My solar install with Infinity Solar was just completed this morning and overall I had a great experience. My initial quote started with Kay almost four months ago. She was great to deal with and answered all my questions. The project manager Sara then took over and was quick to respond on questions and kept me informed of everything throughout the steps. The actual install by Chava, Adrian, Arni, Jose and Erick was smooth and the guys did an exceptional job. I just had an electrician install an EV charger and he praised the work saying it was one of the best solar installs he's ever seen. While I do feel like it was a long process, the main reason it took a long time was Edison taking so long to approve everything. Our experience TL;DR: Infinity Solar is a quality family owned and operated business who handled everything in house. They weren't the lowest bidder, but that slightly higher price netted us a quality experience with quality materials and in the end, a quality system with quality support. Their staff, from salesperson Kay at the beginning and especially PM Sara throughout, are what made our experience worthwhile and truly lived up to all of Infinity's five star Yelp reviews. Our experience in detail: I obtained quotes from six different companies for a solar PV + battery storage solution before selecting Infinity Solar - and I am so glad I did. Of our six quotes, Infinity was not the lowest bid, but came in only slightly higher than the lowest bid. They quoted an exceedingly fair purchase price that reflected their company statement to us: They're a family owned business with decades of collective expertise with a focus on a quality experience for their customers. They used quality hardware, included a 30 year SolarInsure parts and labor policy for the PV portion of the system, and did not use third party installers or staff. Kay, our salesperson, took the time and energy to answer ALL of my detailed questions, weeks before we signed on the dotted line. I cannot say enough good things about the team at Infinity Solar. These guys are FANTASTIC. I do not write a lot of Yelp reviews, but in this case it is necessary. We originally got bids from four different solar companies, all highly rated. We ultimately settled on Infinity due to their responsiveness, the technology they utilize and their competitive pricing. Infinity Solar Continues Service Excellence Infinity electrician Jordan responded today to a late night system failure on our solar system. Come to find out, it was a mix of "perfect storm" issues that led to the failure. He thoroughly examined the service panels, control system, and ran some failure tests. He also examined the car charger installation done through another firm, and helped with optimizing charge settings with the vehicular, batteries capacity, and breaker level. Part 2: The owners Tim and Robyn personally reached out to apologize and fixed the leaking roof. From our conversation, I can tell that they care about their customer and workmanship. They had their roofing team take down 16 solar panels and removed all the tiles so they can identify what's causing the leak. After fixing the leak. I assume because I sent the information and never heard anything in return. I sent another message two days later asking if they have reviewed it because I hadn't been contacted. Infinity Solar - Lack of communication, Pt. 2 - Solar Installation Near Me - Orange, California

I had a great first impression of Infinity Solar back when they installed my solar in 2018 and installed a Tesla power wall in 2019. I interviewed and got quotes from several companies, and I was most impressed by the knowledge of their representative. And they gave a very fair deal. But there were problems. During the installation, when they were upgrading my electrical box, they went all the way through the wall into the house which they did repair. When they went to install the power wall battery, they only had one guy out doing the install and he scraped the battery in trying to do what should've been a 2 to 3 person job. They offered a discount so that was fine. Overall, I was satisfied with everything after it was up and running. They took care of the permits and dealt with the electric company and everything seemed fine. If I had given them a rating, then, it probably would've been four stars. Fast forward to 2023 and I'm trying to get additional panels, because I added an EV and hot tub so my 4.6 kW system was no longer cutting it with SDGE raising peak TOU5 rate to $0.84!!!. It took me over a month and a half to get in contact with them and no one responded to emails or calls in a timely manner and they seemed completely disinterested in my business. The communication was greatly lacking in. At that point I would've given them two stars. I contacted about 6-7 other companies instead. Updated 2/13/2023: I'm updating this review because after my low review, both Robyn and Tim, the owners of the company, reached out to me, unaware of the issues I had been having. I should have tried to reach out to them to escalate the issue sooner. They both listened to my concerns and responded immediately. Tim is very knowledgeable about all the nuances in expanding my current system, and was very helpful in providing additional information. Let me compare Infinity to three other companies I've been dealing with to get quotes. It seems a lot of the companies have sales people who aren't necessarily trained in all of the engineering specifics, so if you have a more complex situation and you understand the basics of what you have and what you need, it helps to be able to get directly in touch with someone who can answer your questions and explain feasible options. Being a small business, it has been easier to do this with Infinity hence, they deserve a higher star rating. I decided to go with Infinity for an expansion, including 23 additional Panasonic panels, Solar Edge invertor, and additional Powerwall 2. FYI, despite what some companies may tell you, the Powerwall Plus is not compatible with an existing system that already has a Powerwall 2 IF you want to use both to shift your usage to have the batteries power your house during peak period when solar is no longer producing (this info came directly from Tesla). IMO, it doesn't make sense to install solar without battery storage with NEM 3.0 coming. Anyways, Infinity Solar can analyze your electric bill to offer a tailored solution. It was after talking to Tim that I realized I needed to add a 9.2 kW system to my existing 4.6 kW system. If I had listened to some other companies or made the decision on my own, I would've only added a few panels or only another 5 kW system which would've resulted in me spending money on an expensive system that would do little to reduce my nearly $300/mo electric bill. Bottom line: if you have an issue, escalate quickly to avoid frustration, but do get a quote from Infinity Solar. read more

It has been one year since infinity installed 38, 400 watt panels on our house. They have performed flawlessly over this past year and during the rainy season we had zero leaks. Now we charge 3 EV's and run all the AC we want and we still had a credit balance at our SDGE true up period. I researched over 10 solar companies, Tesla was the cheapest but slow and we needed to get submitted before the NEM 2.0 deadline. Infinity was our 2nd choice and they were great! Kyle the sales rep and also the owners son was very honest about what they offered and provided all the details we needed. Kyle and the products they offered sealed the mail for us. They offered solar insurance included in the price quoted. They also carried the top manufactures including REC. We installed an additional 23 panels to our existing system, to help power 2 electrical vehicles. The installation crew were nice and professional. There was some turnover and followup needed with the back office that worked on submitting to HOA and SCE NEM departments but that eventually settle okay. We used a yelp deal and refereed 2 friends. They delivered on the yelp voucher and 2 referral bonuses without following up. There was one panel that went offline after the installation and they sent a team to resolve it in short amount of time. The system has been working great ever since and love seeing our electrical bill get cut by 75% every month! Would definitely use them again and am referring them to all we know. read more

Infinity Solar came to our Rescue!!! The gateway on our 23 month old Solar System had a defect and needed to be replaced. A new gateway was provided to us, however the company that we purchased our system from refused to do the installation! They told us to find an installer on our own. Unbelievable! After calling a few companies and getting the run around, I dialed the number to Infinity Solar and reached Ashley. She explained that we'd have to wait a few weeks for an appointment but said that they would definitely take care of us! Infinity came through and installed the new equipment. Update since my initial review as it has now been 1 year since our system first started generating power. In short I'm still very happy with the system, no regrets. No issues experienced to date and recommend Infinity Solar to any one considering going solar. Actual power generated (see attached picture) totaled ~8.4MWh for the year which exceeded the 8.3MWh I received in the quote from Infinity with ~25% net exported to SDG&E. Depending on the wholesale price SDG&E pay at true up it should cover the monthly min. connectivity charges (currently $11/month). (Honestly I would rather use the excess or have a smaller system and pay the small connectivity fee than sell it back to the SDG&E crooks at 3-4 cents a kWh...) It was fantastic not having to worry or think about running the AC this past summer or electric use in general. Even with the increased use we ended with excess. Summers are getting hotter so no doubt we'll need it in the years ahead. Nice to confirm the production numbers and can support even more use and/or eventual electric car. The web and mobile application that comes with the Enphase microinverters is great. Total visibility to how the system is performing. You can see near realtime (every 15mins) generation, consumption and export data, production by panel, custom reports etc. and they continue to improve and add new features. The monthly numbers are a near and close enough match with what SDG&E sends in their statements. They have good chat boards too for Q&A and support. If power outages are of concern to you a heads up that Enphase is on the cusp of releasing a new version of their micro inverter the IQ8 which will be enable a micro-grid so your power won't go out when the electric company's power shuts down (currently the case if you are tied to the grid). May be worth waiting for if you experience frequent power outages and/or look at including battery storage in your system if that's important for you to mitigate. Again I highly recommend solar and Infinity Solar! Looking forward to breaking even and free electricity for years to come. read more

When comparing performance and price with a few friends with solar, it seems Infinity Solar was better on both. The project planning was done well and the installation was done in hours. I have recommended them to others on several occasions Recently I have an underperforming panel and they first replaced the inverter (most likely failure) and now are in the process of working with the panel manufacturer on a warranty replacement. We worked with Kyle to get an estimate for a solar system installation for our home in November. He came up with a proposal and design that met our electrical needs. Kyle was able to answer our questions and his proposal was significantly less expensive than the proposal by another highly rated solar system installer. He designed the system to fully utilize our southern and western facing roof areas, with fewer panels than the other vendor. Infinity Solar was also able to upgrade our service panel and install 3 electrical outlets we needed for EV charging and security. The Infinity Solar proposal included more efficient Panasonic panels and a full 25 year warranty on the system which was not the case with the competitor. The system was installed in late January but City and SCE approvals were not finalized until late February. After receiving our Permit to Operate (PTO) and two bills, we are realizing the projected savings and only paying Southern California Edison the connection charges and taxes. Actually, we have a credit as we have been using about 70% of the electricity produced so far. If we were driving more and charging our electric vehicle (instead of sheltering at home), we would be pretty close to Kyle's projected electrical usage. We did have a few glitches but they have been minor and corrected as needed. The Infinity Solar crew was friendly and communicative. My constructive criticism for a better customer experience would be: 1) a little more advance/better communication about scheduled events, 2) a little better cleanup/painting and 3) improved array configuration. Decided to wait before writing a review. Felt it was time since it is coming up on almost 3 years since I had my 8.28kW solar system installed by Infinity Solar. I have not had a single issue with the system and hope the system continues to function well for the next decade or so. My unit produces slightly more than the projected output from the initial paperwork, which is always a good thing. I only pay $5.50 a month on my electric bill (connect fee) since I bank my overproduction. I have banked several thousand kWH which is used whenever I consume more than I produce. Not only am I saving on my electric bill but also on gas since I had Infinity install a 14-50 Outlet for my EV. The overall process was super easy - paperwork, payments, installation and inspection.
