping us informed of each step along the way. After all the plans were approved and signed off work started 60 days after speaking with Kay and this was included the Christmas holidays. Their head technician Ben arrived at 8 AM with 3 installers and you immediately knew that he was the man and this was the crew you wanted doing your job. They were finished at 1:30 with everything done neatly, cleanly and to our upmost satisfaction. We couldn't be more pleased with the people at Infinity and the beautiful work they did for us. We highly recommend them, 6 STARS.

I looked at a lot of different places. I had Tesla solar panels on my roof already. I needed someone that could add more panels and not of charge me for a bunch of other things. Walter with infinity solar did a great job. I contacted other places like sunrun. I have a friend who has sunroom and he still hasn't had his solar hooked up and it's been over 4 months. Once I got through the loan process and they got the permits it took one week to put my solar in and have the City come out and turn it on. I would recommend them again. I had a bunch of chargers in my garage. They rewire the charger and put better conduit. I had a different electrician put a plug in and it was malfunctioning and they fixed that for me. They reset up all of my circuits on my circuit breaker and put a powerwall in a gateway. Fantastic work. Very happy

I wanted to at least give 2 stars, but now that everything is wrapped up, I feel like the experience overall was frustrating enough to warrant 1 star. The good: our system has been installed, and a month after installation, is finally working correctly. However, to get to this point required an excessive amount of overhead from my partner and I following up, asking questions, taking pictures, and trying to get answers about things we relied on Infinity Solar being experts in. We got bids from several local solar companies - Infinity Solar was not the lowest price, but we decided to go with them because of the great experience we had with our Sales Representative, Kay (Kay gets 5 stars). She was knowledgeable, super responsive, and made us feel that this company would be the best choice in terms of quality installation and customer service. As soon as we stopped working with Kay things went downhill. - The initial inspector didn't find the solar conduit in our attic, so their initial drafted plans ran conduit on the outside of our home and had to be updated to accommodate our HOA's needs. - We regularly had to send multiple emails/texts to our project coordinator to get answers to questions or confirm scheduling details. - Our installation date was scheduled, canceled, tentatively rescheduled, canceled, and rescheduled - all requiring multiple inquiries from us to confirm what was actually going on. After our blueprint plans were approved by the city, we waited over a week to hear back from Infinity Solar. After we reached out to them, we were told at 1PM the install would be happening the next day, and by 4PM that plan was canceled. We waited another week to reach out to ask about getting things rescheduled and had to follow up with our project coordinator and sales representative to confirm an actual install date. - We were told our install would be completed in 1 day - it ended up being 2 full days + an additional ~4 hours on the day of the city inspection to get everything ready (and it STILL required extra work to get everything set up properly). - On the day of the install, the installation team told us they wouldn't be able to execute what was drawn up in the approved plans, and we had to frantically contact our HOA, day of, to confirm the new plans (this was a ton of overhead put on us last minute). - When the installers didn't finish Day 1, they said they would be storing their lift in our community. We told them keeping oversized vehicles on the property was against the HOA rules and we couldn't guarantee the safety of their vehicle, but they parked there anyway. - On the day of the city inspection, the team did not contact us at all, but entered our property to work on the battery and with the inspector anyway (we found out afterwards when we saw them on our side yard camera). - The initial installation of the battery wall was crooked. We mentioned this multiple times and were told it would be fixed when things were finished. On the day the team came to turn the power on, we mentioned it again, and the technicians agreed the install was not correct, which meant ADDITIONAL work getting the battery braced on our wall correctly (see pictures for before and after), so ~3 total days of work to get these installed right. Infinity Solar does use sub-contractors for installation, so depending on who you get it seems like the quality can fluctuate. - In multiple instances, we were told we would get follow up information (scheduling info, names of who would be coming to our place, etc.) that were simply never sent to us. - When submitting the NEM3 contract to SCE, Infinity Solar input the wrong model information about the battery they installed, delaying our Permission to Operate. - After receiving our Permission to Operate, we were not actually sending excess energy to the grid, which we only noticed by monitoring the EverVolt app ourselves. Our initial email to Infinity Solar asking for help got no response, so we had to bump the email again a few days later (this was normal for pretty much all communication) and when customer service replied, they said it was our fault for not following instructions for allowing energy sell-back...except instructions were NEVER SENT TO US. We had been told during install that we didn't need to do anything. They told us to access a part of the app that was password protected, we had no password. They told us to enable a setting, we were never told this setting existed. Finally, 11 days after our actual PTO was approved, our system was sending back to the grid correctly. The whole process (sans interacting with Kay) was extremely frustrating, and while I'm glad the system is working now, I'm dreading anything going wrong and having to follow-up with Infinity Solar to troubleshoot the issue. If you have free time to manage your solar project yourself, maybe this is fine for you, but for two full-time working adults, this was ~3 months of having a part time job.

Infinity Solar installed our solar panels in 2018 and they did an excellent job. Tim was honest and the quote process was easy to understand. They installed the panels on top of our 2nd story, so they're barely noticeable. Their customer service and installation team were all terrific from start to finish. They were careful on our roof and didn't cause any damage. We have had a couple of minor tech issues with our app over the years, and they readily helped us resolve it within hours. Recently, a few of our panels showed that they weren't communicating and Vanessa scheduled a tech to come out that same day. Davis was terrific and had us back up and running in just a couple of hours. We're so grateful for their support. Choosing Infinity solar was the best decision. We highly recommend them.

Ask the Community - Infinity Solar

Do you do repairs on existing solar systems? Ours has stopped working and the company that installed them went out of business.

We do service older systems. Please call the office for fee fees. Our number is 714-880-8089. Thank you.

We need a new roof plus the solar panel, not sure which ones. Do you also do roofing?

Hi Gabriel! Thank you for reaching out. We work closely with two roofers- Terraza Roofing and Ocean Roofing Inc. We work hand in hand with them. We provide a quote and incorporate so you can take advantage of tax benefit.

Do you install solar panels on metal roofs?

Yes we can! It requires us to remove the mental roof and install composite roof under the Solar panels.

Do you install water solar for pool heating?

You should call and ask the owner Tim. He will let you know or have a recommendation if he does not install it. I have both pool solar heater & regular solar system. I usually call pool solar specialist whenever I need assistance. Depending on your… Read more

Hello. We install solar panels in the most optimal Location. If your pool heater is in an area then we will take it off the roof only if you approve it.

    So they do pool solar?

Are you referring to solar water heating for the pool? If so, then no we don’t do solar water heating. We install photovoltaic solar panels that provide the electricity to power your pool pump etc.

Is a 10 year old shingled roof young enough to have solar panels placed on it?

Great reviews here. Congratulations. My question is regarding "lease" vs. buy. Not sure lease is the right word, but it appears from these reviews that all customers purchased the system. Is that the preferred way now?

My best advice would be to schedule a consultation and run through the numbers. I initially wanted to lease mainly for fear of committing to the purchase. After talking to my brother who is a realtor it seems there can be challenges in selling your… Read more

Every person who came out was professional and respectful. What really set them apart was handling both our full roof replacement and solar installation together. I didn't want a roofing company and solar company pointing fingers at each other down the road -- OC Solar eliminates that headache entirely. It has been about 8 months since the project was completed so I feel I can write this review fairly…read moreabout my experience. It was pushed to get it in before the credits ended. For the quick summary, there was a mistake in my installation, it was not handled well and the system works well but only have a long struggle. They price match but hard to say if I felt good about the price in the end either. Overall, it is very mediocre. After talking to 4 companies, I decided to go with OC after they honored a price match from a competitor. It was a fairly large system, 15 panels and a Tesla power wall 3 and needed to be added to existing system as my current one was underpowered and required due to new builds in California. Total was about 33k, out the door. It may not have been the cheapest offering but shopping for solar is not my favorite experience and I went with what I felt was at least fair for what I got. I primarily worked with Don from sales and Brooklynn and initially seemed fine and for all intents and purposes, it should have been. I chose to get HOA approval and pay for it myself so it did stall the project through no fault of OC. I dropped the first major deposit of 10k and the installation was scheduled around July 2025. The next part is where the struggle began. The day of installation, the installers tell me the panels cannot fit in the design that they were given. They asked if I wanted to pivot to another part of roof and just install it then and there. I call OC and they admit the design cannot possibly fit my panels on this small area of my roof and I cancel the project and have them redo the plans and for me to go through HOA again. This leads to a very frustrating back and forth with Don and later Brookylnn's superiors as I no longer heard from her. I had about 10 calls or more trying to clarify what to do next and was met with a lot of resistance about what happened. It turns out the plan was actually the original estimate from Don (sales) and for some reason just pushed through their architectural team without consideration of the size. Don's superior Chandler even spoke with me about this and though I can't recall their explanation for this mistake, they spoke as if this was my issue with wanted to go through HOA and that they had no power to stop the project. If I had written this review after this call, I'd recommend no one work with these people. It felt frustrating and at times demeaning, given that they do this all day and I don't know what I'm talking about. After I got my second approval, OC refunded my fee to the HOA approval, but only after I explicitly asked for it. We eventually moved forward with the project and inspection when fine. My guess is had we not had this irresponsible prelimary design provided by Don go through their "architectural" team it would've been fine and none the wiser. As of this writing, the panels are working as intended and I had such a sour experience, I just moved on. But now Don and company requested a review for their internal systems, so here is it and a Yelp one that they did not ask for. In the end, like most of these experiences, it's not the mistake that upsets me, it's the handling of it. Communication started fading when things got more difficult and the lack of empathy or consideration for some dropping this much money on something they will do maybe 2-3 times in their life is disappointing. Much of the time I asked them and myself, how should I know this plan wouldn't work? Sure the HOA can't legally stop me, but I have to live with them, not OC. Whoever may have gotten this far, thank you for hearing my rant. Odds are you will have a fair experience but the truth is, most of these companies are interchangeable. They are all middle men and their strength and differences lie in the customer service and coordination. I didn't expect but solar buying is probably more similar to going to a car dealership. Do your research, advocate for yourself and don't get your hopes too high and it will probably be fine. As for OC, I think in the end they are just mediocre. They're like anyone else you may talk to. The processes are probably similar and I'm glad the system has worked well, which helps my scoring of this review. Maybe they just got lucky with me at the time, as I was getting fed up talking from one salesperson to the next and they price matched. I'm sure others will and can do the same so whoever you go with, as long as you are on top of it, it will go fine.

Our first conversation with NetZero was with Donny, and while it was helpful, we decided to pause and keep learning. After doing more homework and later reconnecting with Nilda and Bobby, the experience felt very different. They took the time to answer questions in plain language, walked through realistic expectations, and never tried to rush us into a decision. After we decided to move forward, the process was handled professionally from start to finish. Nick helped dial in the system design and made sure everything made sense for our home, and Mark oversaw the install side and kept things moving smoothly. The crew showed up when they said they would, treated our home with care, and cleaned up at the end of each day, which we really appreciated. Permitting and inspections were handled by the team and communicated the steps along the way. There were no surprises. Kelly was especially helpful keeping us in the loop and responding quickly whenever we had questions, which made the whole process feel far less stressful than we expected going in. Overall, NetZero Energy felt like a company that values doing things the right way and standing behind their work. We are happy with the install, the communication, and the end result, and would feel comfortable recommending them to friends or family who are considering solar.

Bobby jumped in, explained everything clearly, and got my system back online quickly by replacing several microinverters. The work was clean, efficient, and done right the first time. It's rare to find someone this dependable and knowledgeable. If your solar system needs repairs -- especially if you've been left hanging by another company -- call Forme Solar Electric. Five stars all the way.

We started with an initial inspection and quote from Leo, who was very attentive, he took the time to explain the process clearly and addressed all of our questions. They even tarped our roof on very short notice just before the rains arrived. Special thanks go to Pablo our project foreman, Ethan, and the entire crew for their professionalism and doing such a beautiful, quality job. Pablo was very attentive, he listened to all our concerns and was always respectful and considerate of our needs. He took the time to explain the problem areas as we had a lot of damaged wood, took pictures for me and went through repair options, always being fair and honest. He clearly takes pride in his work and works hard to ensure the best results for his customers. They were always on time, cleaned up thoroughly after each workday and completed the project in 5 days. After the project was completed we had minor concerns in the following days and the team took care of these promptly. We highly recommend them you will not regret it.

I paid $60,000 to Certified Roofing Specialists for a roof and solar installation. The work was…read morecompleted, but the experience did not match the premium price. I was provided with a non English speaking crew, which made it hard to communicate important details. Because of this, I was never informed that my previously installed EV charger would create a solar permit issue. That oversight ended up costing me an additional $2,000. For a company charging at the higher end, I expected clear communication and a thorough review of existing electrical work. Instead, I was left paying for issues that should have been identified upfront. My advice to future customers: - Make sure they thoroughly review all prior electrical work done in your home. - Ask specifically about permit implications before signing. - Get clear confirmation on who will be onsite and whether they can communicate effectively with you. - Do not assume they will proactively flag electrical conflicts, you may be asked to pay for corrections later. The company is on the expensive side, and I accepted that cost in exchange for what I believed would be a smooth, well-communicated experience. Unfortunately, the communication breakdown and unexpected added costs did not justify the premium pricing. Proceed carefully and ask very detailed questions before committing.
